• Had small Kitchenette with actual dish-washer / stove / dishes & no one bothered us.
• Prices for small food items were higher than vending machine prices.

“Decent hotel for the price, a bit more clean than Hoffman Estates La Quinta Inn. A lot better than Red Roof Inn room didn't sparkle, but was decently clean.”

• I loved the small kitchenette, the free movies and location.
• The only negative thing I would say is that there is no pool.

“This hotel was much better than I had expected. The room was very clean and the bed was soft and comfortable. Its in a quiet section not too far from some good eating places in the area. If you are looking for a nice comfortable place to stay without hurting your wallet, this is the place. The rooms are super clean and the front desk was very nice and they give you free movies to take back to your room. The only negative thing I would say is there isnt a swimming pool but other than that everything was excellent.”

• The 24 hour cubboard feature was very nice.

“Nicely furnished travellers suite with everything you need to stay long term. Full sized fridge with ice maker. Nice sink/stove/kitchen area. Impressively sized table that doubles as a work desk with loads of room. Internet access was available, wired or wireless.”

• Helpful desk clerks at all shifts.
• Lights did not work in room.

“I arrived late but was greeted promptly. Room was clean, towels were fluffy and nice, internet was free, TV was nice, lots of movies to rent downstairs, and they had a very nice food area to buy inexpensive snacks and meals.”

• Cleanliness, friendly staff, and good location.
• Maid service was only once per week.

“The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly, although I think the maid service should come once per day, it wasn't. Too bad. The room was nice, complete with stove, refrigerator, sink and dish washer. There is also a DVD/VHS player in the room and they even rent you 2 movies for free to watch while you are there. I almost couldn't believe they still use the honor system with the snacks and soda. I like to see that some people in this world are still so honest. All in all great hotel.”

• No bad smells, clean and bright.
• Shower drain slow, no WiFi in rooms.

“Nice basics, perfect for travelers who do not intend to spend much time in the room, but who appreciate comfortable surroundings while there. Could benefit from WiFi in rooms and upgraded fitness center. Very clean and quiet. Staff friendly and competent. Awkward having workman and guests smoking on single bench outside front door. A separate designated smoking area further away would be welcome.”

• I loved the kitchenette, laundry/workout/snack room. Free videos!
• Hamm I don't know. Id stay here again in a heartbeat!

“The room was spotless and very spacious. I loved the kitchen. It was so great to buy fruit and have a fridge to put it in! Also, having a place to heat my water for tea. The snack area surprised me since it was all on the honor system! You rarely hear of that anymore. How wonderful! Everyone was helpful and friendly.”

• Cleanliness, appeal, roomy, accommodating, convenient, self contained, great overall experience.
• Staff didn't give correct directions from the area I was coming from. Gave directions from Chicago.

• We liked the location near visited friends, shopping, and restaurants.
• Not easy to find.

“We liked staying at this hotel because we just needed a place to sleep. Rooms were clean and attractive. Location was ideal for us as it was near friends we were visiting, close to shopping, near good eating places and the race track. We hope to stay there again when we visit the Chicago area.”

• Extended stay meant no daily interruption for housekeeping, which I don't need daily.
• The hotel is not very visible approaching it from the north until you almost pass it.

“As I travel for business often for a few days at a time, the Candlewood has become a favorite. The rooms are clean and the cupboard concept is good to have for your convenience. Also, the exercise area and laundry facilities help in a longer stay. Great place.”
