  • Clean.
  • Very shabby.

“Stayed one night on a return trip from Durango back to Il. We were very disappointed. We stayed in the secret garden suite. It was spacious but poorly maintained.”

  • Charming units in a wonderful surrounding, close to Old Town.
  • Not for someone looking for a really modern facility.

“We loved this place so much we stayed for another 2 nights on our way back. The gardens were outstanding, the staff was very nice and our unit was charming and very comfortable. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing environment.”

  • It was a wonderful, quaint building. It felt romantic, yet great for families. Safe!

“I would highly recommend this casa to anyone traveling with family, spouse or alone! It was a great way to get away without the 'cold' hotel atmosphere.”

“I suppose it is nice for some people, but I thought it was a dump. Tiny bathroom. They call it a suite but it is hardly that. ”

  • Comfortable, beautiful decor, not too fancy.
  • There was nothing we didn't like.

“If you really want to feel like you're in New Mexico, and you want to be able to walk to the shops, museums and restaurants in Old Town Albuquerque, this is a perfect hotel/B&B.”

  • Gardens, Location, Funky Rooms, Friendly Staff, Breakfast.
  • Knowing we stayed the first night in a nearby B&B first (which we check out of).

“If you want the Sheraton or Holiday Inn, this is not for you. But if you want one of the coolest and funkiest B&B's in New Mexico, This is the place. The gardens have recently been re-done and are very beautiful. The rooms are all different and unique with each having its' own character and furnishing that have all been updated in the last year. Our room (the Manzano) had an in-room Jacuzzi Hot Tub , Flat Screen TV with DVD and Stereo System and original Indian Painting on the wall The property was built in the 1930's and of course the bathrooms and kitchens are somewhat outdated but are clean and well maintained. The employees are all very friendly and informative (as are most people in New Mexico) and seem to go out of their way to help you. The property was recently acquired by new owners and is, as they say, going through a transition. It's hard to imaging this place much better and we hope they keep the funkiness as they go about it. We walked to Old Town each evening for dinner and the staff's suggestions for where to eat were right on....Church Street Cafe, Seasons Grill and St. Claira Wine Bistro...all were excellent. This is not your typical chain hotel, but its places like this that make traveling through the Southwest such a great experience. Give it a try!”

  • Loved the gardens, staff and breakfast!
  • Not being able to stay longer!

“I loved staying at the Casas de Suenos as much as I loved visiting New Mexico this spring. The Hotel is three blocks from the Old Town Historic District and is right out of a Tony Hillerman Novel! This place is a throwback to a bygone era of small hotels with beautiful decor (very southwestern) and wonderful staff. We ate at Seasons Grill next to Old Town (recommended by the front desk) and spent most evenings enjoying the gardens on are private patio. Hats off to Lenny for a wonderful breakfast every mornig in the sun room. Thanks Casas de Suenos for a great stay. We'll be back next year!”
