• Convenient location.

“Reasonable hotel for the leisure traveler, but far away from a 4-star hotel, simple accommodation, mini bar was not working, hotel bar was OK, and the shower was very low.”

“Everything about this hotel was great. Except there was no free wifi. Most hotels that I stay usually have the free wifi so that was a disappointment. Otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel.”

• Convenient to everything, and safe to walk at dark.
• Not too much selection of food for their breakfast buffet.

• The location was fabulous for the price, yet I would not rate the hotel as a 4 star.
• I liked the hotel, it just wasn't a 4 star in my standards.

“Nice hotel, great staff, amazing location. Easy to get around, the tube was only 2 blocks away. I had good experiences with the front desk. I liked the customer service. Overall, I liked the hotel and would stay there again. I just thought it was more of a 3 star because of the dated rooms.”

• Great location complimented by a really wonderful staff.
• Ugliest exterior I've seen in a while and two broken elevators at one point.

“A really nice surprise. The Holiday Inn Regents Park was really well located, near the Great Portland Street tube stop and Regent's Park as well as a fun and easy walk to Bloomsbury, the West End, and Marlybourne. On first sight, the hotel looks like a post-war reject, but the interior spaces were nicely appointed, easy on the eyes, and quite comfortable. The room was certainly big enough for two, the bed more than comfortable, and the in-room amenities more than adequate. The staff was great - friendly, accommodating, and efficient. My only complaints were the (at one point) pair of non-functioning elevators and the rather large construction project outside my window. Overall, a really pleasant surprise and a great place to stay.”

• Close to the Underground, Had A/C! Good restaurants close by.
• No free internet.

“Great location within short walk of Gt Portland St Underground station where there is a great breakfast place too. Two other stations for different lines about five minutes walk. Hotel meets the expectations of the Brand name. .”

“The hotel is in a great location. Easy access too many of the nice areas. Close to best parks in the city. Staff was very friendly, and breakfast was very good for the price. I would stay there again.”

• Great cleaning service and options.
• Unexpected fees that did not show up on our 'view your bill' option on there TV network, and loud staff.

“Good for a short stay but not for an extended stay. Cleaning staff are loud during the day and night. Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors above and below you. I was charged high fees that were not written down for me to know about such as using a phone card on the hotel telephone.”

“Very expensive for what this hotel is offering i.e. a good location but not a lot else. Staff disinterested. Top floor and room very shabby. Bathroom moldy. View onto a building site. Confused about the 4* rating. Careful with your credit card as I was charged for items not had in the hotel long after I had checked out.”

• Clean, quiet and very comfortable. Bathroom was very small, but clean and that is what matters.
• It was just fine.

“I would stay here again. Clean, comfortable and a nice quiet room away from the local noise. There was some noise on the side street, but I kept the window open for fresh air otherwise I would not have heard a peep. Very friendly front desk and an overall positive experience.”

• Excellent location, very comfortable room, great amenities, friendly and helpful staff, very nice overall.
• I did not enjoy my dining experience in the restaurant. Menu choices were limited, uncomfortable atmosphere, not cozy and relaxing.

• Well situated, close to parks, squares, and the UCL.
• The room was oddly configured and some of the staff was more helpful than others.

“From the outside, this hotel looks like a Communist-era dormitory - something out of Stalin's dreams. Inside, however, it is rather modern. The 3 lifts seem to alternate going out of service every other day, but the property is kept clean, inside and out. The rooms are not large by American standards, but by European standards they are more than ample, with all the modern amenities you would expect, including air conditioning (that really works!). Recommended for business travelers and families alike, but not suitable for that special someone in your life.”

“Hotel appears to be ready for a complete renovation-whether one is planned is unknown. Everything from an art work hung crookedly, to a door that was hard to open or close, to no dresser to put clothing, to room for a mini bar when there was inadequate storage space, to elevators that seemed ready to break. I could go on.”

• The walls are not very sound-proofed, and you can hear your neighbors.

“Nice hotel, nice staff, and quiet area for the location make this a nice hotel to visit. Not upscale, but not mediocre either. I would recommend for a vacation spot or business.”

