“This was the second time that I stayed at this hotel. Last visit, I was given an older (not yet remodeled) room with an unattractive view. This visit, I was given a newly remodeled room with a view of the waterfront. The difference was amazing! Even though the lobby and hallways were under construction, I would rate my experience as excellent due to the beautiful room and the wonderful staff. I would stay again.” Jul 5, 2007 by
Dan from Russellville, AR
“This will be a good hotel, once rehabilitated, but is not ready for the public.” Jul 4, 2007 by
Duane from New Hartford, NY
“The hotel was in the middle of a major renovation and not suitable for guests in many areas. There was no breakfast bar. The finished restaurant was boring. Parking was a pain. The room key didn't operate properly and maintenance had to repair after we left. The corridor leading to the indoor pool was strange and the entrance threshold was a tripping hazard. The cooling system blew air directly on the head of the bed while sleeping. Drafty. The carpet by the window was wet.” Jun 21, 2007 by
Raymond from Colmesneil, TX
“This is a very nice hotel despite the fact it is under renovations. I'll be anxious to see how nice it is once completed. I highly recommend!” Jun 4, 2007 by
Svein from Jay, VT
“This property will be back in your 3 star rating when the construction is done, however at this time it is very poor, there is noisy and dust everywhere and for now it should not be rated a 3 star property. Now it is just a place to sleep.” Jun 1, 2007 by
Jeff from Ottawa, ON CA
“Freshly painted and new furnishings, however the smell of paint was quite strong. The smell in the hallway was even worse. After the renovation is complete, this hotel will be Great. The location is perfect, and the furnishings in the rooms are quite nice for a hotel room.” May 30, 2007 by
James from Pickton, TX
“It's hard to really review the hotel because over half of it wasn't open. The whole building is under construction. The lobby was closed off as were several areas of the building. The front driveway was all dug up and parking to check in was very limited. There was constant noise during the day because of the construction. I was there for a wedding because the reception was being held there. The bride and groom were told there wouldn't be any construction near the time of the event, but as the groom put it the place looked like a "war zone." The hotel should have not even been open for service because of the shape it was in.” May 29, 2007 by
Joyce from Ghent, NY
“This hotel was under construction and therefore my ratings are lower than I would give this hotel normally. The location was great, able to walk safely in the city of Burlington and along lake Champlain.” May 27, 2007 by
Carol from Falls Village, CT
“This hotel would be extremely nice if it weren't for the construction going on everywhere inside. It was extremely confusing and time consuming to even find the way to your room, and once there, to find the way out again. Thank god there was no emergency because I had my doubts as to whether I would be able to find my way out.” May 26, 2007 by
Ernst from New York, NY
“It is very hard to enjoy a hotel that is undergoing major renovation and construction. The manager put us on a floor where a lot of work was going on. I mean, there was dust and smells. The next day, I requested to be moved upstairs. That was better. There was a lot less work going on there.” May 6, 2007 by
Bob from Souderton, PA
“This hotel will be nice when it is completed. It is under construction so most services like getting your on ice impossible. My room was never cleaned properly during my stay.” May 1, 2007 by
Janice from Cranston, RI
“The workers and work areas made it a bit inconvenient to navigate the public areas, the "front desk" was actually a couple of tables set up in a far away room somewhere. Since I only stayed one night, however, it was not really an issue. The best thing is the location. It is close to the center of town where all the action is and also overlooks the lake. There is a town-owned parking garage on the premises (with a $5/day fee). I did luck out with a room on the 6th floor overlooking the lake, which was a bonus (I have a feeling there were probably not many rooms available due to construction). My only issues were with the mold in the bathroom (inexcusable), the tiny exercise room with just a few pieces of equipment, and the small pool with rooms positioned poolside which seemed out of place (and a bit annoying) in this hotel. This was my second trip to this hotel, and I would definitely try it again after renovations are complete.” May 1, 2007 by
Erica from St. Paul, MN
“Staff not at all courteous.” Apr 28, 2007 by

