“We were told we could not change rooms even though the hotel was mostly empty. The pool was broken, my kids were disappointed. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and the first time was great. We would probably try again because we love the location.”

• Maid service was very late in the afternoon.

“Very well located. Hotel under remodeling (common area, lobby, hallways, etc.). Clean and clear. Bathroom needs minor remodeling and minor reparations (light bulbs to be changed in bathroom and room entrance) water temperature varying (we had a cold shower) but appeared to be fixed the next day.”

• Nice view of the lake, friendly helpful staff.
• Was not offered room with view of the lake, TV remote did not work, found used coffee in coffee machine.

“The Wyndham is located on perhaps the best piece of real estate in Burlington. Although it was halfway thru a remodeling phase on my visit in March 2007, the accommodations did not suffer from the work-in-progress. Dramatic views of Lake Champlain. I was a little annoyed that $5.50 was automatically added to my bill for parking charges, effectively raising the cost of the room 10% for me. The restaurant had great local food such as the blueberry pancakes with real Vermont maple syrup and many other similar treats. I stayed for three nights but did not have a chance to check out the pool. It seems quite convenient to downtown and many of the guests were UVM students which has its downsides in terms of noise.”

“The Wenham¿s under renovation and will become a Hilton in a few months. Lots of work still to be done. Many rooms are closed. Good value for those that remain, but in its current incarnation it's far from a three star.”

• Great location, close to downtown and lakefront.
• Front desk staff promised bus service to bus station then at the time we were to depart told us that there was none.

“Overall this was a nice place. I did have two faults with my stay though: 1) the comforter on the bed appeared dirty.2) the day before checking out we made reservations (written down in book at front desk) to have the hotel shuttle take us to the bus station. Prior to checking out we checked again to make sure this was still in ordered and again front desk staff confirmed. At checkout though the girl at the desk said that the bus was not in the area and couldn't take us. Then she suggested we call a cab. Not only did we nearly miss our bus but we were stuck with the additional cost of the cab. Other than these it was nice.”

• The poolside room was great for my kids.
• There was lot of dust and a old match book behind the table between the beds. They need to clean the whole room and move the furniture when they clean.

• The neighborhood.
• Poor service.

“This hotel is in a great location, but right now that's about all it has going for it. The service was not friendly or attentive and the decor in the room was unattractive and dated. In all fairness, the hotel is undergoing a major renovation (which may have had something to do with the fire alarm going off and waking us/keeping us up long before we would have preferred, for which we were offered no more than an apology over the loud speaker) to become a Hilton, so hopefully it will be a change for the better.”

“This hotel is rated a three star, however, it doesn¿t deserve three stars. The pool was just above freezing, the hotel food was overpriced and not that special. 10 bucks to have a banana split brought to your room. The room wasn¿t anything special, not much different than Howard john sons. Charged twice for dinner, mysterious charges popping out of our account. We're lucky we hadn¿t paid our rent yet as the check definitely would have bounced. They are ripping us off.”

• Dirty rooms, dirty pool, and dirt everywhere.

“Renovations are no excuse for this kind of filth. Stained sheets, dirty walls, disgusting hot tub, dated pool. Exposed pipes in the room supposed heating system upgrade. Location is excellent and is the only hotel in downtown Burlington. Showers were decent. Upgraded to a lake view for free to shut me up about the renovation inconvenience. All in all a pretty poor stay. Can¿t wait for Hilton to take over.”

• Perfect location in the heart of downtown Burlington.
• Construction noises awoke me both mornings before 8am.

“Avoid this hotel until they guarantee the construction is complete. Both mornings I was awoken before 8am by hammering and drilling near to my room, and the noise reverberating through the heating pipes. The construction continued through the day meaning that I couldn't take an early afternoon Nap either. The room was not spectacular and had a view from the window of more buildings and a parking garage. However, it is in the perfect location, the staff is friendly. ”

• I liked everything just fine.

“Beautiful location and easy access to all of Burlington and lake Champlain. Although my room was undergoing renovations I slept for 8 uninterrupted hours in a very comfortable bed. Check in was a breeze and the attendant was very friendly and helpful.”

• Location w/room overlooking the waterfront was wonderful.
• Hairs found in bathroom tub, tissues and toilet seat lid, very small room.

“Aside from the hairs in bathroom and tight quarters, it was enjoyable. The hotel appeared to be elegant and the location is unbeatable. I would recommend requesting a waterfront-facing room.”

• The location, and covered parking.
• The renovations going on.

“I called a week in advance to verify a fruit basket be waiting in the room. Upon arrival it wasn't there. I called room service. They said for some reason they changed our room from 408 4th fl to 312 3rd floors. The renovations were taking place right below our rm. The day of ck-out, while getting ready, they hit something and we had no power 2 separate intervals. I asked for a room to look out at the lake. They said they didn't have any. The person checking in behind me, (with no reservation) asked for one, and was given one on the 4th floor. Hmm! I was not happy at all, and I know the hotel was no where close to capacity. ”

• The location is terrific and the beds are extremely comfortable.
• It's showing signs of aging and wear and the bar pours stingy drinks.

“Tube Wenham is overall a pleasant hotel. However, the main restaurant was closed last winter and the downstairs bar/restaurant area is minimally comfortable for dining. The front desk staff is friendly and courteous. The bar staff is hit or miss. Tom is friendly and helpful but some other bartenders aren't so much so.”

“Liked the hotel for the view, but bad ventilation in the rooms fogged up the windows after a hot shower. Walls are paper thin, and can hear things going on in other rooms and floors. Other than that, the place was decent, and the service was good.”

• The first room they gave us the heater was not working well. They upgraded us to the Lakeview no charge, also sent us a gift for the inconvenience.
• There are renovations going on, so at times it was a bit noisy.

• A bit dark, but they were doing renovations.

“We loved the location and we asked for a king room with a lake view. They gave it to us very gladly and we enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and we were able to leave the car in the garage and walk over to the town center which was 5 minutes away.”

• The hotel has a good downtown location overlooking lake Champlain.
• Rooms looked a little run down.

“This hotel was comfortable, but definitely in need of the renovations that are currently taking place. It was clean and in a good location. We were able to get lake view rooms because the hotel was not very busy. The window vent in our room did not close securely and let in a breeze and the door does not provide enough insulation against noises as you could hear people talking in the hallway outside the elevator very clearly. ”

• Wyndham frequent stay benefits were not allowed.

“Great if you want to be near downtown and beautiful view of the lake if you get a lake view room. Hotel is on the older side and rooms are a bit small in some ways, especially bathrooms. Food prices are high, $12 for cold buffet breakfast for example.”
