• Convenient location , clean rooms , complimentary breakfast.
• South Portland put us in a smoking room the 1st night which was very unpleasant , but switched us the 2nd night.

• Convenient and newly remodeled.
• Poor housekeeping, no cinnamon rolls.

“Hotel is being renovated. Rooms smelled. Housekeeping did not change towels. Pool was closed for several days. Holiday Inn Express usually has Cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Was told they were on backorder. It would be nice if they had USA today in lieu of the local paper.”

• Old furniture in rooms, hallways were very messy with cleaning supplies.

“Hotel was easy to find and very friendly staff. The hallway outside of the pool was always wet - they either need to keep it dry or put up floor is wet signs. I saw several people slip.”

• Nice little kitchenettes and location.
• front desk staff could not get the reservation correct, had to go to the front desk 4 days in a row to et a new room key.

“I have stayed at this hotel before and was pleased although this time I had problems with the reservation and ended up having to go to the front desk mostly every day to get a room key as the they would lock me out of my room.”

• It was if I was at home I enjoy the section of living room ,kitchen, bedroom, bathroom into one it was very nice .. Thank you.
• The only thing I would like if it had a whirlpool.

“The Sable Oaks Suites is a pretty good value. In this case you can safely take Suite to mean spacious. Also a plus, not only did the room have a little fridge and microwave, it also had clean dishes.”

• In the process of remodeling... I wish I was informed. Bare bones room...no pen, paper, info on breakfast in room etc.

“The hotel was in a very good location and the property was not bad structurally. I was a bit upset over the state of remodeling... numerous carts of supplies etc. in hallways, workers present and so-on. the room was very bare bones and needed more of a welcoming feel as well as the staff. I would not have included this property in your selection knowing the renovations were ongoing... very bad representation!!!!”

“Nice hotel. We have stayed at Sable Oaks a few times. We have checked in late and left early the next day so we have never used the pool or other facilities. The self service breakfast is a nice touch.”

• Lots of space in hotel rooms and great indoor pool.
• A lot of crabs at breakfast buffet.

“We were VERY pleased overall with this hotel. We have 4 children and the rooms were spacious and the indoor pool was a lot of fun for us all. The hotel is close to everything! The Maine Mall is right down the road and Old Portland is just a short drive way! The hotel staff was nice but the one maid we saw was overloaded and behind with service. We will stay there again out next trip to Portland.”

• Nice location and convenient to interstate
• Furniture in the room were worn and marred. Beds and bedding not as I would expect of a 2 1/2 star facility.

• The breakfast buffet was very nice. Usually continental breakfast includes bagels, muffins. This had plenty of choices for everyone.
• The price of the video games and movies.

“It is a very nice, relaxed, clean, friendly environment. I needed someplace that I felt was safe for my children and I for a last minute trip for a family funeral. ”

• All rooms were suites.
• Because of size, the TV was about a foot away from the foot of the bed'; also very limited choice of TV channels; only CNN for news.

“Excellent location. Very friendly and efficient staff. Accommodations excellent. Because we were there for 3 days, we took advantage of the continental buffet in the morning, ate out for lunch and for dinner ate in twice and out once.”

“This is a retired Amerisuites that is in dire need of a face lift The location is convenient and it has a pool. The fitness room was sparse with equipment that was out of order. The room was poorly maintained the furniture worn and the pull-out couch uncomfortable. ”

• Check in staff was most helpful. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise.
• Nothing specific.

“Check in was great. Parking easy. We were just passing through but at another time it would be nice to check out the pool and exercise facilities. Some of the areas seemed a little run down as well as some of the room furnishings. The extras of a small fridge and microwave would be great if staying there. The in room coffee was awful but the coffee in the lobby was very good. The wide choices and pleasant seating area for breakfast was a nice surprise since it was our first time there.”

“We returned to our room at 3:30 on Monday, December 26 to find our room had not been touched by housekeeping. We called the front desk to complain. The best they could do was give us clean towels because housekeeping had all left for the day. I made the bed.”

• Staff was very friendly, free breakfast was wonderful.
• I stayed in room 621, it looked very dreary and old compared to the hotel lobby. The furniture was beat and the room smelled.

“The hotel is in a great location, the free breakfast was really good. Nice pool, and the staff was wonderful. The room was horrible, dirty and drab. Seemed very old compared to the rest of hotel.”

• Mattress was horrible with springs sticking through. Noisy self closing very loud doors.

“When told we wanted a quiet area, we were put near the kitchen. The room had pretzels on the floor from the previous guest. The mattress was horrible we should have slept on the floor. The doors slammed shut, very loud that noise was constant. ”

“A fine hotel if flying in and out of Portland. They appear to target business travelers seeking a suite with an office part of the suite rooms. The room was clean and staff was friendly. The hotel offers little as far as hotel services but does offer an airport shuttle which runs at all hours.”

• Alliance with the marriott to use their jacuzzi; and restaurant made this feel like a retreat area for a reasonable price
• Nothing! It was great!

“What a pleasant surprise to find this hotel at an affordable price after a week of less than adequate lodging! It sparkled on the outside & inside. It had pleasant staff; provided a better than average breakfast,and all equipment worked. Once we arrived we didn't have to leave until checkout since a hotel that was a beautiful 5 minute walk away had a good restaurant and spa services. No need to wander around an unfamiliar area looking for a tasty meal!”

• The setting was lovely for walking and jogging. I appreciated the workout room.

• Easy access to many restaurants, shopping, airport. Room was beautiful, clean, comfortable.
• Charged for a movie we did not watch. After arguing, they did take it off the bill.

“Overall, the hotel is very good. The location is right next to the mall area. The room included a sofa and wet bar, albeit the layout seemed to lack sufficient functionality. Furniture and bedding were in excellent condition. However, the placement of bathroom fixtures was somewhat akward.”

“This hotel needs to be updated. The mattress on the bed was terrible. The air conditioner was extremely noisy. There were no available newspapers in the lobby. I asked for a price on a local activity, and found out later they gave me incorrect information.”

• I liked the easy access to the highway and that we were 20 minutes from everything.
• The pool area could have been cleaner and the furniture had damage.

“This hotel was great for families. It is centrally located with easy access to everything a family might want to do. The breakfast had something for everyone. The staff was very friendly and had printed directions for all the places we wanted to go. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for families in the area.”

“Very nice hotel. The rooms are quite large, there is a nice indoor pool: also a good continental breakfast. On the negative side there are no fitted sheets on the beds, by the time you wake up in the morning, there are no sheets under you.”

“The bed was too hard to sleep on for my wife and myself. It was a non-smoking room but reeked of smoke. The wife had to cook in the microwave a bag of popcorn to reduce the smell. I talked to the front desk about it and they were willing to move us but once you move into a room with a child you do not want to be moving again. They did not have enough channels to watch. The breakfast was ok. The security was lax. The door near the pool was not locked and the sign said you needed a key at all times to enter the building. They should change the sign to let people know when the doors will be locked.”
