• I liked that the room had its own little kitchen. It was awesome.
• sometimes the front desk person was not there, and there was not bell!

“The hotel was beautifully decorated, and very clean. It had a sense of having never been used. Very nice!I loved the kitchen. I was able to cook pasta! The conference table was very convenient, and the beds were confortable. Oh! I loved that they offered enough towels. I had a great stay. My friends loved it also and congratulated me on the geat choice of hotel I picked.”

• Kitchen, dish washer, microwave, refrigerator, internet, parking etc.
• Lack of a cafe but the hotel made up for it.

• Hotel is impressively clean and well lighted.
• Can be a little challenging to locate for first time traveler to the area.

  HD flat, bed, kitchen, and quiet.
• Front desk clerk not bright, and pet policy expensive.

“I've stayed here before and like this hotel. The hair blower didn't work from day one. Otherwise, all was good and the TV is a treat. The bed is very comfortable. It's always been quiet when we have been there.”

“This is a great hotel for the money. Rooms are neat although I found the bed too small for me. The location is perfect particularly if you want to catch a plane at Washington Dulles airport.”

“We loved our room because it had a kitchen with a full size fridge and microwave which is great when traveling with children. Unfortunately none of the rooms have more than 1 bed! Definitely geared more for business travelers or couples, but nice nonetheless.”

• Excellent value for price e.g., free laundry machines.
• Hallway stinks of people's cooking - permeates room.

“This hotel is an excellent value for price. The public areas and room were clean and modern. It comes with a fitness room, free use of laundry machines and a pantry shop that works on the honor system. My only complaint was that the hallway and rooms stink of cooking smell from other guests cooking in the evenings when I came home from work each evening -- the rooms are efficiencies that come with a little kitchen for cooking. In the hotel's defense, this cooking smell seems to be common to hotels of this type that have kitchens in guest rooms and I've encountered the same problem during stays at other hotels with similar amenities.”

• Very accommodating - home away from home.
• Lock boxes instead of personal greeting upon late arrival.

“I will definitely stay at this hotel again. I have never been so comfortable on a business trip. It was enough like home that the business part of the trip went quickly and I couldn't wait to come "home" each day, but enough like a hotel that I felt as if I were "getting away".”

• Location to my show at Dulles Expo Center.
• The carpet was being changed with no regard to safety for guests.

“The Candlewood is adequate, clean enough, but there are no restaurants within walking distance or retail shops. The elevators should be in the middle of the building not all the way at one end. Or a second set should be at the other end of the building.”

• The kitchenette. The free 1st drink and bag of popcorn in the micro was a very nice touch.
• Dangerous nature of locating the hotel entrance while driving a rental car. At night nearly impossible.

• Honor-system snack room was convenient and affordable.
• Elevator and some other public spaces seemed poorly-maintained and run-down.

“I was very satisfied with my stay. The bed was comfortable. The television included a DVD player and VCR, and the front desk checks out movies. The honor-system 24-hour snack room was convenient and affordable. Free continental breakfast would have been nice, but the snack room did not have the "How long has this been sitting out?" Factor that so many free breakfasts at inexpensive hotels do. No 24-hour front desk, but they managed my after-hours check-in by putting my room key into a safe near the front lobby. The area was great: very safe, convenient to the airport, and a reasonable driving distance from a Metro park-and-ride. It is a suburban area, so it is much less stressful to get around, find restaurants, grocery stores, and gas stations, and park than it is closer to downtown Washington, DC.”

• There wasn't any signage for the property by the entrance to the parking lot.

“The hotel really needs a sign out at the street that it is on at the entrance to the parking lot. You don't know where the hotel is until you have already passed it and have to go back around the block again. The only sign is on the building which is hard to see when the hotel is an L shape.”

• While this is just minutes from Washington Dulles hotel, there is no shuttle service and you must taxi, must have a car for this hotel.

• Queen size bed.

