• Convenient to Disneyland and shopping. Amenities were what I wanted. Store and laundry exceeded expectations. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
• No pool but that is expected with extended stay hotels.

“I enjoyed the comforts of home at this hotel. Kitchenette was convenient and well stocked. Very cool that the fridge has an ice maker. Laundry is free and the little store prices were adequate. Staff was friendly and helpful. Short drive to Disneyland (5-10 minutes).”

• Roaches, no pool, desk closes at 11 pm, one bed no couch, angry staff.

“My wife, 6 year old and I went to Disney for a work vacation. (I worked they vacationed). When I checked in I was scolded for trying to check in an hour early. Went to my room and found only one bed called down to get a two bed room and was told they don't have any in the hotel but for double my price I could get a room with a small couch. In the morning I was making coffee and a little Roach came walking across the coffee maker, I called down and they said someone would look into it latter. I went down to the little store and found the wall AC unit dripping on the food shelves. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at the staff is rude and the hotel is really only set up for one person traveling and only sleeping in the room, they have no pool and the desk closes at 11 pm, ie no one is around after.”

• The room smelled good and was roomy for one person. It had small kitchen with microwave that was very useful.
• So far I was
  happy with it.

“I stayed at this hotel for four days and I was happy with the money I paid for it. I got a clean, roomy room, and I like the decoration of the room. Even though I did not have daily room service, the hotel gave me enough towels to use for four days. I traveled by myself so making up the bed was not a big deal to me. I was
not sure if you traveled with family. I definitely recommend this hotel to my friends or family members.”

• The staff, the store.
• Didn't think to ask for non-smoking room.

“Well kept and clean. A comfortable bed! It has great extras, like 24 hour fitness room and honor system store, and laundry! I forgot to inquire about non-smoking however, and our room was stinky and airing it out did not work! Woke up stuffy and with headaches!”

• Key card and elevator didn't work properly.

“The hotel worked perfectly for us to visit Disneyland. We will stay in this hotel again and again. Great place to stay. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the one elevator was not reliable. Never knew if it was going to work or not. We stayed three nights and when they programmed our key, they only did it for one night. We got back from Disney near midnight and couldn't get in the back of building or into our room. They fixed the problem within 5 minutes though. It was just a minor inconvenience.”

“Overall the hotel was great although it's a bit far (seeing as how I didn't have a car) from any restaurants or grocery stores (although there is an AM/PM right next door).”

• It was close to Disneyland with available transportation services and close to shopping and restaurants.
• Housekeeping was never done. Only once cleaned our room the whole time we were there.

“The location is excellent and overall it was a nice area, but housekeeping could have been better and it was very noisy during the night with obvious people having parties in there. We also smelled pot in the rooms which was very disturbing for us.”

• It had a complimentary laundry facility. Our studio suite had everything all accommodations i.e. fridge, microwave, iron, laundry basket etc.
• The blow dryer they provide is very outdated. I do not recommend for styling especially long hair.

“The location of the hotel in conveniently located near freeways, restaurants, and shopping centers or malls. There was always parking in the lot. They don't have a parking structure. I recommend this hotel for business travelers or couples. Children would get bored here because there is no pool or any other type of activities for them. Overall I had a pleasant stay.”

• It had thick, plush beautiful towels, a dishwasher, and a very comfortable bed and sheets.
• There was a problem with the water and they had to shut down all the water for a few hours.

“It offered so many amenities that we did not get to use, e.g. free use of a washer and dryer, a library of DVD's and tapes to view in your own room, and their own little store of items. If we stayed longer, we would have definitely loved these extra treats. This was much more than the 2 stars.”

• Clean, pleasant staff, good location for Disneyland stays!
• After making arrangements to have a room with two beds, upon arrival was notified all those rooms were unavailable.

“Clean, friendly staff, great location for Disneyland! Even after making prior arrangements for a room with two beds, upon arrival was notified no rooms like that were available. I was giving a second room for my upgrade fee. It all worked out well. Although the family had to separate into two rooms.”

• It was near the destination and very accommodating.
• They did not clean the room during our stay of 2 days.

“I liked the Candlewoods Suites. It was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating and we had no problems. Aside from the fact that they did not clean the room while we were there, it was still good. Overall, I enjoyed our short stay in this hotel.”

• The staff attempted to get the items. Large table and comfy chairs in the rooms.
• Always out of pillows, blankets, Disneyland Tickets, dirty tub.

