“The room was clean and in good shape with a good view but very small and the bathroom was extremely small (even for one person). My husband and son had to stay at a different location as they would not accommodate or allow 4 in a room (even as our kids are very young). Definitely not a good hotel for families to stay!”

“Not too bad, fine room to sleep in and bath, but not to spend too much time in. If you are just looking for a bed that is easy to reach by tube or taxi, and is moderately priced (esp. for London) this is the one to go to.”

• Very modern-did not feel as homey as would like. Bathroom was weird.

“Very modern hotel with great views from the higher floors. Lobby bar/restaurant looked like hot spots but did not experience personally. Across the street from bus stop and Starbucks, slightly longer to the underground, but overall clean and safe location. Next door to the public library. Staff was extremely helpful, especially concierge. Unfortunately not too many food options in the immediate area, but 10-15 minutes walk gets you to a lot of stuff.”

• Early check-in was unavailable so there was a large lineup at 2pm when check-in was opened.

“Overall, the hotel experience was good. However, the check-in process could use large improvements. The check-in staff were unable to accommodate an earlier check-in and there were many parties waiting in the lobby around 1:30pm.at 2pm, the check-in opened and there was a large lineup to check in.”

• Modern and new feel, great value.
• Friendly but rather confused concierge made reservations at a wrong restaurant!

“Great ambience, comfortable room though a little on the small side. Very poor sound insulation (the next room's alarm clock went off a 7 am on a Sunday and never stopped, waking me up 2 hours earlier than I had wanted.)Modern chic feel to the place. Well worth the money spent.”

• Very comfortable room with flat screen TV.
• Initially charged me for two breakfasts daily, even though I was solo and didn't eat in the hotel.

“An excellent hotel, located within easy walking distance of both Easton and kings cross stations and tube stops. Right next door to the British library. Several outstanding pubs located nearby. My room had every convenience one would expect in a hotel of this caliber, including flat screen TV, safe, mini bar, trouser press, hairdryer, iron and ironing board.”

• The mirror over the sink doesn't fog over after a shower.
• I really don't like the glass door to the bathroom.

“Overall, I am happy based on the price I paid. Hotel is close to public transportation but there is not much within walking distances (10 to 15 minutes). To go anywhere, you have to use the public transportations.”

• The room was renovated and large by London standards.
• Smoky lobby and uninspired service.

“Compared to most of the 4-stars in London the nonvoter is above-average mainly because of the new room renovations and the size of the rooms. That said, it still does not meet north American standards of 4-stars and the service was lackluster. The lack of a taxi rank outside the hotel is an annoyance and means you have to flag one yourself on the street and the smoky lobby is uncomfortable.”

• The reception staffs are a little stand offish but the concierge was helpful.

“This is a modern high-rise hotel that has a very modern design and sleek room interior. It has a very nice modern restaurant decor and the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, which are not common for hotels in London at that price range. it is a five minutes walk from the Easton subway station and a bit out of the major attractions locales but the nice views from the big glass windows kind of made up for that.”

• Clean, comfortable beds, friendly concierge.
• Location was near a closed tube station in an iffy neighborhood.

“Especially geared to business travelers, this hotel was an economical choice for a clean, comfortable space in a pricey city. The neighborhood is rather down market, and the nearest tube station was closed, so it was quite a hike with luggage. Just across the street from the British Library, but not as close to the Heathrow Express as I would have liked.”

• Well arranged rooms that had spaces for everything; uncluttered.
• Can't think of anything except we couldn't exit through the restaurant doors at Mirrors

“The hotel is clean, Scandinavian in style, very conveniently located to coffee shops, a few good restaurants, a good pub, and a Laundromat. There is good bus service that is direct and frequent for most of the places we like to go. The rooms are clean and seem more spacious than they are. We liked the place very much.”

• Staff moved us immediately when they put us in a smoking room. I had called from the US to request non-smoking.
• We were put in a smoking room even though I had called. We were exhausted from our journey and even a small delay was taxing.

“The hotel is very clean and modern and is truly a 4 star hotel. It is close to the underground so getting around London is easy. The train line to get out of London is also a short walk and so is one of the Tourist site seating buses. Nice location. The hotel food is not great and too expensive. We did not find good restaurants in the area. But as a tourist we spend much of our day out side of the area anyway and found pub food to be fine.”

• Very clean and modern, nice exercise room and large room.
• The 2 pm check in was very inconvenient after traveling all night and arriving mid-morning.

“The location for going to the theater and central London was pretty good. It was about a 10 minute walk from the tube and about 4 stations by tube to the theater district. The hotel was modern and clean and my room was large with an additional small sitting area, so I was very pleased with that.”

• Nothing appealing about the neighborhood (supposedly not a super safe neighborhood either, although we had no problems).

“The Devotedly London Euston was a fantastic value for the price. The rooms were clean and cheery. The staff was always helpful, although possibly a bit young to actually have a pulse on the city's latest and greatest. The hotel is located very conveniently; it is close to 2 major Underground/train stations which is important, since any leisure traveler will need to leave the neighborhood to experience the ambience of London, or really any ambience at all.”

• Clean, modern hotel and is accessible to everywhere in Downtown London.
• Not a lot to do in the area in the evening (but it is safe, and the Tube is so close).

“Overall, this hotel was exactly what we wanted. The facilities were clean and modern, and the bar downstairs was open each night until 1:00 AM for a cocktail or dessert. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are a total of 6 tube lines available from the 2 nearest stations (about three blocks away). We were able to check in early after arriving from the US (around 11:00 AM), which was a huge bonus. The hotel did add a breakfast charge to our bill for each day without telling us (we never ate there), but quickly took the charge off when I brought it to their attention. Overall, a very pleasant stay.”

“Small rooms with lighting that is too bright or too dark, never right, cramped bathrooms with awkward shower and toilet layout, tired furniture. The hotel is on the very busy Euston Road and those rooms on this side get the bus and heavy lorry (truck) noise all night. And the emergency services use this route too! ”

“Excellent location for rail and underground links. Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size for London and the shower in the bathroom was very powerful. Bath soaps etc., a little meager, towels nice and fluffy. Good sized gymnasium with small sauna and steam room. Road noise a problem though despite being on the 6th floor. Very good.”

“The rooms were clean. The decor and furniture in the room were not what I would expect from a four star hotel. This neighborhood is not in the trendy part of town, but it is a safe neighborhood. The room and linens were clean, but the bed was a disaster, old and sagged in the middle.”

“Nice Novotel, better than average of Novotel. I got a room for one night at an excellent value, I can't expect better for the price I paid. The room was pretty large, nicely decorated in a modern style, and it seems that it was newly renovated. The bed was really comfortable, and there was a sofa in the room, nice! Excellent cleanliness. About the location, it is really convenient if you are going to take a train at King's Cross or St Pancreas or Euston. But this is not really central if you want to make a walk by foot.”
