• Shuttle to the airport has a very long wait time and is often crowded.

• I liked the tea service in the room, and the added biscuits. The bathroom was clean and nice.
• The transition space to the elevator forced me to walk past the gift shop and restaurant. It is not very calming or relaxing.

“From a design standpoint, the layout needs some reworking. The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. I would stay again.”

• The staff was extremely friendly, the shuttle bus from the airport to hotel runs frequently.
  
• This is tough because my stay was pleasant: The rugs smell old and bathroom grout needs to be redone.

“I really enjoy my stay here; I’m not what some may refer to as an experienced traveler however the transition from airport to the hotel is very easy the atmosphere is very peaceful (which I love). The Bar and restaurants are clean and have polite waiter staff. The rooms are the same clean and comfortable. The only complaints I would have would be the carpets in the main halls and grout in the bathrooms all need to be replaced they’re bringing an old smell.

• Room service food was poor, communication with staff poor.

“This is a convenient hotel if you are leaving from Heathrow. The rooms are large and well equipped. There are no restaurants nearby, but the hotel breakfast buffet was pretty good. It gets very crowded so go early. I would say it is a family friendly hotel; kids eat free when you order a main. This is not true of room service although we were told that by a waiter.”

• Location. Very close to the tube station and places to eat.

“Basically a 3 star hotel. Can't compare to other London hotel, but definitely like a 3 star US hotel. The one thing which we didn't like at all was that they had twin beds sold as double beds. So if you are a couple, I would recommend taking a room with two beds. At least you can sleep well that ways. The bathroom was nice, big and clean as compared to the room. So that was good. The other good thing about the hotel is its location. Almost 1.5 block to the tube station and has some coffee/convenience stores nearby.”

• It is very conveniently located near to Heathrow from where we flew after we checked out.
• For two people, the room was tiny and located at the end of a long corridor along which we had to pull our luggage. Room lock did not work.

• Great location to the airport; clean and spacious room.

“We liked the clean room and the location to the airport. The room was well lit and the in room service was quick and friendly. In the morning we got a good shuttle to the airport. My only surprise was that you had to pay for the shuttle. However, in England, even a second cup of coffee costs the same as the first! Otherwise, people were helpful, friendly and approachable. We were pleased at the quality room we got at a very fair price!”

“Were told by Crowne Plaza that there was a free shuttle to Heathrow, but instead it cost $8 per person each way. The hotel itself was great. It was clean, comfortable and nice. Would recommend it.”

• Taking the shuttle would have been better to take a cab.

“Enjoyed this as quick stopover very comfortable, quiet, excellent beds. Recommend taking a cab from Heathrow, though, rather than dealing with the hopper (shuttle).”

• Excellent restaurant, close proximity to the airport.
• Breakfast not included (although the hotel staff acted as if it was) - and the cost was around $40.

“Nice facility in close proximity to airport. An easy ride on the H1 Hotel Hoppa from Heathrow. Lots of business travelers, flight attendants and airline pilots. Breakfast was outstanding, but everybody gave me the impression that it was included in the room price, and at an extra $40, it was an expensive addition. Works well if your company is paying for your expenses, but if not, watch out.”

• Close to airport via shuttle bus.
• Work going on, very noisy and front desk issues.

“The room was clean and quiet, but it took two times to get there! The front desk gal did not speak English well at all and even though I requested (via fax and in person) a very quiet room to catch a nap, she put me directly over the work site where drilling and hammering was taking place. I was tired and very upset. I went back and had the manager move me and was happy after that. Room needed updating, but was very clean and comfortable. No complaints aside from work being done. Should have a note about it on the site.”

• Really surprised at the excellent room features. Very fresh and new.
• It was under construction, so the lobby and public spaces were eyesores.

“I didn't have great expectations based on the exterior of this property when we arrived, but once inside, it was clear there was a renovation in progress. Our hotel room was modern, clean, and efficient. I would definitely stay here again.”

• The help was outstanding. All help that we came in contact with was friendly and helpful.
• To get to any location required either getting a taxi or catching a Hope bus ($8.00/person).

• The room was clean and there were plenty of front desk staff on duty.
• The food in the hotel restaurant was ridiculously expensive.

