Research User Reviews for InterContinental Berlin (1-13 of 13)

David from Arlington, VA
“The world-class architecture of IC Berlin inside & out made this an interesting place to stay & easy to find when returning from being out & about. Although it is in a fine location, next to the Tiergarten & the shopping of Charlotte burg, it is a hike to get to other parts of town so be prepared or move to public transport: more neck in this than most other German cities. Staff was courteous, gracious & friendly but prepared to pay for any & every additional thing you want/need/do. Unlike a Holiday Inn Express parking, internet & pool access are not free even though you are paying top dollar!” Jan 7, 2008 by
Barbara from Brooklyn, NY
“The Sofitel is completely average: modern cookie-cutter design and small basic room. The staff (reluctantly) does the bare minimum for its guests. I went across to the Intercontinental and was given more assistant there, as a non-guest, than at my own hotel.” Dec 20, 2007 by
Bill from Wake Forest, NC
“Perfect in every way.” Nov 26, 2007 by
Claire from Hoboken, NJ
“The room was very comfortable but small, though I thought the carpet looked dirty. The hotel lobby is great and the breakfast is excellent. The staff are very helpful and courteous. I felt robbed with the price of internet per day. It should be complimentary or nominal in a 5 star hotel.” Apr 2, 2007 by
Tim from Campbell, CA
“Now it's out of the way, and no where near the politically or historically significant sites --unless you count the zoo.” Jan 10, 2007 by
Colin from Calgary, AB CA
“Well situated with regards to public transport, restaurants and some attractions. Rooms a little on the small size but very attractive. Lobby area expansive with beautiful floral arrangements and decorations.” Aug 21, 2006 by
Kirit from Westlake Village, CA
“My wife and I stayed here August 15th-17th, 2006, the week after the foiled London terrorists who were to bomb US-bound flights using liquid explosives. In air transit we had lost our luggage due to all the confusion at Heathrow, and the staff at the Intercontinental Berlin, especially Yvonne at the Hotel Registration Desk, went way out of their way to help contact the airline and get our bags delivered to our room. We were in Germany to attend a wedding, and we would have been in great trouble without our bags w/ our wedding clothes. They even allowed us to use their business center for free. Tom, one of the concierges, was also very helpful in assisting us in exploring the big multicultural city of Berlin with all its historical significance. We'd stay here again if we went to Berlin again.” Jul 27, 2006 by
Cindy from Austin, TX
“Great location near shopping and the zoo. Great pool/spa.” Jul 25, 2006 by
Chris from Boston, MA
“Very stylish, centrally located hotel in the heart of Berlin. Lots of nice amenities and very attentive staff.” Jul 18, 2006 by
Robert from Walla Walla, WA
“On the outside, the hotel looks like a little dated, not as hip as the new hotels in the middle of Berlin. But it's very close to the gay areas of town and really comfortable and modern on the inside. Only problem: really they should give Internet access for free. And there was no indication that the breakfast cost money. I assumed it came with the hotel room, which is often the case, but it turned out to be really expensive (22 Euros).” May 4, 2006 by
Ellen from Melrose, MA
“Located in an interesting area of Berlin, very convenient to public transportation. Hotel is clean, upscale, a pleasant place to stay.” Apr 20, 2006 by
John from Redmond, WA
“From the intercontinental, you have to walk a bit to get to the sites, showing, and subway (a good 10 minute walk). But if you can handle that, it is a great hotel.” Nov 1, 2005 by
Giovanni
“I would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers and hope to stay there again during my next trip to Berlin.” Hotel Representatives:
