“I was appalled by the state of this room. Incredibly small and incredibly noisy. Having to park across the street for a $25.00 price was insulting!” Aug 21, 2008 by
Juanita from Mission, TX
“We enjoyed our family stay at this hotel. Rooms were clean, nice, and good sized bathroom. I wish the river would have been a little more accessible.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Francene from Corpus Christi, TX
“I would recommend this hotel to anyone, one of the best hotels yet. The linens were so clean and soft. I normally bring my own sheets when traveling.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Janna from Brazoria, TX
“Overall, was a good experience. It's at the end where there are no restaurants and nothing happening. Had to walk 8 plus blocks to get to where the action was. But it was a nice place, with nice staff.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Juneth from Copperas Cove, TX
“I like the motel in general, but it said it was on the Riverwalk, it was but not close to any attractions. We walked 4-6 blocks to get to the Mall, the main stores in the Riverwalk and the Alamo. There was a lot of construction around the motel, so it was hard to get around. It was quiet and simple.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Theresa from Houston, TX
“Overall, a good place to stay in San Antonio.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Belinda from Victoria, TX
“When I called the hotel initially I was treated rudely by the representative. So I hung up and called again, got a different girl and she took my request with no problem. She apologized for the previous treatment. Also, the hotel did not have enough luggage carts, because there were a lot of people having to carry their suitcases including us upon when checking out. They just kept saying they were all being used. Two elevators I think were not working. There were a lot of people complaining about that. When were trying to leave on Sunday we had to wait forever. All elevators were full and they opened about 15 times while were waiting. I finely got smart and requested an elevator going up and sure enough we got an empty one shortly after that. Ofcourse we had to go up first, but that did not take too long. It was crazy. A lot of people were upset and taking the stairs. Other than all of this our, overall, stay was pleasant. Love San Antonio as always.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Stephanie from Cleburne, TX
“Stay here! It is a little further walk to the Riverwalk but well worth it. The staff here was much more helpful, the rooms were larger, and the atmosphere was less stuffy than at another hotel that is very close to the Riverwalk. Good job, Crowne Plaza! Keep it up!” Aug 5, 2008 by
Hugh C. from Miami, FL
“It was a very nice establishment near the River Walk!” Aug 3, 2008 by
Mary from Houston, TX
“Very nice hotel. However, we ask for directions to Riverwalk activities and we were told to walk about 6 blocks through an unsafe neighborhood.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Karen from Tyler, TX
“When staying here you are not paying for your room you are paying for a fancy lobby. The rooms were small and freezing. Our thermostat was stuck on 60 and we couldn't shut it off. Parking is overrated.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Kerry from Sanger, TX
“I paid $90.93 just to park my car for three days; two of the four elevators did not work, during a convention, long waits.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Ben from Spring, TX
“Off the beaten path but still on the river. This hotel is right on a branch of the River Walk but away from the bustle of the main loop. All of the downtown attractions are in easy walking distance and self parking on the weekends (open lot with pay box) is easy and cheap $3 in and out. The rooms and common areas were clean. The common areas were very upscale looking. The restaurant has a $15 breakfast and on discount was offered making it not too family friendly in that regard. The staff was friendly and helpful, but amateurish. They said they would take the movie off our bill but did not do so. Overall our stay turned out well.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Linda from Tilbury, ON CA
“The hotel was lovely, as was the room. We returned from the River walk at 7:30 specifically to have dinner in the dining room. It was closed. The only thing open was the bar with bar snacks. She handed us the lunch menu which was a repeat of the bar snacks. A little disappointing considering we wanted a meal. She could not multitask and many waited while she mixed drinks. Always keeping an eye on the TV with the baseball game. When we complained about the closed dining room. We were told it had been a management decision. When we left the bar at 9:00 there were 30 people.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Wenceslao from Mission, TX
“Other than the parking all was ok. I did get billed for the room by them and am still working to get the charge off my credit card. Spoke to some one last week and as of today has not been fixed. I will give them until next Monday to correct before I contact them again.” Jul 12, 2008 by
Gracie from Mcallen, TX
