• The service and the friendly staff!
• There was nothing that we did not like.

“This hotel was a most pleasant surprise - although we anticipated a good hotel, we were so very impressed with the environment, the professional attitude and the friendly and very professional staff! Also the free breakfast was superb!”

• The crisp clean while bed linens were inviting.
• The pool was outdoors, an indoor pool would have been preferable.

“Based on the decor I would deduce that the hotel had recently been renovated. The staff was friendly and helpful beyond what would be expected. My husband and I enjoyed our stay and felt fortunate when we heard other guests.”

• It had a fine clean spacious room.
• The breakfast area was crowded with not enough space for everyone.

“This was a very good hotel. The room was clean and spacious. There was a desk with a very comfortable chair which made working easy. The complimentary breakfast was more than adequate.”

“This hotel was perfect for us. We were able to get a room with two double beds. Our room had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. A continental breakfast was available every morning.”

• I liked that the room was clean and comfortable. It was also an easy check out.
• I did not like the fact that the area for breakfast was very small. It was packed on Sunday am and I needed to bring my food back to the room.

• The courteousness of the staff. They made you feel very welcome.
• I have no negative comments.

“Our stay at this hotel could not have been much better. It was the perfect start to a wonderful vacation. At check in, the clerk made it a point to place us in a room, that had both a microwave and a refrigerator, since we were there 5 days. We were treated as well as someone who was charged "top-dollar!".”

• Great breakfast, comfortable beds.
• Chairs in breakfast area so big you couldn't move around.

“The room next door was very loud and it was after midnight. We called down to the front desk and let it ring at least 20 times, no answer. Finally my husband went downstairs only to find the desk clerk on a personal phone call ignoring her duties to the guests. Other than that we had a pleasant stay. The location is nowhere near the beach.”

• It was near downtown Portsmouth.
• The overnight staff was rude.

“When I asked about the inability of air-conditioning control, the overnight guy asked to go into the room and I said my wife was asleep so he shrugged and said there's nothing I can do. He was quite rude and unhelpful.”

• It is being updated by being remodeled.
• Our carpet was getting wet for some reason the clerk came and looked at it and nothing done at that time.

“Other than the above statement we found it to be very accommodating. They had a nice continental breakfast. They offered a lot of choices.”

• The new mattress was more comfortable than my own at home!!
• Very expensive to rent movies on demand

• I could have used one more blanket. It is New Hampshire in the winter.

• Wound up in 2 double beds, would have preferred a queen single bed.

“Overall the hotel was great. Would have been better if we had stayed both nights. But what can you do when the highways are bad. We ended up in a crappy Motel just outside Hardford Conn.”

• The comfort after a long trip from Europe.
• Can't think of anything.

“This hotel is very comfortable, has access to free internet (e-mail etc.), attractive display of coffee- and tea-service in the lobby - including freshly baked cookies. The room is clean, appreciated the chair with hooker and plenty of lights I could read by (something that is almost impossible in most hotels). Free breakfast has something for everybody, free newspaper too. The only drawback is that I couldn't find a restaurant close-by - and I mean close-by, a restaurant I could walk too after having traveled 16 hours.”

• The breakfast selection was excellent. Warm cider and chocolate chip cookies on arrival.
• Bedding was nice, but not heavy enough for me personally.

• Real towels, clean--not 'cheap' like Fairfield Inns I have stayed at in the past.
• Buffet area did not have enough seating; I ate my cereal in the car.

“This was not like the Fairfield Inns I have stayed at in the past; this was more like a Courtyard Inn. Will definitely give these strata of Marriott lodging another chance in the future.”

• Very good location off I-95, convenient as a stopover on longer trips into Maine and other parts of northern New England.
• No major complaints except vending machines only accepted coins, not bills.

“Everything you would expect in a Fairfield Inn. Clean rooms, relatively up to date, good service levels, decent breakfast, convenient location. Excellent stopover point for those traveling from NY tri state area into NH or Maine. Good value.”

• The maid never cleaned our room on Saturday. We called and it still was not taken care of.

“Provided gym facilities at a separate location. Employees were very busy but seemed to keep up pretty well with everything, except for not cleaning our room after repeated requests. Enjoyed our stay but there were no restaurants in area that stayed open later.”

• Didn't like the fact we couldn't get a king size bed, double bed isn't very comfortable for 2 people, so we slept in separate beds.