“We got there after 9 p.m., hotel was hard to find. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The in-room high-speed internet was very nice. Kitchen was well-equipped (even salt and pepper was there). It as a very good experience. We'll certainly come back. The hotel was close to freeway to DC.”

• Has DVD/VHS plus library, room is excellent, service excellent.
• A bit cozy if more than two people to one double.

“I stayed here once when it was first built and things have only improved! If you can budget it, this is an excellent for short or long term extended stay, or even one night. There is a great small exercise room (no pools) and washer/dryers free of charge and easy to locate. The small scale kitchen has a big fridge and a great microwave, stove top and sink and dishwasher nicely lay out. The microwave is of course indispensable for popcorn because each room has TV, DVD and VHS capability. A nice working/dining table comes with two chairs, one an adjustable padded work chair. There are extra outlets. Ethernet available, cord available at the front desk. All this graces a well coordinated and extremely comfortable bed, easy chair and bathroom. A decent video collection is available for free, as well as some VHS tapes and books. A small "cupboard" convenience store is on the honor system and carries anything you might need right away. Two papers arrive everyday at the lobby, USA Today and the Washington Post (not on Sundays). The staff is pleasant and everything works as it should. It is located right across from Dulles, so you might hear a plane or two, and there are many businesses in the area. A list of in room dining supplied by an outside restaurants is available or you can find something somewhat nearby.”

“The facility was clean and maintained. There was a small kitchen area in the room with the appropriate cooking/eating utensils. There was a small workout room available. I like that they use the honor system to purchase items in their concession area. The facility is targeted for long stays; I was only there one night. I would stay at candlewood suites again.”

• Very safe location with good neighborhood for walking and nice amenities. Mini-kitchen was great.
• Not enough complementary coffee for 2 people.

“The hotel is in a safe neighborhood convenient to shopping and restaurants and a 30-minutes drive to D.C. The staff was very friendly and helpful; we were made to feel welcome and appreciated. The snack cupboard is a nice touch and the stocked mini-kitchen is great. The room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed ourselves. I'll recommend this hotel and probably stay in Candlewood suites in other locations. Great value for the price!”

• Great room presentation, comfy beds and friendly night manager.
• It's hard to find something to dislike - perhaps that it did not have king sized beds.

“Excellent, bright and friendly. Night manager went out of his way to make us welcomed. They have a mini-store that is well stocked and is on the honor system (the manager says that they have not had any issues thus far). The room was comfortable and the bed of good quality with no depressions in the locations where people traditionally lie. I was impressed with the size of the soaps and shampoo /conditioner with enough for more than a week. There was a mini-kitchen as well which provided ice -- although, one had to wait until the machine made the ice to use it (a half hour or so). All-in-all a good experience for a fantastic price.”

“The hotel staff was wonderful. We stayed for 20 hours - could have left sooner but we liked it too much. We were staying for a soccer tournament in the area - the hotel was convenient and having a full kitchen saved us a lot of money on meals. Plus, my son could re-freeze the ice pack the Emergency Room gave him.”

• The room were very big and I love the kitchen amenities.
• No van shuttle to and from airport.

“There were no van hotel to and from the hotel if you have to pay 15 dollars each way to and from airport it defeat the purpose of being a good rate maybe they should partner with the van service from holiday inn across from them, besides the van services the hotel itself was great no complaint about anything excellent services.”

“This bland all suite hotel may be only a stone's throw from Dulles Airport, but it isn't easy to find. Front desk hours are limited, especially on weekends, and travelers who arrive late in the evening will have trouble checking in. In-room kitchen facilities are a plus, considering that the nearest restaurants are two miles away. With the Washington Metro eleven miles from the hotel, and the city itself some twenty miles away, guests will find that a car is an absolute necessity.”

“Long stay type hotel with full sized fridge, dish washer, and kitchen sink. It is fairly new so in very good shape. Nice exercise room. Nice ac/heat controls. Ethernet cable high-speed is free. No shuttle for dulls airport but I had a car. Might be able to walk to Hyatt and take their shuttle though.”
