“My first stay was on 4th floor & was able to use club room with free internet, snacks which was lovely. 2nd stay that week was on 1st floor & no access to same amenities. Lovely hotel, convenient to airport & buses down the street. Nice decor, but doesn't really cater to families/groups with 2 per room policy, no pool, pricey restaurants etc.”

“A very pleasant hotel within easy travel to Dublin. Hotel staff was very accommodating and hotel has good parking. Restaurant is overpriced for breakfast but acceptable for dinner.”

• Parking was far, no doorman on duty. Had to lug our own luggage to room.

“Crowne Plaza is a modern and trendy hotel. Lobby is grand and rooms are well decorated. Service was great. Nice touches included comp water, separate shower/bath, greeting on telephone LCD, robes and built in U.S. converted electrical outlet. Room felt very clean and very comfortable. Wished we checked in earlier.”

• Bathrooms spaciousness, cleanliness and newness and the comfort of the beds.
• Being in Ireland, they do not have coffee pots in the rooms, only water heaters for instant coffee.

“Of our weeks stay in Ireland, this was the newest, cleanest and best value that we found. Hard to find because it cannot be seen from the main road, and the sign at the main road is too small and not light up.”

• The service in the restaurant was slow because a flight was delayed out of Dublin and several of the passengers were awarded dinner vouchers.

• Person at reception was overextending and helpful. We loved the decor. It lived up to it's 4 star reputation.
• The parking garage was not easily accessible from hotel - especially with 3 small children in tow.

“The Crown Hotel Northwood is located in Dublin, Ireland definitely lived up to it's reputation as a 4 star hotel. It also displayed a decor and environment that the Crowne Hotel chain is famously known for. Well done!”

• The room was beautifully decorated.
• The restaurant was really overpriced.

“The entire hotel is very new and very clean. The lobby area is decorated in modern luxury with beautiful purples and blues and has a huge fish tank. The rooms are equally as nice. We were able to get a king sized bed, which can be hard to find in Europe. It was about a 20 minute bus ride to the city center, but it was kind of worth it for the luxury and quiet. If you just want a cheap place to sleep that's right next to the city, this may not be what you want, but if you don't mind staying a little outside the city, this is great. Another perk is that it's right next to the airport and has a free shuttle to and from.”

“Rooms are very modern, clean and pretty. Food and a bar are located in the hotel. Food was very good. Transportation to and from airport was available and local bus system near by.”

• The location with the park across the street.
• The shuttle service. Not very flexible with times.

“Overall this was a great experience. It started off rough with the shuttle service not being available to pick us up at the airport but the staff more than made up for the shortfalls at first. They were very responsive and helpful throughout the stay. I would recommend this place to anyone.”

• The room was comfortable and clean.
• The parking garage was a nightmare to deal with everyday.

“We had a good experience at this hotel. We had to move once because the internet was not working and we were right next to the maids closet. The parking garage was not easy to manager though. We were given a ticket on at least five different occasions that was supposed to work our entire stay. That did not happen forcing us to pull from the gate, park the car and walk the distance to the front desk to get another card just so we could get out.”

“The hotel seemed new and modern. The rooms were nice and clean. It was about 2 km from the airport, and about a 15 min. drive to the city center. I didn't like being charged for everything like 7 euro for parking per day, 10 for the internet, 0.60 for a local call, etc.”

“This hotel is easily accessible to Dublin center by a number of buses (about a 20 minute ride). It's clean and comfortable. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The main restaurant was reasonably priced (for Dublin) and the food was tasty. I would stay at this hotel again if visiting Dublin.”

• No direct entry from garage to hotel; in Dublin rain this is a pain.

“Modern upscale trendy with excellent bed and room amenities including complimentary water (still and sparkling) hot chocolate, cookies, etc. Very helpful staff at front desk. Free airport shuttle and less than 10 minutes from airport. If I am in Dublin again, this is where I will be staying.”

• Restaurant menu while serving good food is limited.

“For convenience of travelers this is good-close to airport about 2-3 km. The rooms were clean and comfortable; lounge was very nice and restaurant had nice setting and good service although limited menu. Being newly renamed it did not show up on GPS in car and website directions to get to it not all that clear for visitors. Going to airport directly and taking shuttle service turned out the best alternative in that regard.”

• The park and trails across the street with swans, ducks and a gazebo.
• The over priced restaurant inside the hotel and no check in until 2 p.m.

“To get from Dublin Airport to the Crowne plaza, a shuttle service is provided. If you arrive before 2pm, you may leave your luggage but not check into your room. (Check ins are after 2pm, unless you have paid for the previous day.)I was traveling with another person but had only reserved one room, so we requested a room with 2 beds, which we received. Every person I had any sort of interaction with was extremely kind and accommodating. The room itself was spacious and nicely decorated. It was clean and sunny, which large windows. The bathroom was extremely large and bright, with both a shower and a bath tub. There is a decently equipped gym on the 1st floor, but running outside is also an option. The concierge has maps with 1 and 3 mile loops on them, and you can request extra water and towels. There is a beautiful park across the street (still on hotel property) with a large pond, trails, a gazebo and, sadly, a visible stadium. To get into Dublin, you can call a taxi (around 20 euros) or take the local bus, which has a stop near the hotel (1.60 euros). There is a wonderful little Italian restaurant called 'Little Venisia' within walking distance that was perfectly acceptable and filled with locals. For breakfast, there is a cafe inside, serving pastries, coffee, juice and yogurt.”

