• Good location, clean quiet rooms, pleasant staff.
• Daughter thought that the pool was a little small.

• Comfortable, clean, friendly staff.
• Proximity to the highway made it a bit loud at night.

“Nice hotel, comfortable, clean, price was perfect. Location was not particularly close to downtown Portsmouth but was convenient to the highway. We would definitely stay there again.”

• How quickly staff was to answer our service call.
• Short staffed for the breakfast not sure what was happening.

“I found the staff friendly and offered assistance w/o hesitation. Meet our needs and would go back. Visible signs of remodeling/upgrading. Hotel Manager was outstanding in making the feel important when service was called.”

• Hotel was just off a major highway and could hear traffic at night.

• Liked the breakfast, the food was fresh and the staff were friendly.
• The beds were hard and squeaky when you sat or turned in them.

“Good side; the staff were great. We had fresh towels and made up beds each day. The food was fantastic. Try breakfast, you'll be very impressed. The maintenance man was very quick to help move a fridge and microwave to our new room when we had to switch rooms because the headboard fell off the wall when we sat on the bed and when the bed was moved to fix it, the bed broke. Bad side; the pool is small and the hotel is going through renovations. The beds were hard and squeaked when you sat or turned over on them. Otherwise clean and friendly.”

• Dirty due to construction, saw large rat run from abandoned building next door into the hotel facility.

“Once construction is complete and abandoned building is razed, it should be a nice place to stay and rodent free.”

• Inconvenient location from the elevator.

“The hotel on a whole was easy to find, and was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is under renovations, so it's not that pretty to look at. The hallways are very long with only one elevator.”

• Room smelled of vomit, headboard fell off of wall.

“While on the surface the holiday inn seemed nice enough, our room itself was unacceptable. Half of the room smelled as if someone vomited over the side of the bed, and the heavy headboard fell off the wall (nearly injuring my traveling buddy) at the slightest shift in bed. The staff was apologetic and otherwise helpful, but it seems that the maintenance of the room was sub-par. For future trips, I¿ll be going across the street to America¿s best inns and suites, where we stayed before, for future trips.”

• Location to shopping, a computer in the lobby for internet access.
• Pool and workout room was substandard. Overall the hotel seemed dirty.

“I received a bill on the day of checkout 1/2 of the stay. I prepaid for two days but they only had me listed as paying for one night.”

• Excellent housekeeping staff and front desk staff.
• Would like to have a continental breakfast.

“Good place to stay. Would definitely stay there again. Large rooms. Doesn't have a continental breakfast and that would have been nice.”

• Quiet rooms, could not hear others next door.
• Only one elevator, children staying at hotel playing with elevator buttons, very inconvenient.

“Hotel was in a good location, clean and well supplied: extra pillows, soap, good curtains for sleeping. The pool was nice when it was not filled with so many children.”
