“The staff and great location made up for the size of the room and hotel though.” Feb 10, 2009 by
Mary from Saratoga,CA
“Had a great time - room was very nice and comfy beds. Check-in staff was quite nice & helpful. Concierge gave us good & correct info on restaurants & clubs. Bell boy was prompt in bringing our luggage upstairs & took time to show us how to work the safe & heater/ac. All in all a nice stay and I'd use this hotel again.” Dec 14, 2008 by
Paul from San Diego,CA
“The hotel looks and smells like a bordello. No parking. Had to leave the shower run for 20 minutes just to get warm water. Very noisy.” Nov 3, 2008 by
Mike
“This is an above average art decor boutique hotel in South Beach. The staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are small, but clean and bright. It is a step-up in class than some of the other nearby boutique hotels. The shower stall is half enclosed and water ends up all over the bathroom floor. I would stay here again.

“The staff was unresponsive at this hotel and walls were paper thin. You will pay more for parking.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Jon from Jacksonville, FL
“This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are wonderful and the staff is excellent.” Jun 28, 2008 by
Nghia from Pomona, CA
“I like this hotel because clean, nice, romantic, close to the beach and fashion (new modern ). Some reception good be friendly warm family, but someone no good. I don't like have service charged internet line. I don't like a elevator it's so slowly for waiting.” May 6, 2008 by
Jose from Milton, MA
“Very cool place but probably not the best for families with small children. The hotel has a European flair to it, and not just because many of the guests were from abroad. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. The concierge/door staff was very friendly and helpful.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Amber from Grove City, OH
“The hotel was very art deco. The smell of grapes that was piped through the hotel really got to me and made me sick. The bathroom and room was very small and very dirty. The shower was cold and did not warm up after waiting over 15 minutes.” Apr 21, 2008 by
John from Jacksonville, FL
“I was uncomfortable with my surroundings at this hotel. I could not put a finger on it, but something was creepy about the hotel in general.” Apr 20, 2008 by
Jamie from Winter Park, FL
“It was very nice and I would definitely stay there again.” Mar 28, 2008 by
Dave from Parker, CO
“It is a great value for the South Miami Beach area if you need a place to crash. The staff is friendly and it is clean. It is close to the beach and great restaurants. However, the walls are paper thin; you may be awoken in the week hours by the rhythm of lovers, or snoring.” Mar 4, 2008 by
Ami from Tampa, FL
“Customer service is extremely poor. Caters to a certain clientele. If you are business travel don't even think about it. Very loud -- late at night -- all hours of the day and night. Would not move my room at all. Did not get any sleep. No room service except breakfast. Gym is a joke. The only plus is the rooms are very urban chic -- no bathtubs -- only shower but cute decor.” Feb 18, 2008 by
Ronald from Stewartstown, PA
“The entrance staff was helpful and friendly. The hallway ambiance was too dark. Washington Ave. can be a little scary at night. The bar never seemed to be open. It looked like this hotel was "happening" at one time, but not anymore.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Jose from Bay Shore, NY
“This hotel is incorrectly rated as a three. It deserves a 1.5. The only friendly staff member was the bellman. The staff made you feel as if you are not wanted there. Perhaps it was the weekend & they wanted off or they are just miserable. Every other hotel I went to the doors were open & hotel employees would greet you with open arms. I stayed at the Clinton a few years ago & never experienced this. The room was cleaned after 3pm & not once the vacuum was used. Under the bed there were dust balls everywhere. I made sure I left nothing on the floor. Would I stay here again, no.” Jan 17, 2008 by
H from Chicago
“Worst Hotel experience ever! So noisy. Don't bother with this one. It's truly terrible.” Jun 11, 2007 by
Chris
“I booked two rooms using their own website and when I arrived, they only had one room reserved so our group of four was stuck in one room with two double beds. The guy at the front desk gave us a better rate, but it was extremely disappointing that they messed up the reservation. Then when we checked out, the discount was not applied and I had to explain the situation to a different person. The location was fantastic and the room, while small, was pretty decent. They provided earplugs but I did not need to use them.” Feb 17, 2007 by
Greg from Alexandria, VA
“The submitted reviews were very accurate. We found this hotel to be in a very convent location to many south beach attractions and the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel pushes an eclectic atmosphere, but it falls short of its rating. First floor room was loud from lobby noise and walls in the room are thin! Overall, not a bad place to lay up for an overnight stay between flight connections.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 14, 2007 by

