• The theamed rooms,
• the fact that we had to clime 7 flights of stairs with children and the bathroom was not attached to our room

“We would like to have known that their were no lifts and the acctual hotel was situated over a public house”

• good location
• music from bar bothered some people in my party and toilet in one room worked erratically

• It was very handy to all the local attractions.
• Very badly light room, light in the bathroom was on all the time.

“The staff were very friendly, the room was adequate for what we needed. There are plenty of restaurants and eating places close by to it. I wish I had known it was a Pub more than a hotel as we had a child with us and therefore had to eat out as the child was not allowed to be in the pub after 9pm, but she could walk through it to go up to the room. It would be better if there was a different entrance to the reception for the rooms than through the pub.”

• Very central for all attractions in Edinburgh
• Spiders and bugs in frames on wall and shower foot off ground

“Overall the accommodation was good and the breakfasts very filling and tasty. Didn't like framed insects on the wall especially the spiders and the shower in the en-suite was a foot off the ground and caused difficulty getting out of shower (fiance banged toe causing it to go black). Nowhere to plug kettle in apart from skirting board level point and kettle sitting on floor.”

• Hotel in which we had to stay actually honoured their booking unlike the Bank Hotel!
• Hotel forced to stay by Bank cancelling at short notice not located where we wished

“Most appalling hotel-booking experience ever. Booked 2 months in advance choosing location of hotel carefully to suit logistics of our stay. One week before Bank Hotel rang up to cancel the booking (said this was to accommodate guests who had decided recently to extend stay). Had located hotel with vacancies other end of city, requiring taxis to our planned events. This was at normal rates of replacement hotel. No offer by Bank Hotel of compensation for cancellation, consequent inconvenience or incurred costs made. Most extra-ordinary behaviour and extremely unsatisfactory. Extremely disappointed.”

• Unique setting and room themes. Excellent breakfast.
• No parking offered. Instructed by staff to park in an incorrect car park.

“A very unique place to stay in a convenient location to everything to see in Edinburgh. I would recommend it and stay there again.”