“The employees were not helpful. When we needed something and called to asked for it, the employees said they would take it to us, but never got there, nor told us they were not coming. We waited for nothing. Also, we had to pay over $20.00 per day for the parking space. You had to use your card to get out, but it never worked, so we had to wait a long time just to get our car out of the parking lot.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Jose from Laredo, TX
“The bathtub was very slippery. I slipped and had to grab on to the curtain rail to avoid falling. The elevators were taking way too long and were always full. We ended up taking the stairs up six flights several times.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Helen from Forney, TX
“The location is great, if you don't want to be right in the middle of all the action on the Riverwalk. We enjoyed the walk from the hotel to the "action", and appreciated the calm & quiet directly around the hotel. For us, the location was ideal. I realize many travelers would prefer to be right in the center of the action though, and this is not the hotel for that. Everything was clean, the staff was friendly & helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay.” Jun 15, 2008 by
Joni from Alvin, TX
“Nice hotel, but in poor location, did not feel safe. Additional charge of 24.00 per day for parking was unexpected.” Jun 5, 2008 by
John from Millington, TN
“Overall the place was great and the staff was so helpful and cheerful.” May 23, 2008 by
Carly from Houston, TX
“This hotel is 15 minutes from the Riverwalk. The staff were not friendly. They did not know the correct price for the breakfast buffet. The room had trash in it and the beds were hard. There was food left from room service by the door of another room for three days!” May 8, 2008 by
Rosa from Uvalde, TX
“The room was nice and the location. I didn't like that we paid 71 dollars for the parking in the hotel, 23 dollars per day. We will never stay there again.” May 7, 2008 by
Christina from Littleton, CO
“If you want a drink in the lounge make sure you don't wait for someone to come to get your order. You could go thirsty waiting for them. Nachos gross. Very stale and beans just in a pile.” May 7, 2008 by
Ruby from Houston, TX
“It was our expectation to have a short getaway and relax. When we checked-in at the hotel we were glad to see that we were given executive level labeled, quiet zone, room but it was not quiet at all. Our neighbors had children that went from room to room and every time a toilet flushed we heard it. It was very annoying all through the night. When we talked with the staff they were not understanding at all. This was not a good trip for us.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Norman from Leesburg, TX
“I think charging guests $23.75 a day to park in the parking garage is too much. We have paid half this amount or less at 4 star hotels in other cities.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Norma from Dallas, TX
“Overall it was an excellent stay. The main part of the Riverwalk was a good walking distance away. The boys loved the swimming pool even though it was a little chilly in the evening. Not crowded. Went during Fiesta festival. Front desk could have been a little more accommodating with suggestions of where to go around town.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Rosario from Dallas, TX
“The room was perfect. Staff was decent. I will be returning to the Crown Plaza River walk San Antonio next year!” Apr 22, 2008 by
Sandy from Corsicana, TX
“I was unhappy because I thought it was on the river walk. It was but the ghetto river walk and no where to eat close by no breakfast I am not someone to complain but very unhappy.” Mar 30, 2008 by
Rosy from El Paso, TX
“This hotel is not located in the main area of the river walk but the walk is also not that far. The parking at the hotel is irrationally expensive. But there is a lot around the corner that charges only $8 per day.” Mar 29, 2008 by
Jennifer from Republic, MO
“Loved how close it was to downtown activities including Riverwalk and Alamo. Only a few blocks to everything. Parking at hotel somewhat expensive but worth it. Valet parking personnel were awesome. Room and public areas clean. Restaurant food good. Would definitely stay here again.” Mar 29, 2008 by
Neil from Waverly, MN
“Decent hotel for business, not recommended for families. Staff was rude. When we checked in they all kind of snickered. My fiancé told me when the bellboy was handling our bags he was singing "Country Roads". Bad area. There was an abandoned apartment complex and parking ramp across the street. Someone parked in the ramp and their car was lit on fire. I could see the whole thing from my room. Speaking of parking your daily options were: valet=30$, hotel self park 1 block away=23.50$, various unsecured no in and out lots=8$, 3$ lots which were covered with broken glass assumable from thieves.” Mar 28, 2008 by
Jody from West Seneca, NY
“The first 3 nights there was a big convention/reunion. We didn't get much sleep because they were extremely loud, usually until around 5:00 a.m. We were there because our daughter graduated from basic training for the Air Force and the ceremonies were all scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. The last 2 nights were very nice. I just feel they should have kept the other guest for the reunion on the same floor so the rest of us could sleep.” Mar 24, 2008 by
