• It is a nice accommodation and is a very well set out place with very nice friendly staff.
• The blue bed blankets had spots of stuff on them which looked like dried spunk, the smell of cigarette smoke..

“I think the place is great. It is a very clean and healthy safe environment there and the staff are ever so friendly and respectful. I have met loads of new people and gained loads of new skills while I've been there. The only problem I've come across is the smell of cigarette smoke coming from the bars. Its not very nice smell for the people who don't smoke, who hate the smell of it. The staff who smoke there have to either smoke in the bar or outside and no were else. The other thing I came across, was when they don't change the blue bed blankets. While I was changing the beds, the blue bed blanket had spots of stuff on them which looked like dried. It was not very nice sight and when we changed, we did not put a clean one of those blankets on and we just striped the bed, put clean sheets on, and then put the blue blanket back on the bed, and then put the next blanket on top of that. Over all the sand pipers hotel is a very nice place for wedding and dinner party, other things like that too. It is a nice accommodation and is a very well set out place with very nice friendly staff.”

• Very good basic standard hotel, excellent food and service in the restaurant. Was clean and all equipment in good working order
• Smoking in bar areas was an issue for non smokers, and functions on in main hotel both nights, which took over bar area

“Road noise at the front, request a back room if you want peace and quiet. Rooms are clean with good amount of space. No problems with fixtures and fittings. Insist on a non-smoking room when booking if needed. Restaurant and staff, excellent, despite ”

• Clean, reasonable price and nice staff
• Used Tea bag in cup upon arrival( minor fault)

“We found the hotel most comfortable, staff were friendly and attentive and dinner in the Sandpiper restaurant truly exceeded our expectations. We only stayed in Chesterfield for the night and were more than satisfied with our choice of hotel.”

“The hotel was easy to find. It would not be so suitable to a traveller without a car as it is on the outskirts of Chesterfield but suited our purposes perfectly. The room was clean and well maintained and the food was excellent.”

• Everything was spotlessly clean. I've never come across such a well-presented hotel room before.
• Heating was adequate for spring, but probably wouldn't be ok for winter.

“I was surprised that the accomodation was accessed from outside and not through reception. A security door led to other rooms too but this was not a major concern, though it did increase the noise from adjacent rooms. The free use of Cannon's health club would have been nice, but do remember to take equipment with you as they do not supply any at all!”

• had everything that you needed. Nice and quiet area.
• Stairs quite steep.

“Good value for money and excellent restaurant. Staff were all very polite and helpful. Only thing we asked about before we went was the security of the car park. We were told that there were CCTV. However, on arrival we found that only part of the car park is covered by CCTV.”

• Spacious and uncluttered but with plenty of storage for a longer stay.
• Automated heating good, but information was sparse. Adjoining stairs were a little noisy - noisy guest?

“The accommodation is clean and well cared for and is reasonably priced. The en-suite bathroom was very good, featuring constant hot water in a genuine sense - the shower really delivered!

For me, the big strength of this hotel is the restaurant. Though a limited menu, evening meals were an absolute delight and were competitively priced. As early diners, my partner and I enjoyed unhurried meals of excellent quality accompanied by friendly and polite service.”

• the en-suite was spacious and very clean compared to other hotels we have stayed.
• room was basic in conjunction with quality of restaurant, but comfortable.

“The only thing was having to walk out in the rain to the restaurant, for the valentine evening meal, dressed up. Also the staffing situation on the sunday morning for breakfast, there was only 2 staff on and a surge of guests coming down for breakfast at the same time, with little prep for this i.e shortage of seats,plates, some items of breakfast menu, having to wait for it to be cooked. Other wise our compliments to the chef for a beautiful valentine meal.”

• We asked for a quiet room at the back, away from traffic noise and that's what we were given, with a nice view of a stream. Our two friends were at the front overlooking a row of run down houses and quite a busy road.
• Not keen on having to run through the rain to the bar and then again to the restaurant.

“The food was delicious, managed to eat three courses without being too full, just right amounts in each course. We had to wait over half an hour before we went in to eat, but there was a private party in the next room and were very busy. More of a 'Motel' than an 'hotel' the way the rooms, reception and restaurant are separate from each other. Very modern, minimalist decor in hotel, nice but a bit stark, restaurant was better. All the staff were very nice and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The special offer BB&EM price was definately value for money, wouldn't have paid '48 room only price, more suitable for business travellers and functions really.”

“I travel troughout Europe extensively and would say the accommodation represented excellent value for money. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished and the staff were very helpful,Parking facilities were good and the bar was available until late. Unfortunately due to a large, late evening meal we were unable to partake in breakfast. However if the aroma was an indicator I am sure this was also excellent.I would certainly use this hotel in the future and would recommend it to friends and colleagues.

• Staff:- Friendly, helpful & professional. Breakfast:- Everything for everyone. Cooked breakfast always freshly cooked. Ample parking, always plenty of spaces.
• Had no difficulties at all. Everything fine.

“We did our research before we booked this hotel. So it was in the area we wanted to visit, & we knew where & what we wanted to see.
Maybe if I had to make a request that would be, a few more leaflets of local places to visit, & a list of places to eat locally.
Apart from that we had a very enjoyable stay.”