“However this Garden Grove location has a lot of work to do, if it wants to compare with other Candlewood Inn and Suites in this country. If you plan on naming your own price and you need two beds, be very wary of this hotel. One disgusting pull out bed with a three inch thick mattress and about one thousand springs. This applies even if you enter 3 or more guests as a prerequisite. Also, bring a blanket, the AC doesnt work so well and the hotel is always short on bedding. No roll out beds is allowed. There is an adequate cup of free coffee to start you day, high speed internet and a convenience store a two minute walk from your room door.”

• For just a couple it was ok, for family it was not.
• No pool or spa, nothing for children do not recommend for families.

“For a couple that just wants to sleep it was nice but for a family unit it just didn't have any of the things a family would want to do, No pool, no spa, nothing there for children. Ok for older people. Rate were fair but to upgrade to just a couch and bed was 30 dollars more. They had no rooms with two beds, just a very small couch and 1 queen bed. If you have more than one child hope you like sleeping on the floor. Kitchen was set up for only two people. 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 knives, we had a grandchild with us. So we ended up eating out. That's not what we had originally plan.”

• The bathroom was for handicapped and not as easy to use as non-handicapped rooms. The TV in the sitting room and the phone didn't work.

“The hotel was a very comfortable and convenient for everything we wanted to do. We couldn't get help with the phone or the TV which didn't work. There were no extra pillows available.”

• The room has kitchen and microwave; the snack room has the guest honor system!
• Housekeeping only comes once a week, no double bed rooms.

“Great values! The Candlewood Cupboard (snack room) is stocked with great fresh and frozen foods and it operates under the Guest Honor System. We write up our own bill each time we make a purchase, which is charged to the room total bill, and we do not need cash at time of purchase. It offers free laundry (washer and dryer). It also offers free DVD rental service featuring the latest hits. The only complaints I have is that it did not offer double bed and housekeeper only comes once a week (or after check-out). Luckily, it allows change of towels and linens if guests bring them to the front desk. The room has a kitchen with stove, dishwasher and microwave. There's a small fitness room and free laundry room as well. There is no swimming pool or restaurant. This is good for a couple. If you have friends coming along, make sure you have a travel sleeping bag or something as you won't get a double bed room.”

• I liked the cup something that you con buy special things and they had washing and dry machines for free.
• My room had a strong cigarette smell that was uncomfortable and they charge at the bill thing that I didn't spend at the cup something.

“Aside from the room being disgusting (not cleaned well-hair in the bathroom and on the kitchen counter), we were put into a room right next to a room that was under construction. We got a 9 am wake up call that we didn't ask for. We were more upset that we were never told this upon checking into the hotel. The hotel didn't care about us at all as guests. I wouldn't stay there again.”

“This hotel is really great for families traveling to Disneyland. The suite was spacious and the kitchen allowed us to eat in one night and save over $40. The only downside was that the shuttle took almost 30 minutes to get us back from Disneyland. Other than that, everything was great.”

• The cupboard was convenient.

“I was not happy with the size of the room. Myself, my husband and our 3 kids all had to sleep in the bed. The hotel had air mattresses, but they were all checked out. I had the worst night sleep ever, as I had my kids laying on top of me the whole night.”

• The staff was friendly and very helpful in all ways.
• We had to make special arrangements for our children to stay.

“The hotel was in a nice area and not too far from Disneyland (about a ten minute shuttle ride). It was quiet and we heard no noise at all inside the rooms. The hotel is very convenient to I-5 and easy to find. It was clean and comfortable, the rooms were spacious and nicely equipped and the bed was heaven after a long day. We had an air conditioner malfunction the first night, and they had it looked at in about ten minutes from our first phone call - it couldn't be fixed that night (it was about 11:30 pm) so they offered to put us in another room - we declined as our kids were asleep and we had already unpacked everything, so they got us a fan for the night and they had the problem fixed first thing in the morning at our convenience. The only drawback to our trip was that we had to make special arrangements to have two beds - and the second bed was a sofa bed in the living area. Our kids thought it was great, so it worked out fine, but I worried about them not getting good rest. Overall, a great place to stay for the price, and terrific if one bed suits your needs. There is a quickie mart/gas station next door for more selection than the in-hotel snack market they provide, and free laundry facilities at the hotel, also. We liked it and will stay there again if we can be sure we get two beds.”
