• Hallways were the least attractive.

• Better parking, more reasonable rate for parking garage.

“Fantastic hotel. The rooms are spacious and decorated in contemporary fashion. The pool and hot tub on floor 5 are a nice touch. It's really too expensive to park there though, and local parking areas are sketchy at best.”

“Everything was great, except the fact that the hotel tried to charge my credit card extra fees for taxes. I had to call my credit card and the hotel to have them reverse these charges.”

• You could here when people woke up and took a shower in the other rooms.

• The bed was very comfortable, and the staff (room service) was excellent.
• The bathroom was small. A folding door was a slight inconvenience.

“The location of this hotel is excellent. It is in very close proximity to the Statehouse, making it very convenient for me to do business. Its worth its weight when I can leave my car parked and walk only a short distance to meetings.”

“We loved the room interior as well as the lobby, lobby bar and restaurant interiors. Our room had an inventive use of a tight space for the bathroom that was very well done! Very colorful, modern and creative decor.”

• Convenient to local arenas and restaurants. Most of staff was attentive.
• Charge for daily valet parking of $23.00 per day.

“Overall experience was excellent. Mostly we chose location by proximity to sports arenas. This was one of the cleanest cities we have visited. Room lacked table to dine-geared towards business traveler-which we were not. decor was beautiful although the only option missing was a Jacuzzi tub.”

• Overnight parking too expensive.

“Great location, easy to find. Bed was super comfortable but room was small (ok for my purposes). New decorations are fun/funky. Very quiet in the room which is a plus. I would stay here again.”

• Plush, awesome staff, incredible room.
• Cost of parking is steep.

“What an incredible experience! The hotel room was awesome. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were heavenly. They checked us in and out and were so friendly and helpful. The price for parking (all valet) is a little steep and they don't offer transportation through the hotel but it's a nice way to treat yourself from the run of the mill hotels out there.”

• Check-out. They tried to double bill me.

“I enjoyed our stay other then when I had to check-out. It took them 30 min. To get my vehicle, and they knew I already pre-paid, yet they tried to charge me 2 days of room and parking. I almost missed my daughter¿s competition performance.”

• Pricey add-ons i.e. parking and internet use.

“Location was good however on the weekends the city of Columbus shuts down retail and dining places are not open. The elevator on our floor made noises and we were not even next to the elevator compartment.”

“Hotel would have been great if traveling alone or with spouse. Did not like it for children. The room was small and did not feel other visitors appreciated that we had children.”

• Very well kept modern and clean beautiful hotel. Convenient location for local attractions very friendly and accommodating staff.
• I didn't care for the all valet all the time. It's a nice treat and they were pretty quick but sometimes you just want to hop in your car and go.

“This hotel is lovely very modern and clean, very well kept. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only thing that I didn't like (and some people will think I¿m crazy for this) was the fact that parking was all valets. It's a nice treat to not have to worry about parking your car, but we did a lot of coming and going and it seemed like a hassle to have to call for your car. They were always pretty quick but I felt like a pain. Sometimes you just want to hop in your car and go. Overall though, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone.”

• The room we stayed in was very clean and well decorated which added to the overall ambiance.
• I felt that the parking fees were high. The internet connection was extremely expensive.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs overnight accommodations in Columbus. I feel the hotel is more appropriate for adults looking for a romantic getaway or a place to refer out of town business guests. The shower was roomy and very clean. A Jacuzzi would have complimented the overall ambiance. The room was very clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable and was made up with quality bed linens. We did not call upon room service, but the cleaning staff was friendly. The only negatives would be the high cost of parking and the per diem charge for internet hook up.”

• Attractive entrance, friendly staff, clean room, delicious buffet breakfast.
• Can't think of a thing!

“This was my first stay at the Columbus, a renaissance hotel in Columbus. We were greeted and served coffee as we checked in. The valet service was courteous and prompt and the room clean and comfortable, however the room had only a shower, not a tub. I definitely would stay again and would recommend the hotel.”

• I liked the large room and the down comforters.
• Our room was at the end of hall near a door leading to noisy service elevators.

“Very nice other than squeaks from service elevators. Stayed there for a conference for which the hotel was quite full so room service wait was long (1+hrs at 11:30pm) but in lobby I was given fliers to call for pizza, which was cheaper anyway. Better food selection at "convenience store" next to front desk would be nice.”

• Hard to find. Needs a sign closer to street

“Loved it. Staff was friendly. I informed office staff where I was going the next day and w/in fifteen minutes they printed directions for me and slid them under my door. Later saw the desk person the elevator, remembered me by name and asked if the directions were adequate. Hotel restaurant was excellent.”

• Great nights sleep!! The beds were very comfortable.
• No parking- had to pay $22.00 to park in the hotel garage.

“Very nice upscale hotel for the business traveler. I would not recommend this hotel for families with young children. My main complaint was the parking. I would expect the hotel to provide parking for the customers, not make them pay $22.00 to park in the hotel garage.”

• Decor was very nice, had just been remodeled.
• The $22.00 valet parking charge, was a surprise and quite honestly felt like I had no choices as was not familiar with downtown area options.

“The hotel is very nice, but we had to wait in line for 30 minutes to check in, our heat was not turned on in the room and we had have engineering come up twice before it was fixed.”

• It has been totally renovated. Very nice rooms.
• Pay for parking.

“I had stayed at the property 2 years ago. At that time it was under different ownership. Since Marriott took it over, they have poured money into the property. The staff was helpful, gift shop inadequate, rooms were clean, wi-fi was free although the staff didn't know it, I liked the soap and stuff in the bathroom, nice towels, nice view.”

• The pool may have closed a bit early.

• When you get a really nice hotel for a very good price, be suspicious of renovation work being done. Early wakeups, alarm testing, etc!

• The room was gorgeous and comfortable.
• We did not park at the hotel because the rate was so high.

“Even though this hotel was under renovation, our room was absolutely beautiful, one of the newly remodeled rooms. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable! The staff was professional, friendly, and willing to help at all times. We ordered room service for breakfast, and it arrived in a timely manner and the food was exquisite. The Columbus Renaissance Hotel is an extraordinary hotel that deserves the best of ratings!”

• Beautifully renovated and unique with the best staff in Columbus and a great restaurant too.
• The fire drill.

“Having stayed at hundreds of hotels around the world I would say it actually ranks in the top 10 for the combination of ambience and service. It is obvious that the staff is highly trained and dedicated. The restaurant is an added bonus.”

• The room was really lovely. Beautifully decorated, Comfortable Bed, quality linens, nice and clean. Flat screen TV. Great location.
• Hotel had some construction going on in the lobby area, which didn't impact the stay but it will be much nicer when that is complete.

“We enjoyed the room very much. It was well decorated and comfortable. Not the largest room or bathroom in a hotel that I have stayed in, but it had quality furnishings, linens and everything was in good repair. The location was convenient, they had valet parking $22 per day that allows you to come an go as you like. Several restaurants are close and its about 4 blocks to the convention center.”

“This hotel was looking really bad for a number of years. The room I had was recently redone and looked very nice! The bad is there is only one parking option and its pricey. The lobby is being renovated and is currently a long haul from the valet parking area.”

• The location to other things.
• There were remodeling, and it was very inconvenient.

“They were remodeling, and they did not have a lobby/registration area. Therefore they had a temporary place set up, and it was very hard to get to and not accommodating to the customer at all, and they did not help as employees to make that any easier, such as guiding you to where you needed to be or offering to carry your luggage etc. Poor customer service.”

• In the middle of remodeling, but handled it well.

“This is a great place to stay downtown. Convenient to everything, and the beds are so nice, you wont want to get out of them! In the middle of remodeling when I stayed there, but when its done, its going to be awesome!”

• The room was beautiful - very clean, great view, bell staff was wonderful.
• Under construction, front desk staff not very friendly.

“Location was great, rooms were beautiful - very clean with a great view, bell staff was very friendly and helpful. On the downside, it is currently under construction - lobby area is completely gutted and the front desk staff was not terribly friendly.”

“The staff was very rude and not willing to help at all. The hot water did not work and was told by the front desk to let it run for 10-15 minutes until the hot water started to flow. I have stayed at the hotel before without as many problems, however this time numerous problems happened. I would not recommend this property to anyone.”