• It wasn't as close to the airport as expected and had to wait a long time for the hotel shuttle bus.

• Upscale, efficient, good location close to airport.
• Expensive breakfast not included in room price, expensive parking. Expensive internet access.

“Good business hotel with free shuttle to airport. Be aware that breakfast is an additional us$20 and parking is us$10 per night. Access to the internet is us$22 per day on the TV if you do not have a laptop. This is very expensive when compared to $1.50 per hour at local internet cafes. No hotel transportation to tourist areas of Dublin available. Only options are expensive taxis or inefficient public bus.”

• Construction outside room, forgot toiletries after being asked, long wait for airport shuttle.

“It was a nice stay. Our only issue was the amount of time we waited at the airport for the shuttle to arrive to take us to the hotel, and the wait at the reception desk. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location for grabbing a bus to Dublin, has a beautiful park, and a very convenient restaurant.”

• Good quality furnishings, friendly staff, comfortable beds.
• A lot of extra charges for movies, internet etc. Food was expensive.

“Hotel located 5 minutes by free shuttle from Dublin airport in quiet parkland. Not much within walking distance, next door to a new holiday inn express. Pleasant lobby\bar area, public areas where comfortable. Bedroom was nicely furnished with every possible necessity. Shower pressure was ok. Overall perfect hotel for a stopover. An inclusive breakfast would be nice.”

• Bad location for leisure tourist travelers.

“I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport hotel in August 2006. I received a great price compared to other hotels in the same class. The rooms and common areas were superb. The Reception staff was ok, but the bar staff was excellent. Not only did they provide great service, they also answered all our questions about the area and how to get to places in the city center. It was a very nice hotel, convenient to the airport, but a little out of the way for sightseeing.”

“New, conference hotel. Handsome lobby, comfortable bar. Very close to airport, so convenient if an early flight into or out of Dublin. Bus near hotel will take you downtown, and can walk two blocks to movie, McDonald's (yes, their everywhere) pizza hut, etc. Although bar-restaurant was quite good. Free parking if you are starting a drive/tour of Ireland. Both Aer Lingus and Ryan Air have connections from Dublin to much of Europe, and this hotel would be highly recommended if one needed a day to acclimatize oneself to European time zone. Free transportation to/from hotel from airport.”

• Great hotel by Dublin Airport - nice facilities; quiet.
• Approximately 30 minute bus ride from city center.

“We had a great stay at Crown Plaza Hotel in Dublin. Very nice facility with a nice bar area. Friendly hotel staff. Bus to city center is only 1 block from hotel, but it is a 30 minute ride to city center. Hotel offers shuttle service to airport. Overall great stay.”

• Free 24 hour airport shuttle, gorgeous hotel.
• Not close to shopping/entertainment.

“We stayed at this hotel at the end of 10 days in Italy and 4 days in Ireland, and this was the nicest of a very nice bunch. I wish we had more time to spend there, as we got in late (9pm) and had to go to the airport at 4:30 am. The room was large, we took pictures of the bathroom as it was such a great use of space we want to duplicate in our house. Great view of a park out the windows, and in a nice and quiet location while still close to the airport. The 24 hour airport shuttle was perfect - ran every 30 minutes, and was waiting with an easy call from the airport. Lobby looked great, etc.”

• The hotel was very clean, had nice surroundings for running/walking, was close to the bus to Dublin center, &was close & had a shuttle to the airport.
• The first night of our stay we arrived very late and they had resold our room!

“This hotel is great if you want to stay away from the city center (and take a 30 min bus ride to Dublin center) and within 5-10 min to the airport. The accommodations are great for business travelers, with an excellent executive level. There are also excellent restaurants (bar/pub, dinner/breakfast, and coffee bar).”

• A little hard to find - - could use some signs.

“Very nicely appointed, modern hotel close to the airport, with shuttle to and from Dublin airport. Rooms were larger than expected and elegantly appointed. Wonderful bar area and restaurant. Considering what we paid for other hotels in Ireland, this was definitely worth the price.”

• Shuttle service to and from airport with friendly drivers.
• No shuttle service to center of town. Needed to use bus.

“This was a good hotel. There was a fitness room, but I did not see a pool or sauna. The restaurants were nice and the food was good. The staff were very nice. The location is about 10 minutes from the airport and 30 to 40 minute bus ride to center of Dublin.”

• I was surprised to find that they charged for a newspaper.

“Attractive hotel with nicely appointed rooms including terrycloth robes and full amenities. Transportation available from the airport. Some construction going on at the site as they are expanding, but the only inconvenience was that the hotel car park was physically not adjacent to the hotel.”
