• Cleanliness.
• They wanted to charge 10 dollars for a cot, and not give me a double bed room.

“hotel and staff were friendly, but did not want to honor the request at the front desk for a double bed choice. There were plenty of open rooms with this accommodation but instead wanted to put a cot in my room and charge me 10 dollars.”

• Exceptionally clean. Hotel operations seem very well managed.
• Nothing.

“Difficult to believe this hotel is rated at only 2 1/2 stars. It's as nice as some of the much more expensive hotels I've stayed in over the past few years. It doesn't offer a lot of fancy (and often unnecessary) features, but the essentials are very well executed. Highly recommended.”

• Clean and having a refrigerator.
• Events like wedding makes hotel too noisy and crowded.

“I was so excited when I read the review of the hotel from trip divisor since it was ranked No.1 in Fairfax area. Yes, the hotel was good, but the nightmare soon started when the music from the basement sounded so noisy. It wasn't gone until 1am. I know there was the wedding reception but we didn't come because of that wedding. The room next to ours was too noisy too. The bottom line is even though the hotel is nice, sometimes it is not the best because of those unexpected occasions.”

• The updated gym facility, which we utilized often! Also, there was not a continental breakfast.
• The indoor pool was small and not very sunny/bright of an area.

• Friendly, efficient staff, comfortable rooms, good amenities.
• We ended up in a handicap room, which had some drawbacks, breakfast buffet not good.

“The hotel itself was great. Very clean, well appointed. Friendly, very helpful staff. However, lots of local gatherings, weddings, meetings made it crowded a lot. We got a handicap room, awkward if you are not, and they were full so could not change our room. It was also remote, so we did more driving than planned. Breakfast was disappointing, so we never tried any other meals there.”

“The hotel grounds were beautiful. I like flowers. The staff was friendly and professional. The room was clean. No mold. Room service was good. The laundry facility very nice and clean. The location to the mall and other places to eat was wonderful. I really enjoyed my stay.”

• The front desk people were so helpful.

“I liked the front desk personnel, but I had a bad experience with the cleaning department. I forgot one of my bags in the room and when I got home I called the hotel and was transferred to the cleaning department were I left a message. The next day I had to call back and leave another message and was not contacted until I told the front desk that this bag was important because I had my medication in it. When they finally called to tell me that my bag had been located they gave me a hard time with so many questions and getting a bit irritated at the whole situation I finally decided to name every item that I had in my bag. I was a little disappointed in there service.”

• I would suggest adding AA batteries to the small store near registration

• this is a beautiful, clean motel;
• pool hours are only from 5pm-10pm

“we had a small problem prior about getting a double bed, but when we arrived,the attendant was very helpful to get us one. staff was extremely nice; this is definitely a first class motel.”

• Location is very convenient.
• Swiming pool is too small to share and the room air is not comfortable.

“We asked non-smoking room through e-mail to the hotel, but they gave me smoking room. Couple of hours, we felt headache because of smoking smell. It was severe for my children. So I asked to change the room to non-smoking room, but it was no use. And the staff is not friendly as I expected. Thus I do not recommend this hotel to other friends.”

• my chicken was overcooked & the cook did not want to redo.

“Just fine, except for an attitude problem from the chef. There was NO ONE in the dining room other than my wife & myself. The waiter had only served 3 tables, there was a wedding, but dinner was over. I got the impression that I was being served an unused dinner from the wedding.”

• The pool was too small

“I would definitely return to this hotel. It was beautiful and clean. Quiet area. Well located. I love the young hotel staff. They definitely add energy even when arriving late at night. And the office that they had open for patrons to check internet or use computers was great!”

• The staff was EXTREMELY helpful and friendly
• I liked everything about the Hotel

“I was expecting a lot less so imagine my surprise when I arrived at this lovely facility. Then to be greeted by such friendly and kind staff members. The room was beautiful and extremely clean. My next visit to Fairfax VA will definitely include a reservation at the Hilton Garden Inn.”

• This hotel didn't accept my opinion that I preferred two double room rather than one king size bedroom in spite of early afternoon when I checked in.

“This hotel was great. I had no problems checking in and the cleaning service is honest and loyal. I had accidentally left my wallet at the hotel over new years eve and didn''t return to the hotel until 2 days later worried about my wallet. There it was placed on the nightstand not a single thing missing. I was very very pleased. The dinning room had superb food and service. The only thing that displeased me was I called ahead to get a smoking room and they said that they were first come first serve. When I arrived there were none left. But that was over looked and I would definitely stay there again.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at Hilton Garden Inn Fairfax. It was clean, staff was friendly and the amenities were great. My only complaint was that the prices in the hotel restaurant/bar were quite expensive and the staff was less than helpful with finding any alternative dining options. I understand why they would like you to eat in their establishment but it would be nice to have a few other options available for out of town guests.”

“The amenities at the hotel were great, and it was a convenient location. The only problem was that the walls were too thin. A group of wedding guests in the room next to mine stayed up late making a lot of noise in the hallway and in their room. Around midnight, I called the front desk and they indicated the guests had been warned to be quiet or be removed. However, they were still carrying on an hour later, and when I tried to call the front desk again, no one answered. I ended up having to confront the inebriated guests myself around 1:30 a.m., which was not a wonderful thing to have to do in the middle of the night in a sleep-deprived state. I imagine other guests must have complained because the noise finally did stop, but it took way too long for the staff to take care of the problem. I'm guessing this was an atypical group of guests, and this sort of situation doesn't happen often. With regard to other requests I made, the staff were quite friendly and helpful.”
