“the hotel was beatuifully appointed, within good commuting distance of many local attractions. The hotel grounds were very well maintained. The location was nice and quiet without being miles from nowhere. Car parking was very good. Overall one of the nic”

• The house and gardens were very unique, beautiful and peaceful
• Unable to use the snooker room, no bar licence and sauna broken

“The house was lovely and the owners and staff were very friendly.
Clearer guidance on the availability of snooker room, sauna and the lack of evening meals and a bar should be clearer.”

• The House was very well maintained and the rooms and breakfast excellent

“Excellent the no smoking was the best. I would have liked a list of local places for evening meals as I did not realise they did not serve them in the hotel. Not a problem thr staff were lovely and helpful but a recommended list would be an idea. You could not fault this hotel in any shape or form..... WONDERFUL”

• Very well maintained, clean and comfortable throughout. Very quiet and restful. Private parking.

“This is an excellent quiet and very comfortable Guest House just outside Dumfries (taxi cost single approx '3.50 Sept '04. The owners have lavished agreat deal of care in modernising and refurbishing the house. There is no restaurant or bar, though breaksafts were very good and we were able to get some pre-dinner drinks in the conservatory. There are several good restaurants not too far away. Overall, we found it ideal for a quiet weekend away.”
