• The work space facility. Printer capability, copies and 2 internet stations. Also used wireless in my room. Desk was very spacious and catered to business.
• Would like to have gotten breakfast A la Carte; Muffin/bagel something small rather than buffet breakfast only. I went to McDonald's to buy a breakfast.

• Wonderful beds and linens.
• We were put into a room that had not been cleaned.

“Very helpful staff, when we were put into a room that had not been cleaned, we were quickly moved to another one. Nice brands of coffee and tea available. Comfy beds, nice shuttle to airport.”

• The room was large, well appointed, and comfortable.
• The room cleaning staff was consistently slow and forgetful.

“If not for forgetting to service our room, replacing used glasses, forgetting to replace coffee, forgetting to replace coffee pot, I would have given this hotel at least one more star. However, if this hotel is available again on Priceline, I will be a happy camper!”

• The continental breakfast.
• The bathroom in the room has a mildew covered bath-savers-like apparatus covering the bath tub. The wallpaper was torn in places too.

“Not bad, but not fantastic. The beds were comfortable, but the room wasn't super clean when I got there, the bathroom had a lot of mildew in and around the tub, and the walls were paper thin. I could totally hear my neighbors on all sides & above and below me. The continental breakfast they offer is pretty sweet. Not bad, but not fantastic.”

• Availability of king sized bed, brought a cot immediately for my son.
• Hair on bed covers when we arrived. Trash outside of the hotel on ground.

“Hotel met our needs. We didn't get the breakfast voucher but my 6 year old son was free so for 11 dollars we were able to get plenty of food for all three of us. The bedding on the king size needs to be replaced but other than that we enjoyed the room. Neutragena bath products were nice - coffee was terrible. Thank God for the Starbucks just minutes away.”

• Proximity to the airport.
• Ugly hotel furnishings, not unusual for hotels generally though.

“This hotel is literally just around the corner from the airport - you could walk on a nice day. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Not much in terms of atmosphere, but, it's an airport hotel.”

• Hotel staff was very accommodating, helpful, and eager to make our stay comfortable.

“There is no complimentary breakfast at this hotel, but the breakfast buffet was good and food was hot. The shuttle drivers were friendly and helpful and so was the staff at the front desk. The lobby and rooms appeared clean and tastefully decorated. Very close to the airport.”

• Closing bar/eating facility at 10 & lack of real bar.

“Good for families. We were looking forward to a drink and good dinner but due to trouble locating the hotel did not arrive until after 10. Hotel staff was wonderful in that they sold us drinks in spite of fact that bar was closed. We just expected something that hotel did not have. But it is excellent for families especially with children.”

• The breakfast buffet was awful. The served burnt potatoes. Too expensive for what they served.

• Excellent shuttle service to the airport, 24 hours and only a 2 minute trip.
• Water glass has dirty.

“Excellent hotel for my purposes, which was to catch a 6 AM flight. The hotel is located next to the airport and has 24 hour shuttle service. I was able to drop off my rental on Sunday, return to the hotel via the shuttle Sunday night and take the shuttle to the airport at 6 AM Monday morning. My only complaint is that one of the water glasses was dirty even though it had one of those cardboard caps on it which is supposed to mean it was clean. As a result, I was never sure what was clean in the room and what was not.”

• No noisy bathroom fan running when the light is on. A huge plus in my opinion.
• Smoke odor in corridor near rear entrance when we entered.

“This hotel completely met my expectations. Friendly, professional, prompt check in. Room was very clean and was well equipped (decent cable TV channel selection, free wireless internet, refrigerator, microwave, iron & board, comfortable mattress, sufficient storage space). I'd certainly return again and recommend it to my friends and family.”

• I thought the whole feeling of the hotel was really good beautiful lobby, homey warm feeling beautiful light room looks out over trees.
• The restaurant was too exposed in the lobby essentially and therefore not inviting.

“Overall I totally loved the hotel. It was low key, warm feeling, convenient, beautiful without that dreadful funneled music and it had a feeling of sophistication not decorated in an ugly way like so many hotels. I was very pleased.”

