  • Great location for travelers to the city of Edinburgh .able to see so much within walking distance.
  • View from room was blocked by huge building.

“Our stay at Frederick house was very pleasant and proved to be an excellent choice for seeing the city's historic areas as well as shopping.”

  • It has great location.
  • The price.

“The hotel was clean, but has virtually no amenities. Even the TV was so small it was hard to see. But the room did come with one single bed and one double bed. So it would probably be best for a small family, looking to be in a clean room close to all the attractions.”

  • Spacious Room, Central Location, Excellent Breakfast Facilities, Helpful and Friendly staff.
  • Very noisy in middle of night even though I did not go to bed myself until about 3am.

“The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to all the main tourist attractions in the city centre.
The bar where breakfast is served is opposite the hotel and is very modern, clean and the food excellent. The rooms are basic, but clean and spacious. My friend and I booked a twin room and there was a single and a double bed in it with room for another bed easily!
The hotel would be a little expensive for some people considering it is a 3 star hotel, but I personally think it was very good value as it is comfortable but mainly for the excellent location - We alighted the train at Edinburgh Waverley at 2.30pm on a Friday afternoon, dropped off our luggage in our hotel room and were sitting sipping wine in a bar by 3pm!”

  • Breakfast offered at chic Bistro opposite hotel - excellent food and service. Good arrangement as hotel has no catering facilities. Hotel is very well placed. Hotel staff friendly and helpful.

“The hotel is half way up Frederick Street in the heart of the New Town of Edinburgh, although it is highly unlikely that you will have a room with a view (other than a brick wall) but there again you're probably not there to stay in the room all day! It is centrally located for all the best restaurants and is only a short walk from the old town and Castle. Close to mainline rail station and airport bus drop off/pick up points. Everything is within easy reach. Cost of 3 night package was excellent value for money. Will definitely stay there again.”
