“The hotel was a 10 compared to the first one. I tried to consider this hotel as if I never had the first bad experience. The hotel needs some up dating. The pool needs to have some cosmetic work. The fitness room had plenty to do and the laundry room could use a lot of work. The hallways were very hot, but the rooms stayed comfortable. The location is very nice and easy to navigate for us who do not travel much. The only down that I think was that they have no continental breakfast, you have to use their restaurant which is not to affordable with three kids.” Feb 22, 2005 by

“I found upon my arrival at the Hotel Barcelona that it was closed. It was listed as a 3 star hotel. There was a sign on the door letting customers know to go next door for their reservations. I went next door to find an unmarked hotel that seemed to be very run down. I went ahead and checked in. The room was very worn and generally felt and looked dirty . The mattress was sitting 8 to 10 inches off the box springs. The blanket had multiple cigarette burns/holes. Since I was expected to be one person, the hotel had provided one hand towel, one wash cloth, and 2 bath towels. I was also provided with one bar of soap and hand lotion. There was no shampoo or conditioner. Both rolls of toilet paper were almost out and there was no spare roll available in the room. The phones were dirty from use. There also was no Internet access available other than dial up. (I was not prepared for dial up and had to go to the local store to buy a modem cord and sign up for a temporary AOL account.) The desk was useable if the HVAC unit was operational. Besides being exceptionally nosily, it blew the curtains over the desk and desk chair. There was no information welcoming me to the hotel or Denver or listing the hotel amenities. I was also not informed of any amenities upon check in. The sofa had filthy arms and head rest areas from use. The bathroom also felt very unclean in general and there was a leaky shower head which shot water up toward the ceiling. The cups for drinking were paper and were not sealed in plastic. There was no ice bucket available in the room and I couldn't find an ice machine on the premises. There was no in room safe as advertised. In the rest of the hotel, I found the carpet to be worn on the stairs, and it was missing the rubber cap on the edge of the step and the carpet was rolling up and could possibly make one trip. The HAVC unit at the top of the hall stairs had electrical wiring with wire nuts hanging out the bottom. (That is very unsafe.) The door to the back of the hotel was missing parts on the panic bar and the entry area looked like a trash pit. There was no landscaping or outside maintenance on the building. The (outdoor) pool was closed for the season . However, the pool area was full of trash and the pool furniture was thrown about and not stacked or covered. The pool cover was on and off the pool which also had some trash in it. I was planning to have meetings with a couple of company executives in my room. Instead, I was forced to scramble to off site meetings facilities so I would not be embarrassed by the place I was staying. I did not contact the staff after I called about asking about Internet access. I was abruptly cut off mid question and was then disconnected with the front desk. When I checked in, the desk clerk seemed very annoyed I was bothering her as she was chatting with coworker. As you can guess, I will never stay there again. That is unfortunate as it was close to a company I am merging with and I will be going to Denver 6 to 8 times a year now.” Nov 11, 2004 by
“The hotel was not located near the other motels I generally stay at in the tech center. The motel was next to the interstate and the exit was closed for construction. The TV was very unclear, the stations listed on the guide in the hotel were not current, I needed to go to the front desk to get instructions on programming the remote as well as to get good batteries, and there were only about 8 stations available. The heater blew cold air and it snowed the night of our stay. The refrigerator wasn't turned on and took quite some time to get cold. The safe did not work according to the instructions. This was not up to the standards of what I have normally received in the tech center.” Hotel Representatives:
