  • Convenience to airport can't be beat. 2 minute walk from hotel to check in.
  • Not good if you have to go in and out of hotel property frequently airport traffic.

  • No microwave, refrigerator in room. A charge for internet.

“It was great being right at the airport. Very comfortable beds. No fan in the bathroom. There was a $14.99 internet charge. Would have liked a microwave and refrigerator in the room.”

  • The check-in clerk kept insisting we had two rooms, which we did not and charged us incorrectly.

  • Surprisingly quiet for an airport hotel and the rooms did not smell musty which is common in Tampa.
  • Rains caused the roof to leak and drip down the outside wall.

“They keep this really well maintained for a 40 year hotel, but it is definitely showing its age. It is probably experiencing some issues from all the construction at the airport, but it could use some major structure maintenance.”

  • Great staff, excellent facilities, and fantastic location.
  • Our first room was too close to the room next door. We could hear their conversation.

“The first night we stayed there we had a problem. We could hear the people in the adjacent room very clearly. This problem was compounded by the fact that they stayed up very late. I was not too happy that we could hear them so easily and requested a new room. The staff at the hotel honored my request and placed us in better room with some upgrades at no charge. The staff at this hotel was great! We loved the new room and we loved the dining facilities. Next time we are in Tampa I will try to get this hotel again.”

  • Being located in the airport was a pain.

“The hotel itself was very nice - furnishings, rooms, staff, were all great. It didn't have complimentary hi-speed wireless, which was annoying. The major pain was its location, however - noise from the airport wasn't the issue, more so the pain of driving in & out of the airport several times per day.”

  • The bed was very comfortable.
  • The rooms do not come with DVD player nor does the TV has the capability to connect to a DVD. It cost $80 to rent a DVD.

“The hotel is rated 3 stars. It doesn't make sense that there are no DVD players in the room or at least build into the TV. I explained to the manager I was told that you offer a DVD rental, however, when I checked in they stated that there are no DVD players to rent. I was receiving conflicting stories. The manager did not charge us, which I was grateful. They rolled another TV with a DVD player into my room.”

  • Easy checkin. Hotel staff calls you by name. Airport location with food.
  • Not very accommodating for smokers. Had to go to parking lot.

“Check in was great. When I call desk for information, they answered with my name and were prompt with answers. Everything except the checkout was wonderful. When I checked out, the clerk didn't know how to process it and had no help. I had no extra charges through out my stay on the card, but when I returned home, my card had been charged again. It took several phone calls ( and a lot of my time) to hotel and bank to clear it up. If not for that my stay was perfect.”

  • The casual restaurant was not open for dinner. The swimming pool was not heated.

“The guest rooms are very nice and the front desk staff is very friendly. The formal dining room is very nice, but the casual dining room is not open for dinner. There is a charge for internet access, but the airport offers free wife a few feet away.”

“This hotel has beautiful public areas, a very nice cocktail lounge, as well as several very good restaurants. This is very convenient for traveling as the hotel is literally in the airport; however, for the leisure traveler it is the last place you would want to stay. Because of Tampa¿s infrastructure, it is not economical at all to stay here if you plan to venture off from the hotel. A mile cab ride to restaurants and entertainment was bucks one way. Car rental isn't much easier. Getting to the hotel by car is very tricky and you either have to pay for valet or pay for short term parking in the airport garage and walk to the hotel, as there is no guest parking available. The amenities and the room were great, and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the airport. I recommend for business travel, but not if you're going to any area sporting venues or amusement parks.”

  • We stayed in Tampa Bay on vacation--not expecting an airport hotel.

“My family was on vacation, so I was disappointed to be placed in an airport hotel. While the room was nice, it didn't have a refrigerator, safe or anything needed for more than an overnight stay. The pool and hot tub were pretty basic, and the water was extremely cold in both the first night we were there--though the hot tub was hot the next night. Location and amenities are appropriate for a vacation.”

  • Very quiet, clean and luxurious hotel rooms on concierge floor.
  • There was a charge to Internet and cable channels were limited.

“Tampa Marriott airport was a very nice airport hotel. There was no noise from the airport. Location by airport was ~15 minutes from Tampa attractions. Very quiet, clean and luxurious (plush comforters and pillows, nice robes, good furniture,...) hotel rooms on concierge floor. Staff worked with us on special requests.”

  • The staff was superb. From the lobby folks to the restaurant crew, lots of smiles!
  • I didn't expect to be inside the airport. Not excellent if doing business in Tampa Area.

