• This hotel was pleasing to the eye, and in a great location, easy access to the highway. The staff was so nice!
• I wish the staff was more knowledgeable of the city. ie public transportation, parks etc.

“My overall experience with this hotel was great. Quiet, pleasant, friendly, clean. The amenities were great for the price. Free continental breakfast! Even the Marriot Courtyard couldn't offer that, but charge the same price.”

• Clean; good shower; (minimalistic but) great breakfast.
• Can not see TV from work desk.

“Clean. Newer than most hotels in the immediate area. Minimalistic breakfast (number of items) but fresh fruit and bagels are exactly what I want. Friendly helpful staff (but their dining preferences and mine are not a good match). 3 convenient restaurants; close to mall and Mopac and Research highways. Nice flat panel screen; but you can't see it from the work desk. Mini-fridge and coffee maker; no microwave or other.”

• The Hyatt Place was modern, spacious, aesthetically awesome! Conveniently located to stores, restaurants, etc., and had computers available downstairs.

You have the option to check in at the desk, or check in at an automated computer. I chose the computer, and you can even choose what floor that you want! The room has a panel next to the TV that you can hook game systems or DVD players up to if you want. All in all, I loved this hotel and would stay there again.”

• Excellent location, great rooms and no parking fee.
• Slow elevators.

“The room fulfilled my expectations and was actually nicer than I anticipated, having a refrigerator, large flat screen HDTV, very comfortable bed and a sectional sofa that made into an extra bed accommodating a third person.”

• I loved the bed! It was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever had.

• The room was very clean, large and modern.
• Can't say there was anything I didn't like.

“Checked in with ease. The staff was pleasant and asked if I had stayed before. When I replied no the manager told me about all of the amenities. I also needed directions to a restaurant and they sent me to a very nice location close to the hotel. It was a wonderful stay.”

• Very easy access to everything. Dining, business, entertainment.
• This doesn't apply as I wasn't unhappy with my stay.

“Overall, I was very happy to see the hotel in excellent condition and the access to dining and business was very acceptable. The simple, yet fresh continental breakfast in the morning was nice. Fresh chilled fruit, toasted bagels, bread, or muffins, juice, and cereals was just right to start the day.”

• Nice for the price.
• Charge for coffee and parking and don't tell you ahead of time.

“This is being converted into a La Meridian. Hopefully they will be kinder to their guests. Nothing special really. Rooms were worn and looked lived in. I was charged for parking without knowing it ahead of time. And when I came down for coffee they charged me $1.50 per cup. This is commonly part of your expense as is a continental breakfast. Instead you pay way too much for a breakfast buffet.”

• The rooms were wonderful and the staff was friendly.
• Record keeping was poor.

“The hotel is well maintained. The rooms are beautiful and the staff was pleasant. Each room has a 42 inch HDTV, King size bed, wrap around couch, desk, small refrigerator, free internet and morning breakfast (with Starbucks coffee). It has restaurants within walking distance.”

“I was very unimpressed with this hotel. I've stayed at a Hyatt Place before, but this changed my opinion. Maybe the Hyatt place in Austin-Arboretum is still working out the kinks in its transition from Amerisuites.”

• Very spacious room.
• The shuttle servicing guests only within 3 miles of hotel.

“The room was very spacious. The hotel amenities were very nice the room included a mini fridge and a nice hairdryer that unplugged from the wall. I liked how the front desk offered coffee and pastries. I was very pleased with the amenities and the price.”

• Air-conditioner loud and went off and on disturbing sleep.

“Very hard to find but once there it was easy to find the next time. Guest services guided me in using my cell phone or we would never have found it Manager was very nice and would have had maintenance man fix A/C but he had gone home by the time we arrived back at the hotel to complain. Rooms were very nice and spacious and clean. Would stay there again.”

• The new bar for the coat hangers in the closet was too close to the back wall - needs to be moved forward about 3 inches so hangers will fit.

• Did not get to stay at the hotel I was booked in.

“Got to the hotel and they had overbooked. They sent me to another one and said they were expecting us. When we couldn't find it by their directions we called and were told they were also booked and did not know we were coming. We called the first hotel back and were sent to another one. He gave us the wrong directions again We spent 1 1/2 hours looking for another hotel. We ended up calling the new hotel to get directions. They had us there in 5 minutes. That hotel was good but the bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked to see it.”

“The linens were fabulous, the furnishings were so much nicer than expected, the room was very large and comfortable. We went down for breakfast and found fresh melons and grapefruit abundantly displayed, cereal, bagels & toast, fresh bananas, apples & oranges & yogurt. The hostess was so very nice and busy without being noticeable in keeping the dining area well stocked and ready for the next guest. Hope we get to visit this hotel again!”

• Spacious room with great couch, work table, Internet access, and refrigerator.
• No microwave in room, no hot tub.

