• Warm cookies at the reservation desk, and quiet! Great night sleep. Comfy beds. Refrigerator and microwave in room.
• The chair in front of the computer access port and table was too low for the desk. No ottoman for the chair.

“New, easily accessible to Portland Jetport, with beautiful, spacious rooms, well-suited for the business traveler as well as families. Quiet, clean environment. Beds are exquisitely appointed and luxuriously comfortable. Staff were friendly and professional and very service-oriented and accommodating.”

• It was clean and room was large, check in was easy.
• Bed was extremely hard, pillows were dead.

“We have stayed in the motel again, this time bed was comfortable and pillows were fluffy. The only complaint the last stay was, we arrived at midnight with our children and there were no sheets for the cot and only 2 towels.”

• For the price it had just what we needed, a clean bed, pool, Jacuzzi and easy access.
• Slightly hard to locate, IN near airport, once we knew it was easy.

“The hotel was perfect if you just needed a clean place to stay, with a few amenities. The restaurant portion however, seemed a little high priced for eating just on the side of the lobby with no real ambiance.”

• Apart from the service, which was excellent, we appreciated the in-room fridge/microwave/coffee facilities.
• Room 211's bathtub had some yucky mildew/grunge in the corners, but we forgot to mention it during our stay.

• Quiet for being at the airport.
• Surly desk clerk, very uncomfortable bed, room requested wasn't what they gave us, breakfast dishes in hallway late afternoon, dirty coffee pot.

“Many might enjoy this hotel - business travelers needing something close to the airport, for example. However, don't expect the most comfortable beds. The coffee pot wasn't clean. The room we requested (and confirmed twice) wasn't what they had ready for us. The desk clerk copped an attitude when we asked her to give us what we reserved. There were breakfast dishes in the hallway when we went up to the room - at 4 in the afternoon! Many of the cable channels were snowy. Only one computer in the business center. If you travel with a laptop this won't be a problem since there is high speed access in the rooms. Perhaps we arrived on an off day. Otherwise, this hotel is no better or worse than your average 2 1/2 star hotel.”

• The amenities fit our needs perfect, the room was large and the hotel offered a fitness room and check out package; the staff was very considerate.
• I wish I could have the opportunity to stay here again at a discount price.

“There was a problem when we initially arrived, but the staff went out of their way to help us and to make up for any uncomfortable feelings. It is also important to us to have a fitness facility, which they accommodate, and they also had a kit to check out for in-room fitness needs. The location was also perfect for us wonderful stay at a wonderful price!”

• Will only use shuttle to the mall not the old port.

“Fast pickup at the airport. Room was ready and clean. Not offered free water like the person next to me but no big deal. Disappointed in the shuttle. Won't take you to the old port but will take you to the mall, not much of a location difference. Great for business traveler. Stay at the Double Tree for leisure.”

• The staff were all really wonderful people, helpful, and responsive when we needed advice and help.
• The breakfast food is only mediocre, but we aren't breakfast people anyway.

“For a mid-priced hotel, I really liked it. I wasn't so sure about being so far from downtown, but really, it was only a 10 minute drive there. Though it was very close to the airport, I never heard a single plane taking off or landing. It was new and clean feeling. The staff were all wonderful, even the new front desk girl who was from Bulgaria. It was obvious she was nervous and inexperienced, but her patience was good and manner pleasing. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast food, but then hotel's like these usually have mediocre breakfast buffets. It should have been included in the price as I thought it was over priced for the offering. I didn't use the pool or the workout room as the weather was lovely when we were there so we got all our exercise from walking around town. But they appeared clean and new too. My only other complaint would be that the air conditioning was set too low and froze us. I had to keep turning it off in our room, but the hallways must have been set for 60 degress. We needed a sweater every time we went out of our room.”

• very nice rooms. bathrooms were particularly well cared for.
• few nearby choices for eating.

“I liked this hotel. First impression is that it truly is a "garden" hotel because the grounds are immaculate and beautiful. The desk help was pleasant and accomodating - they even pass out warm cookies to the new arrivals. The rooms were well furnished and clean - particularly the bathrooms. Everything worked, including the high-speed internet connections in the room. I'd be glad to return, even though we had to search for a restaurant outside the hotel because we thought the in-house cafe was overpriced and limited.”

• It was in a very nice location at the airport.
• I do not like handicap rooms!!! My husband is tall and they do not work well for him.

• It was clean
• The walls where paper thin you could here everything in the next room and hallway

“Though this hotel was clean, It was loud, you could not get any sleep if the person in the next room was watching their tv. Or if anyone was in the hallway, The evlavator was broken so we had to climb up the stairs.”

“Overall, the hotel was great for the discounted price I got. My only complaints were that the hotel staff cursed in front of my young children when the elevator got stuck briefly (he did apologize after) and that the first room we were sent to was not cleaned. They did personally escort us to the next room to make sure it was to our satisfaction.”

“The Hilton Garden hotel in Portland, Maine was a terrific place to spend a few days. Throughout the course of my trip, I stayed in 5 different hotels and this Hilton had the nicest staff, the largest room, the best views and was the only one that offered great cookies at night. Great place!”
