“Great place to stay once you find it, staff are apathetic, good parking, lot well lit and spacious. Average shower better than most, most are poor and fairly clean and spacious room.” Sep 21, 2005 by
Pat from Algona, IA
“This hotel was clean and comfortable for the most part. The bed was very questionable. That was the only downfall.” Aug 31, 2005 by
Randy from Burnsville, MN
“Great value, clean & good location for me.” Aug 1, 2005 by
Steve from Livermore, IA
“The kitchennette is nice for us, as we're on the road working, and can buy groceries instead of eating out every meal. But with only one queen size bed available per room, if two people are traveling together, and don't want to sleep together, you have to rent two rooms.” Jul 5, 2005 by
Julie from Mediapolis, IA
“This was an excellent choice, especially for the price. Luckily, I knew where it was located, because it could be hard to find, especially at night.” Jul 5, 2005 by
Molly from Grundy Center, IA
“Nice overall hotel.” Jun 22, 2005 by
Tina from Fort Dodge, IA
“I was thrilled when we got the Candlewood Suites! After having a little struggle to find it (missed our first turnoff) we pulled in and were promptly checked in. We needed another pillow and blanket and they quicky replied. We also needed fresh towels the next morning and they got them right away. We "borrowed" a movie the 2nd nite we stayed and the kids got a kick of of it. I'd definitely stay again - especially for the price!” Jun 22, 2005 by
Frances from Penns Creek, PA
“This hotel supplies clean, comfortable rooms at an affordable price. The benefits are enhanced by the addition of a small kitchen with a refrigerator and stove, as well as a desk and internet hookups for office work.” Jun 12, 2005 by
Diane from Dubuque, IA
“Very good. I would stay there again.” Jun 9, 2005 by
Mike from St. Ansgar, IA
“This was a nice place to stay. It was easy to find and conveniently located for events in or around West Des Moines.” Jun 1, 2005 by
Daren from Lincoln, NE
“Candlewood Suites I would highly recommend for someone who is looking for a home away from home for a couple of days. There is a kitchen area, VCR, and free high speed internet access in the room. An exercise room and free laundry area is located on the first floor. The front desk also has free movies and music CDs for your enjoyment while you stay. The staff is also friendly enough to tell you of local restaurants according to your preference. The only amenities missing are a swimming pool and a hottub. All in all, a great place to stay.” May 23, 2005 by
Diane from Storm Lake, IA
“Somewhat difficult to locate, unable to see from main road. Noisier than most - could hear people above just walking.” May 15, 2005 by
Brenda from Independence, MO
“Front desk attendant friendly and helpful. The room was clean, fresh smelling and was large. We liked having a kitchen area in the room. The bathroom was large. The only thing that might have been bad was that we did not know that there was only one bed. The only problem other than a broken icemaker was the fact that there was only one bed. Fortunately, one of us were able to sleep in the recliner.” Apr 21, 2005 by
Donna from Mt. Pleasant, IA
“the only thing wrong with our stay was that the two of us were used to being in a queen bed by yourself, this had a full size bed. the snack room and exercise room was very nice also.” Apr 20, 2005 by
Linda from Bloomington, MN
“Overall, this was an average room/suite for the quality rating. In its favor, it was quiet, away from highway noise, and well placed in relation to stores, restaurants, etc. Staff very friendly & helpful. But for a newer facility, the plumbing was a very bad experience. The toilet was very easily stopped up, a great disappointment. Having a fridge & burners was good, though.” Apr 19, 2005 by
Vesta from Raymore, MO
“They bent over backwards to accommodate you, especially if you were an extended stay patron.” Apr 19, 2005 by
Justin from Marengo, IA
“Should be rated better. I thought this hotel was too nice to be 2 Star... Very nice staff, good size rooms, nice bed, free internet available, free laundry, nice exercise area, movies and cds available for free check out, full kitchen(dishes included), and honor system store" including food, drinks, and disposables. Also easy mall access if you like that sort of thing.” Apr 12, 2005 by
Jim from Dickeyville, WI
“WE had four people and wanted a double room. The girl told us they were only singles with queen beds. Well rather than splitting up are party at two different hotels we asked if we could get a second room at the rate we paid. The girl told us there was no way she could do that. We asked if there was someone she, or we could call? We were told no! So we got a second room down the street. Not the end of the world, but the hotel did not even have a third of the rooms full.So the next time I stay in Des Moines I may not use.” Mar 2, 2005 by
Kellie from Eldora, IA
“Wonderful hotel. It was very nice. The staff was wonderful!” Feb 22, 2005 by

“I usually just look for a place to sleep and a table to work on. The room was spacious, the table had high-speed internet for my laptop and the kitchenette could be handy for an extended stay.” Dec 15, 2004 by
Kenneth D. from Rochester “Great place, wish more Hotels offered more free amenities instead of charging for every little thing. This hotel gave great service, and a lot for the money.” Dec 5, 2004 by
Marilyn S. from Elk Horn “I was very impressed with the hotel you found for me. It was more than I had expected. The room was large and roomy. It was completely handicap accessible with kitchenette and computer hook ups. The hotel had easy access to the interstate and was close to the shopping areas. Thank you for the fine job you have done for me whenever I needed a place to stay. I recommend your service to all of my friends and family when they are going to travel.” Oct 13, 2004 by
“This is a really modern facility. It was very quiet and the staff was friendly. It was a nice place to stay!” Oct 6, 2004 by
Tina T. from Dubuque “The Candlewood Suites was a very nice hotel. It was close to pretty much anything you needed. An unusually nice thing was you could check out videos/CDs at no charge - nice touch. The people were very friendly and helpful.” Sep 29, 2004 by

John A. from Rockwell City “When I booked this motel room I expected to be able to have 2 beds and when we arrived they only had one bed in every room. It would be nice to know before hand if the motels have one bed or more then one bed before a person gets charged. It was an inconvenience.” Sep 21, 2004 by
Paul S. from Estherville “I was very satisfied with the hotel and the help. However, it was almost impossible to find with no sign by the main road.” Sep 21, 2004 by
Scott W. from Omaha “Very nice place to stay. Located very close to a handful of places to eat. There is only one bed to each room so be aware of that.” Sep 21, 2004 by

Steve S. from Rochester, MN “Our hotel stay was a pleasant experience. Having a suite meant that we could have breakfast in our room. They have a convenient little store on the honor system which has snacks and some personal hygiene items. If we were staying longer we could have taken advantage of their mini-gym. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.” Sep 5, 2004 by
Marc C. from Sioux City, IA “Great place. Gets high speed internet by end of September 2004. Sep 5, 2004 by