“This was my first stay at a Hyatt Place. I will definitely consider staying there again. For a week-long stay, I consider a microwave and hot tub to be essential. Other than not having those two items, this was really quite a good place to stay.”

• It exceeded my expectations. I liked it so much I booked a second night.
• It is a new hotel and the pool was not functional yet nor the late night dining.

“It is just a couple months old, refurbished hotel. Great local, rooms and staff. We really enjoyed our stay and were super impressed with the look of the room. The 24 hr dining - isn't up and running yet nor the pool and other "amenities". But well worth the stay. I am sure they will get the bugs worked out over time and it's neat to sleep somewhere new and fresh. I have already referred the hotel to friends.”

• The bed was not as comfortable as you would have expected for such a nice room.

“The room was very nice. I really liked having a sofa to sit on instead of the bed. The flat panel TV was very nice. The bed wasn't as comfortable as you would have expected for a nice hotel. The breakfast is very limited unless you want to pay for eggs and other items. Nice hotel and nice staff.”

• I loved the bedding - double wrapped blankets in a 2.5 star hotel are great.
• Housekeeping could have been better - no hangers in room and missing some extra pillow sheets.

• This hotel is a joke. In short, nothing went right.

“The hotel was under very heavy construction without notice. It should have been closed for remodeling. First night, walked into a dark room with heavy leaking water from the ceiling from the electrical lights! They could not change the room until the second evening. Construction noise from 7am to 7pm (knocking, hammering, etc. very loud noise). The carpet is stained and dirty and smells very bad. The towels are old and have spots. The sheets on the bed had holes and duck tape to keep them together. The hot water was intermittent and while taking one shower, it became instantly cold as ice. Half of the light bulbs were not in working condition. The toilet was clogged twice in a 4 day stay. The toilet paper rack was broken from the wall. The bathrooms are tiny. I think that's enough.”

• Construction noise started early and ended late.

“Might have been a nice hotel, but there was construction noise during the afternoon and into the early evening when we arrived, therefore we didn't get the nap we looked forward to after an early morning flight. When we asked to be moved to a different room away from the noise, the staff would not accommodate us.”

• The bath towels are rough. It is time to get some new fluffy ones.

“I think the staff needs a little training on how to check people in. They gave me a key to one room, and when I went in it was being occupied to someone else. Other than that experience it was ok.”

• It was convenient to several locations. And easy to get to others places in Austin where I needed to go.
• The room did not appear to have been thoroughly dusted in a while. While it was generally clean. It could have had a cleaner smell. I used Febreze.

“Nice, comfortable setting with a good breakfast for those not wanting to take time for breakfast elsewhere. Convenient location makes it attractive to us.”

• The mattress was extremely uncomfortable; worn out.

“This would have been a great stay but the mattress was not comfortable. I could feel the springs through the mattress. I asked about another room or a different bed but was told they were all the same. The mattress was so bad that I put the mattress from the sleeper sofa on top of the bed mattress. This helped some. I have stayed many times before and have never had such a bad nights sleep as this one provided.”

“We were in Austin to see my son who is working for g-tech. He worked from 8am to 8pm and we visited with him after work. The hotel was excellent as he was staying in one just one block across hwy.360. We visited friends and shopped until we could visit with him.”

• Great location for us, the children loved being so close to each other, the breakfast was good.
• We didn't realize what time the breakfast ended and it was completely cleared out within one minute of closing time.

“We enjoyed our stay. The size of the rooms was great for the families with children. Having a small refrigerator in the room was great also. It was great being able to walk to a family friendly restaurant. The staff could have been a bit more friendly.”

• It's located in a nice and quiet area.
• Bath tub was very dirty as if it has never been scrubbed.

“Nice hotel, away from all the noise. Breakfast was not as tasty, orange juice was very watery. Again tub was very dirty, needed a good scrub. We did have a very good night, but I would've brought my sandals for that tub.”

• Arboretum is misleading, it's not a tree park, it's a mall.

“This hotel really sucked. We went there for our anniversary thinking the trees in the arboretum would be inspiring and romantic. But the Arboretum, it turns out, is a mall. If your heart sings at the thought of gazing out your window at a parking lot, a Dave and Buster's chain restaurant and the freeway, then this place is for you. Otherwise it's a $50 round trip cab ride to anything decent.”

• The suites are large and come with a microwave and small fridge.
• Bed is hard and cheap, tub was disgusting, internet access in lobby only.

“This hotel is standard. Nothing extremely mentionable. The hotel could use a renewed focus on customer satisfaction from room comfort and cleanliness to blocking the entrance with their vans. The pool is very uninviting, they charge for phone calls, limited TV cable, a funny smell in my room, and a staff that wouldn't pause to take my room keys when I left. All of which you expect to some extent from a 2 star hotel. If they want to be more than that there is some work that needs to be done.”
