• Good standard with all the basic facilities required

“It was perfect for our needs. Good value with all the essentials needed for a short stay. I would certainly recommend it for a short stay, but for more than 2-3 days I would probably look for a higher grade hotel”

• Good location for Conference Centre and within walking distance of railway station and shops
• Bath was too small. Electric radiator was poor and didn't work. Breakfast was a bit of a joke

• Staff talking to each other on arrival and not being prompt to check you in.

• Quiet despite being next to the under 18s disco night with thousands of youngsters, police and security guards
• Room adequate, not enough storage space for longer stay

“Value for money, special offer. We were going to book for the evening meal but glad we did not as the food was too grilled or pasta and not to our taste.”

• Loud music coming from the disco on our return from dinner out and toilet mess

“The music etc as already stated. Being on view to the general public in the restaurant,not comfortable!
I must say though that your housekeeper was extremely helpful when we had to change rooms due to the smell in our first room. Full marks to her in the way she dealt with it all.”

• no parking on site walls were paper thin bedroom decor out of date

“the hotel was surrounded by several clubs and pubs, therefore, we could hear music until the early hours of the morning. the shower worked, but the shower holder was broken. although the facilities in the bedroom were adequate, the decor was out of date. the ceiling had a light covering of cobwebs/dust. the hotel is generally more suitable for clubbers and lively people.”

• The staff were very friendly and welcoming
• It would have been nice if the rates during weekdays were as good as for a weekend break.

“I have stayed in lots of other hotels and generally I found the quality hotel very competitive in comparison. But other hotels often offer a reduced weekday rate i.e Mon - Thurs where as the qaulity was more expensive to book two additional weekday nights compared to the weekend. Also although there was a lot of choice for breakfast on one occaison the food was poorly cooked. This may have been due to the demad as it was quite busy at the time but it was a little off putting.”

• Excellent value for money, friendly efficient staff and excellent meals. Very central.
• Car park could have been a bit nearer and the bath was a little small.

“Excellent food, friendly and efficient staff and good quality accommodation and facilities right in the centre of Brighton. Car park is a bit of a hike especially if carrying heavy bags but with a bit of forward planning this can be avoided.
Excellent value for money.”

“I thought the location of this hotel was perfect - close to everything in Brighton. The staff was very helpfull and kind and I would certainly stay there again if I decided to visit Brighton again.”

• The breakfast could have been hotter, car parking information a bit vague.

“The standards were very high and room was good, housekeeping very good, the breakfast was nice but cold (warmed plates would have helped). I wasn`t aware that the hotel didn`t have a car park until I arrived but no real problem to park in NCP, overall very good.”

• Convenient for our business in the town.
• You should have notified us there were discos next door. No sleep possible until 3.00 am

“From you....that it was in an extremely noisy part of Brighton,2 discos next door, the staff were surprised that we did not know this...and were very sympathatic, and helpful, some people may be pleased of this location.The room was extremely small for a twin.”

• The bathroom facilities were good apart from the shower head was broken. The beds were comfortable

“My friends and i had a very enojyable stay at the hotel. The location was perfect for everything we needed, the food was wonderful and the staff were friendly. The rooms were a little dull but adequate for what we needed and the stay was great value for money. We can't wait to return! Thank you”

• Central location and concessions for overnight parking. Asked for a sea view which we got.
• Room was tacky and smelt like an old ashtray. The room was clean but needed some attention ie the smell and mould on the ceiling.

“The stay was reasonable value for the '44 that we paid. We wouldn't have been pleased to have paid '100 plus for the type of room we had. We were disapointed with the smelly room, (we later discovered that non smoking rooms are available)however the room was clean and we made do for 1 night. Breakfast was good. More needs to be made about the parking, as Brighton is a nightmare! '8 max for 24 hours stay is value compared to the usual price. Hotel did lack a bit of atmosphere, I think because it was a concrete monster amongst all that architecture. We needed to keep the windows closed at night as there is a very noisy nightclub right next door.”

• No local map in room or local litrature. Reception provided very good free local map when asked.

“I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and felt it was good value for the cost (price is for the room not per person and a good breakfeast included). The NCP car park is 300m away and you shpould drop off your bags first due to the walk back (cost '8 for 24 hours with hotel discount). The Brighton center is behind the hotel and 2 minutes walk to it's entrance. Great for the concert we attended.
Walkabout pub is over the road and ok for a late drink. Large night club next to the walkabout. Hotel also good for the shopping centre.”

• Good Breakfast, Easy and Early check-in as our room was ready, FABULOUS location!
• Room was quite small - but adequate, mental shower that flies out of your hand and soaks the bathroom!

“This was an OK hotel, nothing special but excellent location. 1 minute walk from the Weatherspoons pub, opposite the Walkabout pub and Creation nightclub...right next to the shops and about 7-8 min walk to the pier.
Rooms are quite small but are ok if you are just staying for one or two nights, good value for money, we payed '69 for the room for 1 night including a huge buffet fry up in the morning which was nice.”

• good & late breakfast, hotel fairly informal, bar open late
• bathroom poor state of repair, lights not working, lifts not working

“I thought it was a good choice for a hen weekend as its fairly impersonal and laid back - the rooms are mainly fine though the bathroom was a bit grotty and some of the lights in the room didn't work. If I was staying for a holiday as a couple I wouldn't have been impressed as its not luxurious for the price.”

• Good value, good shower, comfortable bed, excellent food, excellent value sightseeing package
• Room smelt of tobacco, appeared tatty, first receptionist not very helpful

“Would have liked the opportunity to book non-smoking room (if it was available on the booking form it was not obvious). However, overall we really enjoyed our stay.”

• Ideally located.
• Check out was a bit long winded (half an hour queue) - perhaps you should stagger times?

“All in all the Sightseeing weekend was very good value. Staff and service was very good. Breakfast was excellent and evening meal was quite good (perhaps a little slow) but if you pushed me to make a negative comment it would be that the hotel's restaurant area for evening meals doesn't have a lot of atmosphere, really not very cosy and inviting. However, I would still recommend the hotel to friends.”

“Overall the hotel was very nice, booking on line was very fast and effective, plus booking with active hotelssaved us alot of money. everything is in very close walking distance with a weatherspoons up the road! only problem is that the hotel parking lot is about a five min walk away so with cases could be a problem, but they offer great discount on the parking”

“Our weekend was spoiled by two nights of disturbed sleep due to banging doors. Whilst it is difficult to do anything about inconsiderate guests, having door closures which cushion both room doors and the doors accessing the stairwell would have helped hugely.”

• excellent breakfast - lots of choice and as much as you like!
• Parking was not at the hotel and you had to pay! It was discounted, but still slightly inconvienient.

“The hotel was easy to find. The instructions for parking were not very clear, and were still unclear when we called the hotel. We had to park the car and go into the hotel to get directions to the car park that was discounted! The hotel itself was very nice. The room was quite small, but clean. You could hear next doors TV some times though! Breakfast was good. Lots to chose from, and as much as you like! The hotel is in a great area - across the road from the sea front, 3 cheap pubs within 1 min walk! and only a 5 min walk to the pier.”