Tina from Houston, TX
“My family enjoyed our stay at the hotel. All requests were promptly answered and done in a friendly manner. I only wish we didn't have to pay 24 dollars to park our car daily and have to tip every time they retrieved it for us. That was quite a bit after 4 days.” Mar 19, 2008 by
Roger from San Antonio, TX
“Very nice hotel with friendly staff. There was no fridge. TV was rather limited. Valet parking pretty expensive and self-parking was across a busy street. But, all in all I would stay there again.” Mar 14, 2008 by
James from Temple, TX
“Excellent hotel for the price except for the noise in the plumbing and the beds were so uncomfortable we left a day early without a refund.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Brandon from Fort Worth, TX
“This was a very nice hotel. I would recommend it highly.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Mike from Groves, TX
“This is a nice hotel but not a 3-star, very good staff but in a poor location.” Mar 11, 2008 by
Cheri from Green Bay, WI
“Very nice hotel. Would recommend it to friends traveling to San Antonio!” Mar 9, 2008 by
Bonnie from Farmersville, TX
“While everyone was nice, and the rooms reasonably clean, we were upset by the $25.00 per night additional parking and not being able to cool the room. We had to purchase a fan even after changing rooms! At least the second room was cleaner! Do not eat at the hotel, the food was tasteless and we were sick the rest of the night. The hotel was very convenient, right on the river and within walking distance to the Alamo, but I have stayed in other Crown Plazas and was disappointed by this one.” Mar 9, 2008 by
Nicole from Diamond Bar, CO
“Hotel well worth the money I paid. Rooms are large and clean. Linens were comfortable.” Mar 7, 2008 by
Bill from Middletown, CT
“A good 15 minute walk from Convention center.” Mar 7, 2008 by
Gail from Las Cruces, NM
“Crowne Plaza was nicer and in a better location. than I expected. This used to be an Adams Mark and is still being upgraded. Ice machines did not work on any floor and access to high speed internet is limited to three floors at this time but I think that when renovation is completed that these issues will be resolved. Having said that the staff moved us to a room with wireless access, brought buckets of ice to us upon request and so our stay was very satisfactory. Rooms are pretty and very nicely furnished. The beds are great and that is, after all, probably the most important thing. The water taxi on the River walk stops right at this hotel so it was very, very convenient to go to dinner or just tour around. Because it is a bit at the "end" of the River walk location is quiet and not congested. I would stay here again.” Mar 6, 2008 by
Vb from Weymouth, MA
“Overall had a great stay. The only slight negatives: The last stretch of Riverwalk before the hotel was quite secluded, and the area behind the hotel was not someplace I would want to walk alone at night. Parking was expensive for hotel guests ($23/night) and the underground walkway from the garage to the hotel had a musty odor to it, which they seemed to try to cover up with a floral smelling air freshener not that big of a deal, just a fore warning!” Mar 6, 2008 by
Bluzette from West Allis, WI
“Well worth the money spent! Great place and great city! Thank you.” Mar 5, 2008 by
Crystal from Centreville, VA
“The Crowne Plaza was very clean, and the staff extremely helpful. We even asked for a late check-out by 2 hours and it was no problem. We didn't have to pay for it. It is located on the northwest side of downtown San Antonio and, while located on the river walk, is a short walk to the main river walk area. The only two complaints I have are: 1) the blackout curtains in the room are set in-place and only shut out 1/6 of the window on each side. Therefore, you could not sleep in at all because you had no control over closing the window shades; and, 2) parking at the hotel was somewhere around $23.75 per day. Fortunately, there was a parking lot literally across the street for $8 per day, which we used the entire 3 nights we were there.” Mar 5, 2008 by
Shirley from No Richland Hills, TX
“Hotel was great, everyone was great to help and accommodate our needs. The parking garage was quick when the car was needed and we got everything we ask for. My only complaint is the parking seem too expensive.” Feb 29, 2008 by
Lori from Humble, TX
“Decent location, rooms were nice, yet small, staff was great-restaurant and bar were good food and good value, but hotel could use some better maintenance - ice machine broke, elevator to river walk was roke.” Feb 27, 2008 by
Mary B. from Powhatan, VA
“Parking attendants at the hotel were not helpful unless you were choosing to valet. Staff did not communicate the parking requirements for validation, etc.” Feb 27, 2008 by
Sheryl from San Antonio, TX
“The parking garage was very expensive ($23.75 in addition to cost of hotel) and did not seem very secure considering it is in an unsavory part of Downtown. The garage was well lit, but there were winos, homeless people, and what appeared to be streetwalkers loitering on the perimeter of the hotel.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Ben from Austin, TX
“Clean hotel and nice room.”
