• The hotel was very neatly kept and the pillows were very comfortable.
• The bed was extremely uncomfortable, it was too hard.

• Spacious room with modern amenities.
• Building actually seems rather old under the surface gloss.

“This hotel is a great value at the Priceline cost, but maybe a bit expensive otherwise. It is conveniently located outside the hustle-bustle of downtown and near the airport. The breakfast was great and the staff was friendly. The rooms are spacious with modern amenities (e.g. flat panel TV), but the building seems a little old. The carpet was clean but could use a contemporary replacement. The sink & bathroom fixtures also seem a bit dated. Altogether, a decent hotel.”

“I don't know if I have ever had a friendlier greeting as when we arrived at the Holiday Inn Express in Austin. The gentleman at the desk made us feel at home right away. The room was very nice and cozy perfect for the overnight get away. I was very impressed overall with my stay.

• Large room with partially separate sitting area, desk, small kitchenette. Free breakfast each morning & free dinner on Wednesday night.
• The pool was large, but had lots of dead bugs.

“Our experience was better than expected. Our room was large enough for 2 adults and 1 older child without seeming crowded. There was free breakfast served each morning and we also had a free dinner served on Wednesday night of our stay. The food was all very good except the eggs at breakfast.”

• Excellent location, easy to get to and find.
• Did not match Holiday Inn level of cleanliness, quality, or comfort.

“This hotel is a great option for those needing a close location to Ben White and the airport area. Expect the same excellent Customer Service and friendliness from the staff. Be aware of the stickiness of the carpet in the rooms as your feel walk on it without shoes. Also, be aware of a ridiculously small pool and a bathtub that has mildew growing in it.”

“The hotel met our expectations and more. Lobby was nicely decorated and the breakfast every morning was great. They also served a Mexican buffet one night with free soft drinks and beer. Staff was very friendly.”

“Perfect for a trip to Austin. Free wireless, free breakfast that was pretty phenomenal and a business center for printing. Extremely convenient and the staff was very helpful.”

• The place was attractive and very presentable.

• It was clean.
• One comfortable chair in room, others were desk chairs hard for 2 people to be comfortable.

“The staff only acknowledged us when we checked in, no greeting when eye contact made. Elevator is Dover brand, some one had written bend over the name, needs to be removed, AC did not keep room cool, room was not comfortable to sit and watch TV, getting out of parking lot onto busy street was really irritating.”

• The breakfast was very nice, and the staff very helpful and courteous.
• Mildew in bathroom, smelled very musty, room obviously an old room not very well updated, mattresses old and uncomfortable, loud bathroom fan and AC.

“Gorgeous remodeled lobby and nice pool. Room, though, was obviously an old room repainted to look new. Big flat screen in room, but beds were old and very uncomfortable, bathroom smelled horribly like mildew, with mildew in shower and on floor. Fan in bathroom was so loud it sounded like an airplane taking off, no central air - had the old window-style unit, which was very loud and smelly also. There was a portable fan/AC thing in the sitting area - weird.”

• Everything! The beds, sofa, refrigerator, even the view.
• Sorry, can't think of anything.

“Totally awesome! Actually rented this hotel for out-of-town family, checked out the rooms in advance and was amazed at the accommodations. The pull-out sofa was perfect for small children, appliances were an unexpected surprise, desk, table, beds, everything was perfect. Family was so pleased some stayed an extra night. Another said, "Now I know where to stay when traveling. Wish we could have stayed longer. Kids really enjoyed it.".”

  this is good. I liked the non-valet parking option.

• Air conditioner was old, not up to par with other room items; breakfast area a bit crowded, but good quality.

• Bug bites-bedbugs or fleas.

“Very modest furnishings in a large room, with a great location. Very clean. I was there for 2 days. I ended up with some bites that I noticed after I left - flea bites or bed bugs. Might not have been from the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.”

• The front desk manager was very nice.
• The ease or lack of for street entry from parking.

“We were not as happy as we thought we would be staying at the Omni Downtown. They were doing renovations on the 6th floor. We were on the 5th. It started early, we called the front desk and were informed by one of the girls that they are doing renovations and they wouldn't be finished until at least 6pm. Not so nice. They closed the pool at 9pm and the door was locked. The restaurant staff stood around watching us as if we were going to jump check, the room was small with some dated furniture. We were glad to have checked out the next day. There was one redeeming factor. He was the front Desk manager. He chomped our parking and offered us a breakfast for our troubles. He did listen and was very nice. If only the other employees would have responded as he did.”

• The suite was very spacious, the bed was comfortable; though we could see aircraft on the tarmac out our window, it was very quiet!
• We did not fly this trip. It's a little far away from Downtown.

“We had a king suite with a large desk, and a queen-sized sleeper sofa (that we didn't use). My husband watched a FedEx plane taxi for takeoff from our window (he's an aviation buff) but we never heard any aircraft noise. There was a public computer with a good printer next to the front desk, and a kiosk in the lobby for searching things to do in Austin, printing boarding passes, etc. There was also a fitness room (that we didn't use). The free breakfast featured bacon and sausage. Even though we did not fly, and the hotel was out of the way from Downtown Austin, it was a great value for the price we paid, and we'd certainly stay there again!”

• Original room was dirty - changed rooms upon request.

“Not a bad value, my overall impression is a positive one. The first room we were given was dirty - no sheets on beds, used towels and trash on desk - but hotel staff apologized, IMMEDIATELY assigned us another room (very nice), and identified the problem (cleaning staff had reported rooms already serviced incorrectly in computer system). Breakfast next morning was fresh, with large variety of items - and fresh. Would stay there again.”

“We arrived around ten in the morning. Due to one child becoming ill, we really needed to check in early. The man at the front desk understood our problem and with out hesitation or making a big deal of adjusting our room, moved our reservations to a room to accommodate our needs.”

• There was nothing I like about the hotel.
• The bed in the room was uncomfortable the spring in the bed were poking out. The hotel staff was not friendly and the room had a bad odor.

“Do not ever stay at this hotel I stayed for about 20 minutes. and left. I went and stayed at the Doubletree Hotel which was only 10 dollars more and was by far a better hotel. This hotel is overpriced for its quality. It was like booking a room at motel 6.”

• The breakfast was great and the staff was friendly.
• The floor we were on was non-smoking, but reeked of smoke in the hallway

“This hotel was good for our short stay. The breakfast was great for our basketball team. The room was nice and beds were comfortable. The hallways on non-smoking floors smelled of smoke.”

“The overall experience was bad. When we first entered, the hotel looked OK. But, when we got to our room, it smelled of smoke, even though it was a non smoking room. The beds were bad, as the springs were no good. When asked to change rooms, we were told no.”

• Clean, very nice staff and 24 hour coffee in the lobby. The room was very comfortable.
• An on site snack or conv. store would be the only improvement I would like to see.

• Continental buffet Breakfast was better than most.
• Room and bathroom not clean.

“We were disappointed with this hotel. The toilet in the bathroom had to be plunged by a maintenance staff before it could be used. The air vent above the toilet was CAKED solid with dust and gaping holes around the edge of the vent. The hotel is very inconvenient to get to from the freeway, and there is NO exit sign age announcing where to exit.”

“We happened to stay on a night when there was a group of high school kids on a band trip. They were not well behaved at all, and were making a lot of noise late into the night. I called the front desk to complain but the noise continued. Other than that, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was great.”
