• Sincerely caring staff.
• The hotel was far outside of Amsterdam.

“If you can stand the bathroom that was last renovated in the 1980's, and if you have a lot of spare time to waste on public transportation, go there by all means. Don't go there if you expect a 4 star
hotel within the city limits of Amsterdam.”

• We arrived at 8 AM in the morning after a long and grueling series of flights. Checked right in!
• Breakfast was not included.

• The beds are really comfortable and good location for the Dam and airport.
• The staff was very argumentative.

“The room was cleaned on a daily basis but dirty mugs and glasses were left in the room, I was never advised about the construction and on the first morning was awoken by loud talking and scraping at my window at 8:10 in the morning, no directory to call reception or anywhere else and then they wanted to charge me for calls made to their hotel because my line was not working and the receptionist hung up on me 10 times, I think by now you can see why I was very displeased with my stay.”

• Nice beds.
• Surcharge of 20 Euros to use the restaurant was absurd.

“The hotel was very nice. However, they charge 20 euros per person to sit at the hotel restaurant not including any food. This is something I have never seen before and is not only arrogant but plain insulting to the customer.”

• Too far from downtown Amsterdam.

“Our 1 night stay served its purpose. We had just disembarked a river cruise and had stayed in AMS 2 nights before the cruise. This location is too far from all the sights of AMS but a great location to access the airport and avoid taking an overly expensive taxi.”

• The location was by the airport not in the city.

“If you are a business traveler and need to be by the airport it would be fine. If you want to experience Downtown Amsterdam then this is not the place.”

• Basic. Very little amenities.
• Breakfast a total rip off for 21Euro. Other meals good.

“A good hotel to visit Amsterdam for middle aged couple. Tram outside of door very handy. In the event of very wet weather no facilities in hotel except for a small gym. Internet facilities a bit pricey at 30cents plus per minute.”

“Very friendly hotel with great service. Definitely to be recommended. Great access to public transport. However it is a way out of the centre and there are no local facilities shops/restaurants etc.”

• Food was average; a bit far from Center for tourists.

“The rooms were very comfortable and nice. We knew that we were not in the Center of Amsterdam, but did not anticipate how crowded the tram would be to get to the hotel. Once we discovered the Metro Subway, things went much better. Only other negative was the food in the restaurant - we are vegetarians, and it was a very limited menu for us, and a pretty sad excuse for a cheese sandwich. I would imagine this hotel would be great for business travelers, given its proximity to the Subway as well as the airport train.”

• Comfortable bed and nice shower.
• Horrible location and lack of amenities - everything cost extra.

“This is a terrible hotel for a vacationer to Amsterdam. The location is simply inadequate, at the end of a single tram line with no easy access to the center, day or night. There are no nearby restaurants or even shops, forcing you to eat at the overpriced hotel restaurants. Everything costs extra here - internet access is a ridiculous 35 euro cent a minute, and Wi-Fi is 20 euro per day.”

• Rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff is ok not overly friendly. Bellboy who is also concierge is helpful and friendly. Close to trolley.
• Front desk staff ok, not overly friendly. A little far from town center.

“Our stay was pleasant. The room is clean and bigger than most European hotel rooms. The beds are very comfortable. Would be nice to have some lotion provided. Would be nice to have a fan in the bathroom. The front desk staff was okay, but, not overly friendly or helpful. Would be nice to have somebody manning the concierge desk. We were lucky to catch the bellman that was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is a little out of the way. However, the trolley station is fairly close. Takes about 30 minutes to get to the center of town. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back again.”

“This is a nice 3 star hotel with clean modern rooms. Those expecting a 4 star hotel may be disappointed with the poor bathroom towels, lack of toiletries, and lack of a room safe. It is convenient to public transit (tram line 4) but not near anything interesting.”

• The bathroom had a tub.
• I had the absolute worst experience in the first morning with breakfast. The bartender/server was rude and I was served raw eggs. I left without eating.

“The lobby was redone during my stay and is now very nice. The staff was truly exceptional - so polite and friendly - not just uttering have a nice day because their boss said to. The location is poor for those who wish to spend time in the city. It's a one hour walk or a pricey cab ride after midnight when the trams stop. The shower was very powerful but the windows didn't open so I was forced to use the air con. I wouldn't stay there again because the location was unsuitable. It's ideal for those with a car, those attending concerts at the nearby RAI Amsterdam or for early birds who can otherwise take the tram service.”

• It was not a 4 star hotel in any way so I was very unhappy.

“To make this clear this was not a 4 star hotel. It did not have the features one would expect for 4 stars. It was 3 stars at best.”

• It is in a very quite location far from the center of the city.
• You have to take bus or metro about 20-30 min to the city.

“I was upgraded to executive class, maybe four star accommodations at this level, but no bell hop out side front entrance to assist with baggage or directions for parking. Water and fresh snack would have been good complimentary snacks in addition to the wine and chocolates.”

“This was a very nice place to stay. It seemed very safe, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was quite nice. If I ever return to Amsterdam, I would wish to stay again, even though it is a bit off the beaten path. Public transportation made everything very accessible.”

“After being gone all day, we returned to find the room door ajar. Evidently the housekeeper failed to shut it. Also the room was not cleaned the entire four nights we were there. ”

“This hotel was very far out of the city center, had bad decor, the bedding had specks of glitter that I am still finding a week later and didn't have a quick check-out. Overall, I wouldn't go back.”

• Everyone spoke PERFECT English! Near tram & bus lines.
• Not within walking distance from the City Center, but the trams made up for it.

“The Staff was FANTASTIC! Everyone spoke PERFECT English, very friendly and very helpful! Too far from the City Center and airport. I would have liked to walk there, but local transportation made it very easy to get around. Hotel only like 2 blocks from tram line and bus just around the corner.”

• Well, you definitely got what you paid for meaning just a basic room.

“I liked the hotel. It was a very basic room for two. The bed was not the most comfortable, but for a $100 per night it worked just fine! As I said earlier, I would definitely recommend this Holiday Inn to friends traveling to Amsterdam as a very low cost option!”

“The hotel is NOT anywhere near central Amsterdam, it takes at least 20 minutes by train to get to anything other than hotels. We wasted HOURS going to and from the hotel and plenty of money on taxi's when the tram stopped running.”

• Friendly staff checked me in at 8 am of transatlantic arrival!
• Hidden charge of Euro 20 ($25) for breakfast.

“Good location a short walk from "RAI" conference center. Also, a 2 minute walk to tram line #4 which takes you directly in 20 minutes to the very center of the city. Would stay here with my family on vacation, but watch the fancy but expensive breakfast.”

“This one in Amsterdam was one of the best apart from the location. In this part, if one is visiting the city for a weekend leisure trip they end up spending long days outside and going back only at the end of the day or evening, to sleep. Also, it is not convenient on your check out day to come back for the luggage although they would store it for you, so you end up paying for a beautiful hotel but not using the facilities. ”
