- It was local to what I needed.
- The first three days were the worst with an air conditioner that didn't work and an unresponisve hotel manager to the issue.
“It would have been very nice if the first three days we weren't subjected to a faulty air conditioner and the hotel manager not willing to put us into another room. After complaining daily by Sunday evening we finally were moved. The first room also did not have a refrigerator nor a microwave, which made it cumbersome traveling with a little baby; these conveniences are listed in their advertisement and should have been provided. Instead I received, "we'll see if we can fing one". The room had been paid for in advance for several months and I feel we should have been treated better!”

- The restaurant was very generous in their servings.
- The front desk staff was quite rude.
“My family of 5 arrived at the hotel and was given a room with one double bed. When I went to the front desk to get it corrected, the person at the desk snapped at me and acted very put out to have to change our room. The hotel smelled awful and unclean. The room was very dark even with all the lights on.”

- It was clean and fairly comfortable.
- Planes from the airport went right over the hotel between 5:30 - 6:00 a.m.; they shook the room.
“This hotel had been updated and clean, but it was a definite one star. The bed was only a double for two of us. Two of the three nights we stayed, between 5:30 and 6:00 am several large planes took off consecutively from the airport and the whole room shook. There was a restaurant on the premises, but no free breakfast offered.”

- The room was clean and I liked that the drinking glasses were wrapped in plastic and not just set out on the counter.

- The hotel and it's staff were very accommodating and friendly.
- I do not have any negative aspects to report.
“The hotel was older, the staff was friendly and helped me with a small issue I had that was not related to the hotel. I was impressed with the staff mostly, during my 4 day stay. They remembered my name and my purpose for staying in their town. As a corporate compliance officer for a worldwide company, I can honestly say that this was a positive experience and would recommend the hotel to anyone. Thank you!”

- Having to sleep on the floor, and the service we got, holey blankets.
“After asking for a double room, was refused, given a cot that was very unsafe for anyone. Couldn't control the heat. Husband slept on floor on with mattress that was like material over springs. Offered to pay more for double room was refused, Blankets were very very thin and full of holes. Day personal was rude. Never stay there again. Would never refer the H.J. to anyone. Cannot believe this.”

- For the price, I got an excellent value.
- There's nothing I didn't like.
“The price, the location, the cleanliness and general comfort of the room microwave, refrigerator, iron & board, hair dryer & complete toiletries, open able windows made this a great value. Nowhere else has a staff person ever stopped by my room to ask if everything is ok. They did that here. Stay here with confidence.”

- This hotel may not be a Hilton, but I love it. The rooms are very unique and have a contemporary/modern design.
- The bathroom should be upgraded/updated to match the rest of the room. Would be nice if the sink was inside the bathroom, but not a big deal.
“I love this hotel and I hope they have one nationwide. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The room looks exactly as it does online. Very unique and contemporary. A standard room comes with a small refrigerator and coffeemaker. The only thing that needed to be done in order to be the perfect hotel is the bathroom should be upgraded to match the hotel room and the sink would be better if it was inside the bathroom. But nonetheless my experience with this hotel was still excellent and I would definitely stay again.”

- Water-saving toilet had too be flushed twenty times (seriously), warming lamps in bathroom didn't work, lobby is terrible, everything stinks.
“I didn't like much about this motel, the coffee was good if you used half the amount of water with a full coffee pad. And the place stinks all-over, stale smoke, even in my non-smoking room.”

- Clean room, friendly staff.
“I was pleased with my experience. I checked in late without a problem. The room appeared clean overall. The bath was clean and bright with updated fixtures. The bedroom furniture was tired, but acceptable. The staff was friendly, and after staying for three days, would recommend it to a friend.”

“Hotel stay was so bad! Worst experience ever at a hotel. We arrived at 6:15 Friday, running quick because we had a game to go to for 7. We didn't check in unstill 6:45 because no one was at the desk! They had a sign saying they would be back as soon as possible! Again Saturday, we had a wedding to go to for 1. We arrived back at 11:15 to get ready, and our keys didn't work! Our keys had to be changed 4 different times because they wouldn't work for the outside door or our hotel room. So while our key didn't work sat we waited till about Noon for someone to get back at the desk! Ridiculous, made us late for the wedding! During check out called the desk no answer, then went to the desk, once again, a note! I ended up writing a note saying the room 103 had checked out! Worst experience ever! Called and talked to a manager once the trip was done. She did nothing for me. She argued about the whole situation. I am not one to complain but this was so bad! I am now going to go to her manager and try to do something.”

- Hotel was quiet.
- Room was not cleaned over our two night stay, we asked for towels and they were not brought to us. Had to request twice
“Overall the hotel stay was okay. The hotel itself was quiet and fairly clean although we had stayed two nights and our hotel was not cleaned at all during that stay. We needed towels the next morning and we called the front desk to obtain them. No one showed up by the time we needed to leave and when we arrived back at the hotel at 10pm there were still no towels in the room. We had to go down to the lobby and get the towels ourselves. The staff was not very friendly and did not want to put in any extra effort. We had a problem with the toilet and when we went down to the lobby to ask for assistance the front desk clerk just handed us a plunger and did not offer to help. We were pretty disappointed in the hotel staff's attitude and lack of assistance”

- Some cards to get into rooms did not work and had trouble getting someone to accommodate.
“The motel has been a place for us to stay to and from Prince Edward Island when we travel. This time we were took back when one of the rooms neither of the cards to open the rooms would work-we asked someone to accommodate us by getting it took care of and about 1/2 hour later someone came around. There was a bus load of tourists that came in and we had to wait till they took care of them. That was very inconsiderate as we had children in the hallway and needed to get in the room. We went down 3 times to the desk before someone took care of it.”

- Close to the freeway--easily accessible
- When we called from the freeway, the person on the phone wasn't as helpful as he could have been regarding exit information

- This was a really awful hotel.
- Loud, disorganized, smokey, poor service, low quality, inexperienced staff, room not adequately stocked with necessities
“This hotel seemed to be on the verge of collapse. The staff were inexperienced, the maid service was poor, the hotel was loud. It was not a restful place. Non-smoking rooms reeked of smoke. The hotel was out of caffienated coffee. It was my second worst hotel experience ever.”

“Ho Jo's Bangor is a solid value for the area. It is in a convenient location & has a good diner type restaurant attached. The hotel itself is outdated and could use a facelift and the lounge is weak - but, I have stayed there many times. If you are looking for an average Inn, no frills, and a great value for a LOW price - This Ho Jo's won't let you down.”

“Was not happy with the desk clerk. Asked him to give us a different room because of location, noise and needed two beds. He would not do so. Manager over heard and came out and gave a different room and upgraded it even. Very happy with that room.”
