• Check-in was easy & they even provided warm cookies!
• Did not receive statement under door confirming no additional charges, so I hope I don't get a surprise!

“We checked in late at night after visiting Universal (which was literally right across the street!). There was a gated paid parking lot, but as long as you used your room key to leave, you didn't have to pay (so don't leave it in your room upon checkout). The staff was very nice, except the maid service did knock on our door around 9 am asking when we would be checking out (checkout was at 11 am, so unless you are at our door close to that time, leave us alone!). There was supposed to be a final statement under our door at 6 am, but we didn't get one, so hopefully I don't get any surprise charges as the checkout line, at the desk, was too long to wait for. We just used the express checkout from our room. The room was very clean, larger than we expected, and the beds were very comfortable. Overall, we will definitely visit this hotel again.”

• I liked the modern look of room and the cleanliness of hotel.
• Shuttle service was misrepresented, and paying for hotel parking wasn't mentioned either.

“I really liked Hotel; it was clean and modern. Staff was friendly and helpful. I wasn't prepared for $9.00 a day in parking fees and parking was very hard to find in spaces available.”

• Rooms were of good size, nice appliances, good pool.
• No free internet in rooms. Parking charge.

“Good 3 star hotel, nice pool, appliances. Parking not worth $9 a day. One of the Only Hotels in Orlando I stayed in that you have to pay for it. Free internet in lobby. They should extend it to the guest rooms.”

“Hotel stay was fine. Staff at restaurant not attentive. We had to wait to be greeted and seated when we arrived. We waited about 10 minutes and none came to our table. Two of the glasses on our table were dirty. At $16.95 for a breakfast buffet, there were too many reasons to leave. It wasn't until we got up that we were questioned by a waitress why we were leaving. All the manager did was watching us walk out. Very disappointing!”

• Food wasn't exactly up to par and the maids kept popping in way too early in the morning.

• Beds are awesome. View was great, staff very nice.
• Pillows were a little too hard and plump, neck ache ensued.

“We stayed there on a particularly busy night. There was a convention there and that did not stop everything from being perfect. The staff was polite and helpful, The rooms were clean. The beds are so very comfortable. Only complaint. Pillows are a little too plump for my neck. I will definitely go there again but bring my own pillow.”

• Only need one word-nothing it was a positive experience.

• Warm fresh baked cookies at front desk, beds were very comfortable.
• Parking was not free, it was $9 per day and $14 for valet.

“Valet and Bellman were very nice and helpful! Starbucks in hotel very nice, internet available in business area-not free, but available. Pool area was clean, comfortable. Beds were very comfortable cozy. Lots of nice pillows, etc. Room was very spacious. (2 queens) Still had plenty of room for playpen for infant. Hotel was very good location-several restaurants within walking distance. Would highly recommend!”

• Nice lobby, comfy beds, attentive valet staff.
• I did not like having to explain to my 6 year old about a confederate flag hanging up in a window of a guest's room.

“I complained to management on duty about the confederate flag hanging from a guest's window. Very offensive. Plus, considering it wasn't spring break anywhere, the maniacs staying next to us were very loud and noisy at 3 a.m. We were awoken and put pillows over our heads because no one could quiet them down.”

• I liked the location of the hotel-right at the entrance to Universal.
• There is nothing I disliked about this hotel.

“The hotel was very convenient to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. It was a short 15 minute walk and also had a very convent shuttle to the park. The hotel staff was great-going out of their way to make sure they attended to our needs and our questions. We received many valuable coupons for 2 for 1 drink at City walk and were given directions for wherever we wished to go. The staff was very accommodating!”

• Hard to find I-4 (not hotel's fault).

“This hotel was adequately equipped with room refrigerators, coffee machine, LCD TV and alarm clock. The staff was warm and friendly. Cleanliness was a super plus. If you or your family have nut allergies, avoid the cookies (they tasted great, though!).”

• Remodeled very nicely, very comfortable and very relaxing.
• Not the hotel's fault, there was a high school math convention with lots of kids.

“The staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby, business center, and room were all very clean, very modern, and comfortable. The room was a pleasant surprise, as they had recently remodeled it. The whole experience was very pleasant, and I would stay at the doubletree again.”

• In general everything was great including location.
• The shuttle to universal made many stops which took about 30 minutes. We thought it was a direct shuttle.

“Nice clean rooms, great service and a friendly staff. What else can you ask for? Didn't use the gym or restaurant so can't comment on those but we would recommend this hotel to family and friends.”

• Had to pay for use of in-room safe and daily parking. Also, not enough elevators. Had to wait a lot.

“A+ service and A+ rooms! Very clean and spacious. Fantastic location across from Universal Studios. Only complaint is, having to pay for parking. I shouldn't have to do that if I am already paying for a room.”

“Doubletree - We had a nice, clean room with two beds. There were 4 of us. We needed another bed so they bought us a roll away bed within minutes. It was right across the street from Universal Studios where we were going the next day. Big parking lot for your car.”

“This was a nice hotel very close to Universal Studios. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. My only complaint was having to pay extra for parking and internet access in the room. Prices on everything within the Hotel were unreasonably high (as I guess is to be expected with on-site amenities). There were many stores and restaurants within walking distance that made our stay here convenient.”

• Bathroom did not meet my expectations. Looked outdated

“Carpets were dirty. There are additional fees of $9.00 per day plus tax for parking, since apparently the hotel does not own the parking lot. No clear instructions on how to take the shuttle to theme parks. Bathroom was outdated. Beds were comfortable. Good closet space. Close proximity to Universal.”

• The staff was very poor and the overall facility was more for business and not vacation.

“If I was on a business trip or a conference the hotel stay would have been fine. But since I was there with my small children I was very disappointed in the overall experience. By comparison the Doubletree I stayed at in West Palm Beach was much better overall I thought.”

• The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, room was ready on arrival.
• Parking was $10 extra.

“The staff was friendly and willing to answer any questions that we had. Our room was ready when we arrived and very clean and nicely decorated. We were given warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in and there is a Starbucks coffee located in the lobby. The only negative part is the extra &10 a day to park you car.”

• The hotel was conveniently located and clean.
• They indicated that there was a heated pool and spa, however neither was heated.

“Overall this hotel was good for families. The staff was attentive for the most part. We only had a small incident where we requested clean towels (we accidentally left the do not disturb sign on the door all day) after we had returned from a long hot day at Sea world. The towels were never delivered, after an hour we had to go to the front desk and get them ourselves. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.”

• Musty smell in room, sagging hole in middle of bed.

“Very terrible place, in the process of remodeling but you will lose sleep over bed made with sheet on top of the comforter, sagging hole in middle of bed, terrible musty smell, warm in room, AC must be controlled by front office and set up warm! I would not ever stay there again it is not even worth one star rating! I wrote management a letter of complaint but I doubt that they care!”

• Restaurants closed from 2 to 4pm.

“I would definitely try to book this room again in the future for a similar trip. Very comfortable and I almost stayed an extra night just to enjoy it more.”

• Walking distance to Universal Studios. Very nice, very clean rooms. Helpful staff. Clean pool.
• ONLY drawback for me was smell of chemical cleaners in the room. I am sensitive to these smells.

“Great Hotel. Exceeded what I thought I would get. So close to Universal Studio's that we walked. 20 mines to Disneyworld. Breakfast buffet was fantastic! I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.”