“The room was the largest we stayed in while we were in the UK, but land isn't as much at a premium near the airport as it is in central London. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was nice, but ridiculously expensive for what was more casual-dining than fine-dining. The cab, the front desk arranged for us to get to the airport was twice as expensive as the cab to get from airport to hotel the previous evening.”

“This hotel was fine. We were just there overnight between flights. It was a little further from Heathrow than I thought it would be as an "airport hotel" and if you are going to terminal 4 -- leave extra time, its amazingly far away from the rest of the airport.”

“The hotel was excellent. The staff at the restaurant seemed arrogant and tended to cater to business travelers. We waited over an hour to be served. I was told there was no salad and sometime later as I was waiting for my food, salad was served to someone who came into the dining room after I did.”

• There were two members of the staff that shined.
• Other than the two that shined the rest of the staff was very poor.

“It was shown as a 4 star but really only rates a 3 it is not well connected to city rail (underground) or bus service and the staff did not make up for this. The girl we met when we arrived early was very short with us and getting directions to town was like pulling teeth till I went outside and the doorman jumped through hoops to get me change for the bus and tell me how to get to the bus stop. Sorry the front desk at 9am couldn¿t be bothered but thanks to the doorman. Then that night I ordered room service and had difficulties and was about to just go to town and in the lobby I found a very nice gentleman who said you have kids why don¿t we just set you up well cut a pizza in half one each for them and you get a whole one for you. ( I never complained but observed a lot and no one there went out of their way for the customer but those two) this hotel is much and way inferior to the Marriott Heathrow on bath road I was at last month. Sorry Crowne Plaza Heathrow you don¿t make the grade or loose a star.”

• I think it is terrible to pay for a room and then ask to spend extra for internet access. Free shuttle to the airport be best.

• The room was great and staff was friendly.
• The restaurants were closed the majority of our stay and when they finally did open they were terribly overpriced and staff was inattentive.

“Access from Lahr via the hopper at 4 pounds each. Rooms are excellent. Restaurants are overpriced and extremely poor service. Gym and pool are great. If you stay order takeout!”

• The Pub except for the smokers and no hair dryer in the room.
• Food in all restaurants was good but much overpriced.

“Crowne Plaza is very convenient to London Heathrow Airport and has most amenities for a very pleasant stay. There are two restaurants, one is an "Irish Pub" with the usual but good Pub Food. The exercise/pool area is well equipped with sauna/steam facilities.”

• Great hotel at an incredible price--on shuttle route from LHR airport.
• Smokey smell in hallway--rooms on one side of hallway were smoking, other side non-smoking!

“It's an excellent choice for stopover at LHR airport. The room and bath were large and well-stocked with amenities. Breakfast is a bit expensive (about $30 pp); however, the delicious continental breakfast was about $15 pp. The lobby was full of personnel from many airlines--interesting to see all of the flight attendant uniforms for the "exotic" airlines. You CANNOT go wrong with this hotel for an overnight stopover. The shuttle to LHR runs about every 20 minutes and costs 4 pounds pp.”

• The staff were very helpful and the location was very good for airport.
• The hotel offers a family weekend and the place was overrun with children, and apparently the package included breakfast.

• Very comfortable beds! We were given a room in the business wing, nicely equipped and quiet.
• Only thing I didn't like was that we only stayed one night!

“The Crowne Plaza's an excellent hotel for an overnight stay at Heathrow. We didn't even hear planes taking off/landing. Well equipped rooms, good restaurant, helpful staff. Can't fault the place.”

• Ask for King size bed and got a twin room. Poor selection of TV channels.

“I was able to utilize my one day in London to the hilt. I had sent an e-mail requesting early check-in the one day stay in London, which was possible, not being offered the option of a non-smoking room took me aback; being somewhat rushed for time I did not pursue this further, though it might have been the cause of an allergy episode as I was trying to get to sleep. The Hopper service can be ragged and time-consuming, not the hotel's fault, just a concern they might want to watch concerning the viability of their great location for early departures from Heathrow.”

• Cost of getting to central London.

“My wife and I had a fabulous time. The staff was very friendly and considerate. We arrived from the states on an early morning flight and even though we had to wait, they had the housekeepers clean our room first, and let us check in early. The amenities like the pool and spa were great.”
