• The room was clean and the breakfast was pretty good.
• Our room was close to the breakfast storage room so it was somewhat noisy early in the morning.

“Over all the room and hotel were great; clean and comfortable. They did serve breakfast, but the layout was not very convenient so when a larger number of people were trying to get the food it became very congested.”

• Family friendly. Great expanded breakfast and snacks included.

“This was a group trip (3 families). All of us were impressed with the room and friendliness of the staff. There is an impressive continental breakfast with extras like home made waffles and breakfast sandwiches at no extra cost. There was always coffee, fruit, cookies and juice available in the lobby which is excellent when traveling with children. The hotel is convenient to the lobby and just far enough away from the attractions not to be bothered by the crowds. I highly recommend this hotel.”

• Free breakfast including freshly made waffles.
• Difficult to find.

“I was pleasantly pleased with this hotel. It meg or exceeded my expectations. I will be glad to stay here again in the future. It is close to the Mall/Stores, restaurants, and night entertainment.”

• Personal touch putting out a snack at 4:00 which was homemade.
• Nothing.

“Great hotel. Staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Everything was clean and neat even though the hotel was completely full.”

• Small rooms, public areas dirty and unacceptable.

“Rooms are very small, breakfast room was a disaster, towels are the thinnest I've ever seen. Keep looking!”

• Dining room too small to accommodate all the guests comfortably.

“There was a lot of road construction going on which really was not the hotels fault, but it made going and coming a bit difficult to maneuver.”

• The continental breakfast was incredible, best I ever had.
• There was a lot of ice in the parking lot. Dangerous

“The staff was friendly and the rate was reasonable. My room had a refrigerator and microwave. The high speed internet was also reliable. I will be looking to stay at more Fairfield Inn's in the future, hoping for the same service. Portland Maine people are very nice.”

• Had everything we needed; good breakfast; pool.
• Crowds at breakfast; but not major problem.

• A refrigerator and microwave were provided as well as a free breakfast with a variety of options.
• Needs more parking. The TV sound was limited to the point where I could not hear the TV.

“The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and as spacious as one would expect in a motel of this type. The refrigerator and microwave were a pleasant surprise as was the variety offered by the breakfast. Since I did little but sleep in the room, it satisfied my needs adequately. A sign indicated the availability of free wireless access, but I did not have my PC with me so I was unable to take advantage of that. I would stay there again.”

• Were gracious about holding our luggage until we could check-in; very helpful.
• Elevator is outside the hotel door, inside the entryway...somewhat inconvenient as you have to use room key to operate.

• It was very close to the Maine mall.
• Very limited channels on TV. for viewing, no movie channels available like HBO.

“The hotel was clean in a good location, right down the street from the stores and shopping center, largest in Maine. It was quite a ways from the Maine port and I saw no brochures offering area's of interest about and around Portland for the day I did not like that I had to put my credit card on file , after having paid for the hotel upfront, for incidentals. No free local calls or long distance calls.”

• Rooms were clean, Television selection excellent
• Temperature of Rooms hard to control.

“Overall, this hotel is well located, being just outside of the Maine Mall area (you can throw a stone and hit the mall). The hotel staff were very courteous, check-in was a breeze and the hotel has a painless process for wireless internet. What would most discourage me from returning is one of my biggest criteria: the ability to keep the room at a suitable temperature. This room was stuffy (even by my wife's warm standards!), and no altering of the thermostat would fix it.”