“I didn't think I would be placed inside the airport, where traffic was a bit hectic getting in and out. However, the hotel staff more than made up for it, giving me free appetizer coupons etc. They have an excellent revolving restaurant over viewing the runways at airport, and the beds were just heavenly!”

  • Tom Pappas at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I especially liked the comfort and linens of the king-sized bed.
  • I didn't like not being able to use a wireless service for free.

“Very comfortable, nicely appointed, and conveniently located for easy access to the highway. With its location at the airport, anything you might need is within walking distance, without even going outside. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe and pampered.”

  • Very friendly staff and fabulous room. Loved the down linens and fresh fruit in our room. Great stay even if you are not flying out!

“I was very skeptical when our hotel ended up in the airport. What a great surprise. The hotel was wonderful. Very luxurious and very convenient to local attractions. Parking was even free. Our room even had complimentary fresh fruit, bottled water and 3 newspapers delivered to our room. No issues with planes. They seem to stop flying after 9 pm. Great restaurant upstairs and some fun shopping in the very modern airport. Linens were awesome as well as bath products, from Bath & Body works!”

  • The comfort of the room was fantastic.
  • Housekeeping did not bring the towels I requested for my 2 rooms. I called when I ordered room service about 10:30 Saturday night.

“The bellman Charles was fantastic. Very helpful and explained about the restaurants and where everything was located. Never had anyone ever taken the time to do so at any hotel. The lobby was beautiful so was the pool and workout room. The hallways were pretty and our room was very nice. The beds were comfortable as your other hotels. If you had feather bed also I would have never wanted to leave. The bedding is quite cozy though. The room service was so good. The staff was friendly and professional. We had a late night meal Saturday with Pizzas and salads and chips. Very good. Our Sunday breakfast was so good. Everything was top notch. Fresher than making it yourself. The foods they use are organic and it shows in the presentation and the taste. Just over the top good. We will want to come back. We stayed over for our Busch Garden trip. I did a search outside that area and would have never thought we would have had such a nice, beautiful place to stay. ”

  • Convenience or easy walk to airport terminals.
  • Did not have free computer access, like most other chain hotels do (a free business center).

“Airport exceptional convenience, room nice but no refrigerator or cooler inside. No free business center for computer access. I prefer to use hotel cart to carry in our luggage or hotel would not allow it, and were insistent we utilize their bellhop (which mandated tipping him, of course). I find that offensive.”

  • Would like a shuttle to Int'l Mall, or other areas.

“The rooms were beautiful, with feather beds that just made you melt and bath and body works toiletries. The rooms were quite quiet considering it is in the airport and watching the planes take off and land was a blast. The swimming pool was very clean and warm, the deck area had plenty of lounge chairs and food and beverage service. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.”

  • Incredible location steps from terminal. Rooms beautifully appointed.
  • High-speed Internet is an extra charge of $12.95.

“For travelers needing a TPA airport location there is simply nothing better than this, steps from the main terminal attached by a corridor (no need for a shuttle). Rooms are beautifully renovated and luxurious, and the beds are sumptuous. Food in the restaurants is excellent, and I would certainly stay there again.”

“First requested a smoking room and did not get it. Second, the staff is continuously brushing you off when you have a problem. Call and complaint about beds. Lots of feathers were on the bed cover and they were poking through the sheets like needles. Had to order an extra blanket, which was not in the room, to put over mattress so I can get a decent night sleep. When I complained about it in the morning they told me they knew about the problem but still let guests sleep in the bedroom. The service in the cafe or bar downstairs was terrible, they basically threw the plates of food on the table when they served. What pisses me off, I called Marriott customer service to complain about the room and nobody called me back.”

  • This hotel is extremely convenient for airport travelers.
  • No complaints.

“The Marriott Tampa Airport is clean, comfortable, and extremely convenient for travelers. Our room was small, but nice. It looked as if it had been remodeled very recently. Surprisingly, we hardly noticed the airport noise. We were able to check- in over two hours early even though the hotel had been full the previous night. There are many convenient dining options in the hotel and the adjacent airport. Parking is free for hotel guests. For an early flight out of Tampa, you can't find a better hotel. We were at our gate less than 20 minutes after checking out.”

  • It was nothing special.
  • Charging for internet access, Paying $17.00 before tip for a breakfast buffet, that was good not great.

“The hotel was fine, but I didn't like being on the airport grounds. It really upsets me to have to pay for internet access. Most properties offer it for free. I will never stay there again. I used to stay at full service Marriott all the time but I don't anymore. Not only are their prices high, they get you for every extra imaginable. IE local phone, internet service, parking etc. Ritz Carleton does the same thing but the service and immunities are much better.”
