• Comfortable room. Nice staff and convenient parking.
• Room did not include free breakfast.

“Nice, and quiet place with good parking. Close enough to downtown Portsmouth for convenient access by auto, but it is not walking distance to anything.”

• Location off the interstate and 3 miles from shopping and great dining.

• Desk clerk was so friendly. Rooms were restful.
• No complimentary breakfast.

“As soon as you enter the lobby you get the feeling you are in a facility that is a cut above the norm. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, a respite above and beyond the sterile atmosphere of many hotels. The rooms are comfortable and roomy. And what a treat to experience a flat screen HD TV.”

• I liked that we could eat in at the hotel.
• We had a false fire alarm that was triggered by the kitchen.

“We had trouble finding the hotel because it was among trees and a business park was located very near. The sign was tiny, and our GPS couldn't find it. It needs to be more visible with a bigger sign. Also, there were no cookies at check-in. I think this is a feature during the week. I didn't know there was a pool either.”

• All newly renovated rooms, HDTV-flat screens and wonderful staff.
• It is a little difficult to locate.

“Very nicely remodeled rooms with everything you could need. Microwave, fridge, safe, flat screen HDTV. The staff is so friendly and helpful.”

• Front desk manager very friendly, helpful.
• Fan in heater/cooling unit very, very noisy. Woke us up multiple times at night, couldn't talk over it.

“Great location and management. Only problem is the rooms heat/cooling unit was so noisy we couldn't hear the TV or talk when it came on. It also woke us up at night.”

• The first room we were in smelled like smoke & it was non smoking.

• I loved the location to downtown Portsmouth. We loved the TV!
• The sound of the highway.

“This Courtyard by Marriott was very clean and had a super friendly staff. It's location was close to perfect, and the Kittery outlets and downtown Portsmouth. My husband loved the giant flat screen TV. Need to say more?”

• Friendly staff, gorgeous views, pool and rooms.
• I loved everything.

“The staff was polite and friendly. The beds were comfortable, beautiful rooms. We spent most our time enjoying the hot tub and pool. I like the convenience of being able to work with my wireless laptop while staying there.”

• The decor was beautiful.
• They never locked the adjoin door after 2 requests to do so.

“I would not say they are a 3 star hotel due to the renovations they had no amenities, they advertise chocolate chip cookies and never received one even after asking I only received a rain check, I felt uncomfortable that the adjoining door was never locked after repeated requests and I was there for three days and the sheets were never changed but the beds were made. I found the sock I slept in, in between the sheets the next night. The staff seemed helpful even though there was no follow through on my requests. And the hotel smelled of the renovations being completed but only in the lobby.”

• Very clean, extremely comfortable bed, Internet access.
• Not convenient to downtown Portsmouth.

“Very clean room, staff was very helpful, and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel room. The wireless internet signal was somewhat weak, but they had a computer in the lobby that was open to all guests. The pool and whirlpool looked very clean and inviting, although we did not have the chance to use them.”

• Continental breakfast is thin for the price of the room.

• In the midst of the cold of winter, their warm pool and Jacuzzi were fabulous!
• Can't think of anything.

“It was conveniently located and easy to find from the Boston airport. I suppose having the pool and Jacuzzi all to me added much to my positive experience. Nice to have a restaurant available, though we did not use it.”

• New TV's, quiet room for sleeping, window that opened.
• Florescent light bulbs, scratchy towels.

“Overall, this was a fine experience. This Courtyard Marriot should have a larger Marriot sign at the entrance. Choice of current on demand movies would have been nice. Overall it was fine for a 2 night stay. Desk clerks had very little knowledge of good restaurants in Downtown Portsmouth, and were not great with directions in the downtown area, but they were friendly. The coffee in the cafe was excellent, but the only wine they had at the bar was a very poor chardonnay. I would stay there again when in Portsmouth. ”