“Tale of two hotels: the staffing was very friendly and accommodating. The view from the room was incredible. However, the hotel was undergoing major renovations. The entire lobby and common areas were torn up and very dusty/dirty (there was no floor in the lobby, just rough concrete). Noisy work on the hotel began at 8 am in the morning. Our room, which had not yet been renovated showed considerable wear and housekeeping, was below par. hopefully hotel will be improved once renovations are complete. Right now, it is very questionable whether or not the hotel should even be open due to the level of construction going on.” Apr 10, 2007 by
Cheryl from Springfield, MA
“This hotel was under renovation, which we were not aware of. The room we were in the 1st night was awful: way too small, had an extension cord running under the carpet, and had a dirty bedspread. The staff was not all helpful. The room the 2nd night was dirty: had not been vacuumed properly. I understand the hotel was being fixed, but this was awful. ” Apr 5, 2007 by
Jessica from Manalapan, NJ
“The location was convenient. The hotel is undergoing some construction and because of this the hallways are covered in plastic and you are likely to wake up early in the morning due to the sound of hammers banging away. Parking is also not included in the price. Overall, the hotel is good for a short stay but if you are looking for luxury look somewhere else.” Mar 26, 2007 by
Dale from Rutland, VT
“This hotel is wonderfully located in downtown Burlington on the waterfront. The staff bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. The hotel is currently being renovated, and there are some inconveniences. If you are taking an early flight, the shuttle is not available. However, cab service is available.” Mar 26, 2007 by
Nancy from Stamford, CT
“They are undergoing renovations and I awoke to the sound of a drill shortly after 7am. They said at check-in they were doing construction, but would not start until 8. Parking for the hotel is in an attached municipal garage. This was an additional fee I was not expecting to have. We had a late check in and early check out - so we did not really use much of the hotel except our room which was just okay. Maybe after the renovation it will have more comfy beds and nicer furnishings. All was dated and worn.” Mar 24, 2007 by
Jamie from Gardner, MA
“Pool was closed, 1/2 hotel shutdown due to renovations. Hotel staffed walked into room after short knock on 2 occasions.” Mar 21, 2007 by
Doug from Bridgewater, CT
“Good older hotel undergoing some renovations. Wonderful location.” Mar 21, 2007 by
Lindsay from Saint-Hubert, QC CA
“Great for the price!” Mar 15, 2007 by
Virginia H. from Manchester Center, VT
“We were told we could not change rooms even though the hotel was mostly empty. The pool was broken, my kids were disappointed. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and the first time was great. We would probably try again because we love the location.” Mar 12, 2007 by
Isabelle from Boucherville, QC CA
“Very well located. Hotel under remodeling (common area, lobby, hallways, etc.). Clean and clear. Bathroom needs minor remodeling and minor reparations (light bulbs to be changed in bathroom and room entrance) water temperature varying (we had a cold shower) but appeared to be fixed the next day.” Mar 9, 2007 by
John from Franklinville, NJ
“Good downtown location, within walking distance of everything downtown.” Mar 7, 2007 by
Victor from Ann Arbor, MI
“The Wyndham is located on perhaps the best piece of real estate in Burlington. Although it was halfway thru a remodeling phase on my visit in March 2007, the accommodations did not suffer from the work-in-progress. Dramatic views of Lake Champlain. I was a little annoyed that $5.50 was automatically added to my bill for parking charges, effectively raising the cost of the room 10% for me. The restaurant had great local food such as the blueberry pancakes with real Vermont maple syrup and many other similar treats. I stayed for three nights but did not have a chance to check out the pool. It seems quite convenient to downtown and many of the guests were UVM students which has its downsides in terms of noise.” Mar 6, 2007 by
Muddaththir from Beverly Hills, CA
“Great view of lake Champlain. Great place to stay whether solo, with friends or with family.” Mar 5, 2007 by
Russell from Weston, CT
“The Wenham¿s under renovation and will become a Hilton in a few months. Lots of work still to be done. Many rooms are closed. Good value for those that remain, but in its current incarnation it's far from a three star.” Mar 4, 2007 by
Stan from Phoenix, AZ
“Price was fair but small room. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly.” Mar 3, 2007 by
Maria from Woodstock, CT
“Our room had a beautiful view of lake Champlain. The hotel was conveniently located to downtown activities.” Mar 2, 2007 by
Abbigail from Tampa, FL
“Overall, we had a great experience. We did not have problems with the construction. We were happy with our room and the view.” Feb 28, 2007 by
Bob from Milwaukee, WI