“This was my second stay at the Clinton hotel in south beach. It was clean and trendy and the staff was great. Please keep in mind that this is a boutique hotel and you might be disappointed if you have higher expectations. The hallways need to be brighter - I know they are trying to be trendy, but if you are walking through alone, it can be quite scary. The elevator needs to be updated soon! But. Great stay!” Feb 13, 2007 by
James from Montgomery, AL
“The hotel was nice but overpriced and noisy. A glass on white wine from the bar cost me $14.00.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 11, 2007 by
Alan from White Plains, NY
“The location was okay. Too much outside noise as a result of thin walls. Heard trucks, neighbors in other rooms just talking not shouting. No cheap price (we paid 150) is worth not being able to sleep.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 2, 2007 by
Xyx from Dalton, MA
“Trendy, upscale, edgy decor. Dark hallways & elevator part of the design. Clean. Staff friendly. Middle of night shouting on street easily audible. Don't expect a typical pool. Close to center of south beach activity but off the 2 main streets. Definitely not for children.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 29, 2007 by
Ari from Far Rockaway, NY
“Charming hotel with a romantic ambiance. A lot is packed in to not a large space - that goes for the hotel public areas and the rooms. Overall I was satisfied with my stay and would stay there again if the opportunity arose.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 28, 2007 by
Chana from Brooklyn, NY
“The hotel is very small. There is hardly a lobby and there is no pool. People going on vacation to Florida would like to have a pool. It is not a beachfront property which is inconvenient. ” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 25, 2007 by
Jim from Bronx, NY
“I was somewhat discouraged by what I say - basically "how can they call this a four-star hotel". But the place was great - a nice pool, although more lounge chairs were needed, a great restaurant and the staff was terrific - very helpful and friendly.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 23, 2007 by
Dena from Orlando, FL
“The hotel Clinton is the perfect hotel to stay at whether traveling for business or for pleasure to south beach. I would not recommend it for families, as it is a quiet little spa hotel, not really the environment for kid-fun. The location is great because it is a short, enjoyable walk to all the night life and beach. The only issue is the length of time to wait for your car. If you are traveling on business and have to be somewhere- you must call ahead for the valet a good 30 to 40 minutes in advanced to get your car- which is a little excessive. But, the hotel staff is wonderful and helpful and out of all of the hotels at south beach I have stayed at, this is by far my favorite in this price range.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 22, 2007 by
Dave from Lincoln, NE
“No parking, dark halls and elevator, I¿ve seen better exercise equipment at wal-mart. Absolutely not a 4 star hotel.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 22, 2007 by
Dennis from Alexandria, VA
“This cool hotel, but don¿t expect a Hyatt Hilton quality 4 star. Its room is decent but small, and the pool/lobby is very small for a 4 start hotel. It¿s a good party spot.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 20, 2007 by
James from Houston, TX
“The rooms are horribly insulated for sound. If you plan on staying here. Bring your ear plugs!” Jan 19, 2007 by
Dave from Chicago, IL
“The amenities of the hotel are overstated. I would not rate the hotel at the 4 star levels. The location is very central to the beach and nightlife. The walls are thin - you can hear guests in other rooms and hallways. ” Jan 18, 2007 by
Jim from Washington, DC
“While the Clinton claims to be a boutique hotel and of four-star quality, I¿ve stayed in much nicer boutique and four-star hotels for lower prices. There's not restaurant in the hotel, and the one next door, 8 1/2, was poorly organized. Several customers were turned away on two mornings I ate there because the kitchen staff couldn't handle them. The public spaces were so dimly lit I felt I needed a flashlight to find my way. I could tell, after closer inspection, those dim lights hid big stains on the carpet and the walls. The rooms were cute and small, but my bathroom had a foul smell the entire time I was there. The pool is tiny and more for decoration, not swimming.” Jan 17, 2007 by
Meg from Silver Spring, MD
“The staff was very helpful and friendly. My room was very clean and neat, though on the small side. The location was great, close to restaurants, the beach and bars.” Jan 17, 2007 by
Nevin from Chicago, IL
“Very nice designs, but I cannot recommend this hotel. We had a very tiny room, the smallest one I every stayed at. Also the walls were so thin that we could understand the words spoken (not yelled) in the neighboring room. Fortunately our neighbors were a group of girls, so we only heard words, and it wasn't as disturbing. However, we woke up whenever they entered or left the room late at night.” Jan 16, 2007 by
Casey from San Francisco, CA
“This is a fun hotel if you don't mind hearing every word your neighbors say and want a party environment. Very loud rooms, poor customer service, and poor business services.” Jan 15, 2007 by
Ian from Saint Petersburg, FL
“This hotel was listed as a four star. It really was a motel with fresh paint, some candles and some crown molding. They put a CD player in the room. I have stayed at 4 and 5 star hotels. This hotel does not meet 4 star standards. Our view from the room was an alley. Only local TV channels. (No HBO, no fox news, no CNN, no CNBC, nothing) this hotel is toted as a chic and modern hotel; it seemed more like an old hotel with fresh paint on it. The staff was nice. The best way to sum it up is this is not a 4 star hotel; it's actually a clean motel with candles.” Jan 14, 2007 by
Amy from Tecumseh, MI
“I felt like I was given the worst room in the hotel. I felt like I stayed in the "it" room. The beds are the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in. My partner and I lost a whole day of vacation due to feeling terrible and having migraine headaches from no sleep and terrible beds. Our room was facing the back side of a bldg with an alley. All night long people screaming, bums fighting over cardboard boxes, garbage trucks in the middle of the night. There is a broken window in the room (321) and we looked at the ac units for the whole hotel out of our window and that¿s all we could hear constantly. There we no menus in the room for room service, called down for a menu and three hours later still no menu. I asked for a better room and had to pay another 100.00 a night to be able to get a room that was somewhat quiet so we could sleep. I feel like I was seriously cheated and for using your service for the first time I am very disappointed.” Jan 2, 2007 by
Glen from Naples, FL
“I was not able to stay at this hotel. I will be filing a formal complaint on this subject. ” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 1, 2007 by
Sheila from Los Angeles, CA
“I was expecting more for a 4 star hotel. The location was great but the hotel was very small with dark hallways and sinking floors. The beds were comfortable and clean. The door keys never worked and the elevator was very small and out of order most of the time.” Dec 29, 2006 by
Matthew from Chesterfield, MO
“This hotel most certainly is not a 4-star hotel. They charge $40/night extra for rooms with 2 beds. They knew I was unhappy with the policy that they waved the extra charge. Valet parking was slow in serving us. We had to park at the bus stop for more than 10 minutes, waiting for valet attendant.” Dec 26, 2006 by
Brian from Charlotte, NC
“Great location and nice looking rooms. The biggest problem with this hotel is that the walls are paper thin. I could hear people talking in the next room. If you stay in the hotel, make sure you do not stay on the Washington ave side of the hotel. This side of the hotel is very noisy with traffic and people walking down the street late at night.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 25, 2006 by

“Poor customer service, not located near anything for families.” Dec 18, 2006 by
Giulio C. from Miami Beach, FL
“This is not a 4 star hotel. It's nice but average. Merits 3 stars.” Dec 7, 2006 by
John from Arlington, TX
“Good location, art deco/modern, still need to upgrade common areas such as lobby, elevator, and pool/spa area.” Dec 6, 2006 by
Alison from Atlanta, GA
“This hotel just feels shady and cheap. It tries to be cool and chic, but things like price stickers on the champagne bottle in the room, the dimly lit hallways, and the over-kill air freshener being pumped through the halls make it feel more like a place that should charge an hourly rate. The "Jacuzzi" on the terrace of the king "loft" is nothing but a large, unsanitary bathtub with jets. The "loft" is just a larger room - and not all that large. The walls are very thin - we could hear the conversations of people in the next room. Compared to the other hotels in this area, this hotel is not a luxury or up-scale hotel.” Dec 6, 2006 by
Stacey from Annapolis, MD
“Not a four star hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms a bit thrown together, cheaply made and shabby. Restaurant good. Close to beach and restaurants. Not at all good if you want to make business calls - noise at a high level everywhere.” Nov 14, 2006 by
Duane from Levittown, PA
“Lobby was interesting & blue, the hallways very dark and cold. The staff was very friendly needs more service help in the restaurant pool area. We left after waiting 10 min in the morning waitress did say good buy as we left. Also there was construction right next door. Wish we could have been told this before booking. We did have a great time in south beach.” Nov 14, 2006 by
Angie from NC
“The hotel is in a great location. We were there for 5 days and never took a taxi. Most everything is in walking distance. The restaurant on site was wonderful. The bar service was excellent (try the raspberry mojitos). Staff was friendly. Only downside was hallways and elevators are very dark and rooms are small. Great place for groups to stay or couples. Do not recommend for traveling with children.” Nov 12, 2006 by
Doug from Dublin, OH
“Decent hotel, nicely decorated, clean rooms and grounds. Walking distance too many shops, restaurants clubs etc. Lunch at attached restaurant was good. Workout area limited. Didn't try spa.” Oct 30, 2006 by
Sara from Portland, CT
“Very nice, just not 4 star quality.”