“The staff here while we were here was so very kind and helpful. I would love to recommend them for a commendation for their warm welcome late at night and their kindness to two ladies who were weary and didn't know where they were going.”

• Very close to airport- heard planes braking throughout the night.

“Overall, hotel was nice and room was a good but I would have been disappointed had we paid their rack rate. Pool and Gym facilities looked good, but didn't have a chance to use them. I should have double checked the location, as this hotel is literally across the street from the Portland airport, and the noise from jets braking upon landing went throughout the night. Perhaps a room on the other side of hotel would have been quieter.”

“I'm a vegetarian and try to avoid restaurants most of the time. I was also traveling without my laptop. This hotel had a business center and a small refrigerator. Two small amenities that I rather liked.”

• Great price for great room, pool, exercise room, Jacuzzi, attractive, clean, great breakfast!
• It could use more charm, real flowers on dining tables, less national chain feeling.

• Check in/out was very easy and staff very friendly.
• Ended up in a smoking room and as non smokers with two children. It was very noticeable.

“Very nice place to stay convenient to mall and met our needs for this trip-staff friendly, however our room was switched to a smoking room, so we had to go buy some room freshener to cover it as we had our children with us and are both non-smokers. Other than that, great place to stay-would recommend it highly.”

• Nice rooms and safe convenient location.
• Check in did not go smooth, hallways needed trash pick-up, and they added extra charges to room.

“Went to check in (30 minutes early) room was not ready (that was fine), came back 2 hours later and room was still not ready. They gave me another room, got to that room and someone was already in it! Finally got a room, hallway had lots of dishes, etc. from room service that had not been cleaned up and our new room had a stack of empty pizza boxes outside it. At check out extra charges were added to room, stating we ate at the restaurant, which we did not, and charges were removed from bill. Overall hotel was nice, but disorganized.”

“I was at the same hotel a year ago. Since then nothing changed, same friendly staff, clean rooms, 10 minutes from downtown Portland, right off the highway (which is great because I drove there from Massachusetts). A must for a business traveler and very convenient for leisure/vacation.”

• The staff was friendly and helpful and the beds, with their down comforters and fluffy pillows, were fantastic for two very weary travelers.
• The restaurant's breakfast was rather expensive, with a continental breakfast costing $6.

“The Hilton Garden Inn, Portland is a wonderful hotel close to the airport and the mall. It is new and beautifully furnished, with comfortable beds and lovely rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a small indoor pool and hot tub, a complimentary full service business center, high speed Internet access, and a restaurant (Our only complaint was that the breakfast was too expensive... $6, I believe for a simple continental breakfast). The best part about our stay was the staff. Our flight was delayed and we didn't get to check in to the hotel till 2 am, but we were met by a friendly, smiling face, who told us that he would extend our check-out as late as 2 pm if we needed to sleep in. We were very grateful for the offer!”

• Warm cookies at the reservation desk, and quiet! Great night sleep. Comfy beds. Refrigerator and microwave in room.
• The chair in front of the computer access port and table was too low for the desk. No ottoman for the chair.

“New, easily accessible to Portland Jetport, with beautiful, spacious rooms, well-suited for the business traveler as well as families. Quiet, clean environment. Beds are exquisitely appointed and luxuriously comfortable. Staff were friendly and professional and very service-oriented and accommodating.”

• It was clean and room was large, check in was easy.
• Bed was extremely hard, pillows were dead.

“We have stayed in the motel again, this time bed was comfortable and pillows were fluffy. The only complaint the last stay was, we arrived at midnight with our children and there were no sheets for the cot and only 2 towels.”

• For the price it had just what we needed, a clean bed, pool, Jacuzzi and easy access.
• Slightly hard to locate, IN near airport, once we knew it was easy.

“The hotel was perfect if you just needed a clean place to stay, with a few amenities. The restaurant portion however, seemed a little high priced for eating just on the side of the lobby with no real ambiance.”

• Apart from the service, which was excellent, we appreciated the in-room fridge/microwave/coffee facilities.
• Room 211's bathtub had some yucky mildew/grunge in the corners, but we forgot to mention it during our stay.

“As one would expect, Hilton sets itself a very high standard in every respect and, in our view, met that standard.”
