“While I thought the hotel was fine, I certainly don't think it deserves a 4 start. For 4-stars I expect amenities above and beyond the usual and I certainly expect the bathroom to have a tub and not just a stall shower.”

• Bar tender was not able to make a very popular drink he had never heard of a ceaser. Very popular drink in Canada.

• Nice linens and comfortable beds. Made good use of small room downtown location.
• The hot tub was not hot -- unhealthy temperature. Half of he elevators were shut off at peak check-out time.

• Friendly staff, vibrant atmosphere, comfort beds and linens, beautiful pool area.
• Before arriving, I called to inquire about what type room we would be in and was treated rudely.

• The room was very modern and clean.
• No microwave in the room, and the bathroom was a bit cramped.

“I was looking forward to a relaxing evening and great night of sleep away from the kids, but unfortunately there were very rude people playing baseball in the hallway. My husband politely asked them to keep it down (it was midnight), and it did nothing. We then called the front desk, and things calmed down a little, but they still were very rowdy. Thank goodness I brought my sound machine, just in case. I had it on the loudest setting and you could still hear people yelling and goofing off in the hallway. Then I started to smell cigarette smoke.... and the fire alarm went off! It was now after 1:00 am, and we called the front desk AGAIN. I became sick to my stomach from smelling the smoke for many hours, and had a horrible nights rest. There were no offers for us to change rooms or compensate us in any way. I was disappointed to have paid for this rare night away with my husband.”

• Location is great and very clean. Very nicely done and reasonably upscale motel.
• Only option for parking was in the motel parking lot, was charged 23 dollars for this.

• Very centrally located to so many things.
• Bathrooms are way too small.

“Excellent location. Very nice staff. Comfortable beds. Cleaning staff never showed up for all three days that we stayed there we had to ask them for fresh towels and more shampoo.”

• Modern and clean rooms.

“My wife and I came for a wedding and stayed for two nights only. We didn't have much time to enjoy the pool and fitness center, but they looked nice. Our room was modern, spacious, and very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend this hotel.”

• The view.
• Noisy people all night, bed was hard, decor was hideous, no internet, no phone. You had to pay extra for everything. Parking was horrible.

“Would not stay here again. It was clean but very unsatisfied with experience. No assistance with luggage. Parking was inconvenient, only valet for 23 a day. Noisy people could not sleep. Had to pay for local phone, internet and no free mints or chocolates. Very disappointing.”

• Staff was very friendly and helpful.
• Furniture in the lobby felt like you were sitting on concrete blocks and the $23.00 parking fee was a little bit overpriced.

“Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean. $23.00 parking fee could be reduced and the $5.00 parking fee for guests who comes to visit should be reduced or eliminated all together. And the prices on the menu were way too high. Come on, $5.00 for a bowl of cereal. But overall I was very happy with the rooms. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very clean. My mother stated that it was the best sleep she had in years.”

• Very pricey items: valet parking $23, water $4, internet access $12 too much.

“I loved the location, the cleanliness and the staff, but I have to agree I hate the pricey items, parking was too expensive across the street was better, the water and the internet access was too much! But overall it was nice, I also got a room without a bathtub in fact it was a handy cap and I got it changed!”

“The Columbus is a beautiful hotel. The staff was very friendly the entire stay. It is located in downtown Columbus near the Arena district. The rooms were very stylish and appeared to be newly renovated. The pool and hot tub are located outside on the fourth floor right next to the gym and sauna.”

“Delightful stay. Immaculate, comfy beds with pure white linens; good view of the city; incredible rooftop pool, sauna, work-out room. We were greeted by a fabulous man, who simply loved people, loved his hotel, and really set up the weekend with great expectations. Would stay again in a heartbeat.”

• Valet parking was very expensive.

“This was a nice hotel. Free Wifi in the room. Everything was very clean. The beds are the most comfortable I have slept in to date. Valet parking only and it was about $24 or so. They have meters everywhere but they are hit and miss also. This hotel is very nice overall. I didn't have one complaint the entire weekend we were there.”

• Six pillows on a clean comfortable bed.
• Bathroom was small and t tight. Valet parking was too expensive.

“Bathroom was very small with by fold entry door. No privacy with glass door on shower when both of us needed to use room. Room and bed were very comfortable. $4.50 for a bottle of water in room was a little steep.”

• The art was cool. I think they used Chihuly glass lighting.
• Had to pay for internet.

“The hotel was stunning. Best in Columbus. They allowed my son and I to hold the room until 2:30 pm because we had come back from the hospital after having tests and we needed to rest.”

• The bathroom was awesome! Better than my own house!
• Valet parking was $20/night.

“Very pleased. We had a beer by the fireplace in the lounge and had an excellent breakfast the next morning. The bed was very comfortable (better than ours at home) and the bathroom was beautiful.”

• The look was very upscale, in Columbus the room would have been rated higher if broken glass was not there.
• Broken glass was in the room over by the window.

• Staff very helpful and nice, the room was very clean and comfy, the pool terrace is luxurious.
• Overnight parking was awful, pool needs to be heated, decor is a little strange.

“We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was very nice and very helpful, especially since we were traveling with children. The overnight parking charges were very high for Columbus. The pool terrace was very nice, and different. However, we were there in 90 degree weather and the pool was freezing cold. I was in the pool for quite some time and it was still very cold, so I got out. I would not say that the hotel is family friendly, in the sense that it is definitely driven toward business travelers. The beds were amazing, my 4 years old loved how soft the down pillows were. My 2 years old slept over a Euro the whole night, so those were a hit as well. Everything worked well, minus the drain in our sink being broken. Overall, the hotel and stay was very nice.”

• The decor, the staff, the rooms and amenities!
• In-room internet is not free. Valet parking is not optional. $23/night!

“I am 100% satisfied with this hotel. My friends and I were treated very well. The hotel was beautiful and located in downtown Columbus, which is convenient to a lot of things. And the beds slept wonderfully! I was very comfortable during my stay. No complaints except for the fact that internet was not included in-room. It is $12.95 per day. Also, valet parking is $23 per night and it is not optional.”

• Very accommodating with our larger family needs.
• The room was a bit musty and damp, but an open window helped.

“The appearance of this hotel was beautiful and felt elegant and upscale the moment we pulled up. As a family of 6 attending a large function there, we were helped every moment we needed it - even for my children. They handled the large event with class and superior service and we weren't lost in the crowd nor put on hold because they were busy.”

• The kindness of the workers and the speed they did their jobs.
• The pool water and spa tub were not heated enough for the day use. Parking fee per night was a bit costly, but the car was secure.

“I've never been in a hotel which was as well organized but still remained friendly and courteous, and was never snobby. Service was prompt (except for bell service on check-in, however this was understandable given the volume of guests arriving at the time), and amenities were more than satisfactory.”

• I liked so much but I wanted access to better snacks! Minor, but true.