“I would stay at the Regent's Park Holiday Inn again, especially now that I know where the tube stops are. We had a very comfortable room, which we needed since we had been traveling for a long time.”

• Close to underground station, clean and modern, warm atmosphere.
• While close to the underground, it was still a bit far from Piccadilly Circus. However, it was quiet.

“My boyfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and we generally enjoyed it. It was extremely clean, with a modern decor & atmosphere and all the amenities that you would expect in a Holiday Inn. The hotel restaurant looked lovely and vibrant even though we didn't get a chance to eat there. My only complaint is that the neighborhood while quiet and safe, seemed a little far from the city center. There are several nice pubs and restaurants nearby; however, you really need to catch the underground in order to go somewhere special.”

• Not bad location - close to oxford/regent street shopping. Tube stations nearby for farther trips.
• Not a very beautiful structure - looks like it's from the old soviet union or suburban Prague circa 1970.

“Although I usually like to stay in Covent garden or south Kensington, the holiday inn regent's park was in a fine location - close to regent sty/oxford sty - which ended up costing me a lot as I went shopping conveniently. A bit of a walk to Piccadilly and the west end theatres but do-able and safe at night. A row of nearby restaurants on Cleveland street opens until 11pm to avoid eating at the hotel.”

• The sunken tub was an extra bonus. And, we liked the extra bed for our 15 year old.
• The only thing that could have been better was a microwave!

“Conveniently located and surprisingly upscale. We saved money using the in room coffee maker and mini fridge - we loved the sunken tub after a long day on our feet and the concierge could not have been nicer or more helpful. We did not eat at the restaurant but there were plenty of lower cost options nearby. Great value for the price!”

• Great location just one block from great Portland underground station.
• Very tiny rooms as expected in London.

“Good value for the money. Hotel sign is not very easy to see from great Portland underground station (the hotel is situated down a side street heading left out of the station) but it is only one block away making it a convenient place to stay with minimum frills. The restaurant seemed nice - though we didn¿t eat there.”

• The bathrooms and the beds were great.
• TV was horrible. There were hardly any channels to choose from.

“The location of the hotel was not too bad. Inside the hotel, it is hard to get to the rooms. There are long winding, never ending walks to the rooms. This is esp. hard when we are with luggage. TV channel selection was very poor. We only had 5 channels or so to pick from (most of it being bib).”

• Couldn't get the mini-bar open.

• Location and the amenities of the room and bathroom/shower.
• Rooms were very small.

“Their rack rates are high (like everything in london-esp. For the America dollar) -- but the hotel is in a good location for sightseeing--tube locations are close by and it is a short walk to regent & oxford streets for shopping and eating/entertaining. Starbucks and English pubs close by. Bed is comfortable and clean. Nice bathroom and liked having the coffee/tee maker and personal room safe. A nice property (if you can get a good price) in expensive London city center.”

• Interesting section of town, previously unfamiliar to me.
• Didn't bother to give me the requested and confirmed wakeup call, which caused me to miss my flight.

“Perfectly nice physical plant and location; smallish rooms - although my overall opinion is fairly negative due to a) the lack of immediate helpfulness in effecting an early check in, when they had the clean room ready, and b) the fact that my requested and confirmed wakeup call did not take place, and I missed an international flight as a result.”

• Bathroom was quite small.

• Very clean, great (interesting and centrally located) neighborhood.
• Breakfast not included in price, water pressure too low, room was stuffy with window closed and loud with it open. Ugly building. Impersonal service.

“This hotel was a very good and it served our needs well. The staff was not particularly friendly and the overall atmosphere was quite impersonal. However, the room was quite clean and included a full bathroom. Also the hotel is in a safe and centrally located neighborhood sprinkled with interesting pubs and homes of historical figures. If you're looking for European quirkiness (odd-sized rooms, eccentric characters at the reception desk), this is not for you. Note that breakfast, 24-hour room service, and in-room mini-bar are available but only at an additional (rather steep) price.”
