- The location was great. Parking was too expensive.
- The AC and the walls were too thin that you could hear everything going on in the hall ways.
“The AC was not working. I called the front desk 3 times and no one ever came. The coolest the AC got was 78 degrees. I did not get a good nights rest for my work the next day. Also, there was a coffee pot in the room with no coffee. I also called and went down stairs to get some and they never came to my room to deliver. The walls were really thin that you could hear everything going on out side the room. But I did love the location, loved the security, loved the room, it was clean and neat. The TV was updated the lobby was really nice looking and modern.”

“If you like someone elses dirty underwear in your room you will like this place. If you like furniture that breaks and you hit your head when you sit in it, this is your place. If you dont like these things stay some where else. I will never stay at a double tree again.”

- Room service pancakes were hard.
“I requested a 6 am wake up call and it didn't happen. When I woke up on my own and called to let the mgr. Know, she preceded to argue with me that according to her system, a wake up call had been made to my room. Being told by the mgr. That I am wrong was not exactly the response I was looking for from the hotel mgmt. She apparently never attended customer service 101.”

- The room size was just great.
- Parking - $11.00 a day I don't recall any mention of this went we booked the room.
“Overall, the hotel was really great. However, as I stated before, I wasn't please to find out when we arrived, that I was going to pay $11.00 dollars a day to park. I would have to get a better price before I'd stay again.”

“Excellent room service food and service. Prices good. Very, very friendly and quick customer service. Slightly outdated wall decor (typical 1980 bad art and wallpaper) but still pleasant. Extremely old kitchen appliances, yet they actually worked! Excellent location to everything. Also, minor detail: did not have morning use paper at my door.”

- Bed was mushy and a little noisy; shower too weak.

- Staff acted young, unprofessional.
“Great location and lots of space. Rooms could use some updating, but still very clean. Service was sloppy and staff were often distracted by each other, giggling or not giving their work their full attention. I had to get dressed and walk down to the front desk late at night to get an internet password since the girl at the front desk was "too busy checking people in" to go look for it and tell it to me over the phone. When I got down there, nobody was checking in. Overall, great place, but they need to hire new staff.”

- The room was excellent. More like a small apartment.
- $12 extra per night to park. $10 extra for internet access.
“I thought the room was great and super comfortable. I would recommend it for a relaxing getaway. I am a business traveler and would not recommend it to other business travelers. I believe that hotels should cater to the needs of the guests and should always provide free parking and free internet access. I think it is sleazy to offer your rooms at what seems to be a reasonable price and somehow not mention the fact that you will actually be paying $22 more per night. Customer service should come first in any business. You should offer parking and internet free because it is the right thing to do. Why not offer the whole package, rather than try and "skim" a few extra dollars. La Quinta (along with most 2 stars) charge a third of the price and offer those items free. Surely the Double-Tree can as well. Wouldn't you agree?”

- Room service food was not worth ordering. Go out to eat or fix in suite kitchen.

“Although the location was good, the doubletree near the galleria was lacking in a few areas, primarily the food and room service experience was poor. My expectations of food from any hotel are low, and they didn't meet my expectations. A cheese pizza is hard to mess up, and they did. The bill was incorrect, and the server was rude. Little things make a big impression, and the impression I have of this hotel is that they don't really get the hospitality industry.”

- The hotel staff was warm, friendly and accommodating.
- The decor was nice, but outdated. Internet access should be included in room cost.
“The doubletree guest suites in Houston were a very nice experience. From the 11th floor, we had a great view of the galleria area. Its central location was very helpful for shopping and dining. The suite was incredibly spacious and included a fully-functioning kitchen. Furnishings and decor are a throwback and could use updating, but not at all uncomfortable. The biggest inconvenience was the steep price for internet access. Definitely not a business traveler friendly feature. Overall, my stay was very pleasant, the staff was absolutely great and I would definitely consider the doubletree for a return trip.”

- The staff was courteous but the place needs some talc. They did say that the place will be going under major construction. Location is good.
- Housekeeping was poor at best. We did not get housekeeping for our first two days. We had to call the front desk for service.
“Clearly they are in transitional mode. Too many staff members telling other staff members how to do things. They had just had new software installed and no one knew how to work the printer for the computer. I would describe the front desk as non-professionals. They seemed confused and very informal.”

- Super location. I'm a runner and there is a quiet residential area 1 block away for running.
- Fire alarm (false) went off at 6 am! $11 a day for self parking.
“This hotel is a spectacular value! The size of the suite was enormous and was very comfortable (great pillows and bed). If you're looking for a suite hotel (no pun intended), this is an excellent value. The location is also prime, just a few blocks off 610 in the Galleria Area of Houston. There is a lovely quiet neighborhood just a block behind the hotel for those who enjoy an early morning run in the dark. I felt perfectly safe and comfortable running in this neighborhood in the heart of a big city.”

- The hotel is in a terrific location, and the decor of the suite is beautiful.
- Can't think of anything.
“The Doubletree Suites gives you excellent value of the money. The suites are roomy, the kitchen usable, and the beds are excellent. In particular, the decor of the hotel has been well done.”

- The room was nasty. the mattresses may have been bought at a garage sale.