“Overall this was a nice place. I did have two faults with my stay though: 1) the comforter on the bed appeared dirty.2) the day before checking out we made reservations (written down in book at front desk) to have the hotel shuttle take us to the bus station. Prior to checking out we checked again to make sure this was still in ordered and again front desk staff confirmed. At checkout though the girl at the desk said that the bus was not in the area and couldn't take us. Then she suggested we call a cab. Not only did we nearly miss our bus but we were stuck with the additional cost of the cab. Other than these it was nice.” Feb 27, 2007 by
Dianne from Cadyville, NY
“Overall very nice. Would plan to stay here again during next trip.” Feb 27, 2007 by
Mike from San Francisco, CA
“Apparently the nicest hotel in burling on, but it definitely looks and feels dated.” Feb 24, 2007 by
Greg from Rutland, VT
“Great service at a great location, I will look forward to staying again.” Feb 23, 2007 by
Seth from College Point, NY
“Very good.” Feb 22, 2007 by
Randy from Plattsburgh, NY
“The hotel is currently under construction and is a mess. I think it will be nice when the construction is finished.” Feb 22, 2007 by
Amy from Watertown, MA
“This hotel is in a great location, but right now that's about all it has going for it. The service was not friendly or attentive and the decor in the room was unattractive and dated. In all fairness, the hotel is undergoing a major renovation (which may have had something to do with the fire alarm going off and waking us/keeping us up long before we would have preferred, for which we were offered no more than an apology over the loud speaker) to become a Hilton, so hopefully it will be a change for the better.” Feb 19, 2007 by
Tania from Morrisville, VT
“Bad overpriced hotel food, charged 3 times what we were supposed to be charged for incidentals, cold pool, cold hot tub, definitely not a 3 star hotel. More like one, maybe two stars at most.” Feb 17, 2007 by
Tania from Morrisville, VT
“This hotel is rated a three star, however, it doesn¿t deserve three stars. The pool was just above freezing, the hotel food was overpriced and not that special. 10 bucks to have a banana split brought to your room. The room wasn¿t anything special, not much different than Howard john sons. Charged twice for dinner, mysterious charges popping out of our account. We're lucky we hadn¿t paid our rent yet as the check definitely would have bounced. They are ripping us off.” Feb 14, 2007 by
Jamie from Gardner, MA
“Renovations are no excuse for this kind of filth. Stained sheets, dirty walls, disgusting hot tub, dated pool. Exposed pipes in the room supposed heating system upgrade. Location is excellent and is the only hotel in downtown Burlington. Showers were decent. Upgraded to a lake view for free to shut me up about the renovation inconvenience. All in all a pretty poor stay. Can¿t wait for Hilton to take over.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 11, 2007 by

“Avoid this hotel until they guarantee the construction is complete. Both mornings I was awoken before 8am by hammering and drilling near to my room, and the noise reverberating through the heating pipes. The construction continued through the day meaning that I couldn't take an early afternoon Nap either. The room was not spectacular and had a view from the window of more buildings and a parking garage. However, it is in the perfect location, the staff is friendly. ” Feb 7, 2007 by
Susan from North Providence, RI
“A very clean hotel with beautiful views of lake Champlain. The rooms are clean and provide good space.” Feb 2, 2007 by
Julia from Derby, VT
“No.” Jan 31, 2007 by

“We stayed there so we didn't have to make the hour drive home to warren vat. It was a wonderful convince. Nothing more, nothing less. ” Jan 24, 2007 by
Chris from Westborough, MA
“Beautiful location and easy access to all of Burlington and lake Champlain. Although my room was undergoing renovations I slept for 8 uninterrupted hours in a very comfortable bed. Check in was a breeze and the attendant was very friendly and helpful.” Jan 22, 2007 by
Heidi from Brighton, MA
“Aside from the hairs in bathroom and tight quarters, it was enjoyable. The hotel appeared to be elegant and the location is unbeatable. I would recommend requesting a waterfront-facing room.” Jan 19, 2007 by
Gary from Norfolk, NY
“We were satisfied in the hotel. ” Jan 17, 2007 by
Linda from Chicopee, MA
“They charged 9.95 for a wifi connection.” Jan 14, 2007 by
Julie from Winsted, CT
“I called a week in advance to verify a fruit basket be waiting in the room. Upon arrival it wasn't there. I called room service. They said for some reason they changed our room from 408 4th fl to 312 3rd floors. The renovations were taking place right below our rm. The day of ck-out, while getting ready, they hit something and we had no power 2 separate intervals. I asked for a room to look out at the lake. They said they didn't have any. The person checking in behind me, (with no reservation) asked for one, and was given one on the 4th floor. Hmm! I was not happy at all, and I know the hotel was no where close to capacity. ” Hotel Representatives:
