• Hotel was very nice. Great breakfast too.
• Airport pick-up is cut off after 10 pm.

“We were flying into Portland and needed to use the airport pick-up service. I was pretty nervous because I was told on the phone that their airport pick-up service would only go until 10 pm and if we were delayed after that we would have to take a taxi. Now I understand that they probably don't have the people on staff after 10 to handle such a request, but I was a little nervous about it since our flight was set to land at 9:50. Good thing we didn't check any luggage. Anyway, it all worked out okay and the room was great. Great breakfast too. Very friendly staff.”

• Customer service staff was stiff and gave us 1 room that was occupied.

“For 6 guys in town for one night it was a good spot and the right price. Front desk gave us one room key to a room that was occupied. Very scary and the front desk should know is a room is occupied or not.”

• The room was very clean and they offered free breakfast which you can't beat!
• The pool wasn't as clean as I hoped.

“This hotel was a great hotel for our purposes. We were there to enjoy the town of Portland and not so much the hotel. We took a dip in the pool, which wasn't as clean as we hoped, but it was not too bad as it was a really hot day. The hotel staff was very efficient, courteous, and helpful. We were given coupons for cab fare, which was beneficial. The breakfast in the morning does not offer everything you would want, but hey, it's a free breakfast! There is coffee, cereal, muffins, waffles, eggs, and a few more things, what more do you need?! The rooms were very clean and much nicer than I had expected. Overall, our experience at this hotel was a pleasant one.”

• Use of Styrofoam plates and cups.

“This hotel is fine. The breakfast isn't bad at all. There are 'make your own' waffles and the food generally is mundane but adequate. The rooms are also adequate and clean. The HVAC system is a bit noisy but you can control the temperature - though I had to set it to 72 to be comfortable. They are green in some ways, but not so in others. They use Styrofoam a lot and they leave the lights on for no reason (like in the empty fitness room.).”

“This was a wonderful hotel experience! My arrival was very late and departure very early; the staff handled that and my odd requests (batteries, taxi service, shuttle, change, computer power cord) confidently, quickly, competently and friendly. The hotel was well-maintained and very clean which instilled my confidence. And the bed was comfy too!”

• Staff was extremely pleasant. Very helpful and courteous.
• Stucco walls of room pulled clothing when leaned on. Hall ways were not cleaned well, faint odor.

“This hotel worked for my purpose and price but I would not recommend it. I do not travel often and I was looking for a place to spend a quick night to cut down traveling. I did not see amenities.”

• It isn't near the airport.

“Once I finally located the hotel, I was pleased by the ample amount of parking, the east of the entry area for disabled access, and the openness of the desk area. The staff was extremely friendly and had maps available to assist me in locating the venues that I had planned on seeing while I visited. The room was clean, with two beds, and each had 4 fluffy pillows. There were extra blankets in the bureau, which were soft and warm. The heating unit kept the room at a constant temperature and was easy to set at a comfortable level. I received a local weekend newspaper on Sunday and a use today on Monday. The breakfast was fine with a waffle maker, muffins, toast, cereal, juice and coffee.”

• Breakfast was absolutely awesome! Coffee 24 hrs/day.
• Nothing going on here we didn't like!

“Front desk personnel were very helpful. Recommended good places to eat and gave good directions to get places. We appreciated the available coffee 24 hrs/day and the wonderful breakfast. Location was excellent for going to the places we needed to go. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were quiet. Fairfield Inn would be a first choice hotel for me.”

• Great breakfast buffet. Waffles, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, egg sandwiches etc.
• It was on a one way street, and for people out of town it got confusing.

“We would stay there again any time. Great value for the price. Very helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was WAY more than we expected. Make your own waffles, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, all kinds of muffins, bagels, bread etc and even egg and biscuit sandwiches that you just put in the microwave. Only 5 minutes from Casco Bay Ferry.”

• The continental breakfast was quite substantial with good selection.
• Hotel near some train causing the rare faint vibration of the bed.

“Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. The room was adequate. The location was convenient to major highways and not too far from downtown. There was a couple brief, faint episodes of vibrations that could be felt from local train station. Breakfast was good but overall a bit crowded with small dining area for number of guests.”

• As with many Fairfield Inns, this hotel went above and beyond its' star-rating. Clean rooms, nice staff, great pool, yummy breakfast!
• Although the facilities were fantastic, the bathroom/shower seemed out dated, yet still very clean and functional.

“This was a great hotel and I was impressed at every turn. The staff was helpful and personable. The lobby and hotel in general were very clean and nicely decorated. The room was fantastic, extremely clean, well-made, and comfortable. The pool was large and maintained. And the continental breakfast was awesome - waffles, milk and cereal, bagels, breads, muffins, fruit, yogurt, juices and coffee!”

• It was a great deal for the price, and I loved the complimentary breakfast!
• The toilet stopped working while we were there

“Overall a fabulous deal for the money, the staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable. The toilet stopped working during our stay, but that can happen anywhere. It was a short drive to the downtown area, and the neighborhood felt safe. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was GREAT - all kinds of coffee, cereal, milk, bagels, yogurt - and all the low-fat options, not just the typical junk food. A/C was ice cold. We had a really positive experience here!”

• I had to stay in a smoking room that really smelled of stale smoke.

“This is a basic, yet clean and sufficient hotel that is very easy to get to from the highway. It is also very close to the ballpark, where we were headed for a game. • The nearby train shaking the entire hotel twice in the night. And the loud outside noise in night.

“My wife and I have traveled throughout the country and outside. We have stayed at many Fairfield Inn's and entered this one with expectations of excellence. We were not disappointed in the least. Both my wife and I make our living in the hospitality business. I have over 30 years in the business and it always pleases me when we find properties that meet our expectations. Kudos to the Fairfield Inn.”

• Comfortable bed, good climate control, good continental breakfast, well staffed.
• No exercise room, no hard wired internet in room.

“For the price, I feel it is a good value. The neighborhood wasn't pretty but I felt safe enough. I would prefer having at least a small exercise facility on premises rather than across town. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff very polite and helpful. The continental breakfast was better than expected.”
