  • It had character. Staff was friendly, nice rooms.
  • The shower was in the middle of the bathroom all flooded! Cold rooms!

“Overall, recommended. The hotel is good for the summer since it is close to a nice park and not to far from the center. Private entrance and arty atmosphere. Good for travel with souse/partner or friends. Staff was very friendly and helpful.”

  • Location and bathroom configuration.

“The hotel is located off of tram line 2 and can be easily accessed from Central Station. It is about a 50 minute walk or 15 minutes by tram. The hotel is located next to Vondel Park (a huge park in the inner ring of Amsterdam. The bathroom configuration was a little unusual due to the fact it was walled in by frosted glass. Overall it was a great hotel, they have places to park bikes (if you rent like we did) and wireless in the lobby.”

  • Prompt response to AC problem - changed room.
  • First clerk told us breakfast included - next clerk said not.

“This is a comfortable hotel, outstanding for the price in euros! Rooms are not very conveniently arranged, and baths are enclosed in an unusual (frosted) glass enclosure - coffee maker had no instructions. The coffee was instant. Conveniently located on tram line 2 which goes to the Train Station as well as museums.”

  • The location was great. It was walking distance to the old section of town.
  • The room was on the small side.

“The staff was friendly and the hotel was close to the old part of Amsterdam. They provide free internet service in the lobby. The room was smaller than I expected, but it was a room to sleep. We spent hardly any daytime in the hotel. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I was very happy with the price.”

  • The staff was very accommodating.
  • Bathroom shower curtain was stained.

“This hotel is in an industrial area next to the port in Rotterdam. Convenient if you intend to take a river cruise (although I wouldn't recommend them). While the hotel itself was not nice, the view from the restaurant was lovely as was the food. We forgot some of the cheese we had purchased in the refrigerator in the room and the staff was kind enough to find it and then send it to us. The service was definitely superior. The hotel does not have any parking, but fortunately there was a car park a block or so away because we definitely were not going to leave our car on the street. This hotel is ok for a one night stay, but I wouldn't suggest any longer.”

  • The room was cute, staff helpful, park beautiful.
  • We had 2 problems with water - a leak and shut-off.

“This hotel is a really nice boutique hotel and a good value. Rooms are small, but all amenities are just right - chic design, comfortable duvets and bed. The staff were very helpful. We did have problems with a water line - staff responded quickly and helpfully. It seems the hotel is being upgraded to resolve some of these issues. The hallways were not sparkling clean, but the room was. A nice value.”

“On arrival to hotel we couldnt check in until 2 o'clock although they locked away our luggage in a safe room while we went and did some sight seeing until two. Using public transport was great and convienient with the #2 tram/strippenkart stop 100 metres away named Emmastraat. This hotel is close to the Ryks Museum and Leidsepleine being only a few stops away. This tram carries on to Dam square (close to the redlight district) the stop after the one called Spui. Trams start running early and stop late 1 am. Anyway more about the hotel - its based near the Vondelpark and once found it is very easy to remember where it is situated. Staff were wonderfully pleasent and helpful. They serve a free breakfast in the mornings from 8 am to 10 am. I cant comment on that as I wasnt up in time so the local BK and Maccy D's was a fair shout. Rooms are kept very warm and cleaned daily by Chambermaids. Kept wonderfully tidy and clean. This hotel was a pleasure to stay at with the Hoffbar (on site bar) where you can get a drink next to a open fireplace. Would reccommend very strongly this hotel to all (expecially couples). Absolutely delightful and lovely overview of this great value for money 3 star hotel.”
