• Small bathtub, cleanliness, toilet flush malfunction.

“Very disappointing. The hotel is sold as 3 stars but the room is 2 stars. Toilet could not flush properly, room was not cleaned properly, and rubbish not picked up, used spoon not replaced. We were asked to pay more than the original invoice but all was cleared when I showed the email confirmation (what if I did not have it?). Hotel is 30min walk from O'Connell sty and 20min from Grafton sty, not that near when you are tired from sightseeing. Would not consider going again.”

• Clean, quiet, comfortable.
• Rude staff, location not ideal.

“Your basic place to crash and maybe grab breakfast in the morning. Nothing spectacular, but clean and adequate. Located south of the city center, it's a short bus ride in to Trinity College area, which is fine, but if you're looking for something close to the heart of the action, this hotel isn't it. Good for the traveler who, like myself, needed someplace reasonably close to the center to crash for the night before hopping a plane the next morning.”

• Location away from busy City Center but very accessible. Close to business area.
• Neighborhood very quiet and shops all closed early evening.

“I liked not being in the City Center but being close enough to easily access it quickly. Lower Baggot St. great area for quiet dinners and leisurely urban strolls. Close to St Steven's Green, etc. Hotel clean and quiet despite major rugby match down the road on the Sat I was there, only added color and style to the hotel! No gym or workout equipment a big disappointment. No contract with local gym either, should fix this situation quickly.”

• Clean and nicely decorated
• Complete lack of customer service....much below a Super 8

“The hotel is attractive and located near downtown Dublin. However, the service is the worst I've seen in any city in Europe. Hotel staff does not care and their systems are very poor. It took 2 hours to get into my room (and I arrived at 4:00 pm) and the service went downhill from there.”

• The rooms were large and quiet. The location was handy to Dublin centre.
• The booking was not ready when we arrived..

“The Mespil is a good quality 3 star hotel with all the facilities expected. Very hard to find fault apart from the lost booking.”

“Clean hotel and friendly staff, a little longer walk than a lot of the hotels from main attractions. There were nice restaurants and coffee shops nearby.”
