• Indoor pool, exercise, good/bright in room lights.

“This is a very attractive hotel. The rooms have nice bright lights so you can read in bed. Very nice exercise room and indoor pool/jacuzzi. The staff was very friendly.”

• Multiple ways to get to pool.
• Check in was not as pleassant as we expected.

“The hotel is very clean. There was a rollout cot in front of our room through out our stay. The trashcan in the bathroom had not been emptied prior to our arrival and we were given only one bath towel had to call for more.”

• Did not change sheets daily..we were there for 8 days, sheets changed once.

• Very friendly and welcoming staff, super comfortable beds, and free parking.
• Because the property is in an office park, there are no restaurants nearby.

“The hotel makes a wonderful base for visits to Salem and other points in Essex County. It is in a corporate park, which makes for a tranquil setting but means there are no restaurants within walking distance. It is convenient enough to the highway and back roads, however, so there are plenty of places to eat and shop within 2-3 miles. The staff here was especially nice, even by Marriott standards, and the room was super comfortable and attractively decorated. We did not use the indoor pool but the facility looked inviting. The guest laundry was a nice amenity and the staff even gave us free detergent. The breakfast buffet was ample and fairly priced for the wide range of foods offered. I would definitely stay here again if I return to the Salem area.”

• Went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and relaxed after a hectic day.
• The Sunday morning waitresses stood and talked to each other for a good 5 minutes before they started waiting on tables, lots of loud laughing.

“The hotel was pleasant and the room was comfortable. I was on the concierge level on floor 6 and my room had a business office feel with regard to connectivity. DSL, other cords were provided and I could charge all my tech stuff in one place while I was surfing the net. The flat screen TV wasn't bad either!”

• The comfort of the beds & linens.
• Clerks couldn't give knowledgeable directions to surrounding areas.

“The forest night I stayed, everyone was friendly and helpful. The store located in the hotel did not have books or magazines. The front desk clerks could not give me directions on their own, they had cards to hand out. No one was familiar with the area, so on my way home what was supposed to be a 20 minute ride to 495, was 45 minutes.”

• The pool was dirty, seemed mildew.

• Nice room/beds on concierge level.
• Elevator broke for 4 days. No towels in pool area. Renovations inconvenient.

“They said the elevator was being inspected - for 4 days?! Had to ask for towels in the pool area - when few people were using it - so really no reason to run out. Renovations on the spa/gym made facilities difficult to use. A nice hotel, but could be better. At least the staff was very nice.”

• Very convenient to Salem.
• No refrigerator or microwave in room until we asked.

“Three star rating based on expensive full service restaurant, bar and room service. No continental or other gratis breakfast. No microwave or refrigerator in room (but were supplied when we asked). Perfectly nice room, but less well appointed (beds, TV, clock, etc.) than at 2 and 2.5 star hotels at which we've stayed. Best in the area is the other Marriott Springhill Suites - rated at 2.5 but more comfortable and serviceable for family travelers. Very nice staff and very convenient to Salem MA, fine, probably, for weddings or conferences.”

• Children in the pool/Jacuzzi after 10 p.m. with toys & bubbles.

“Hotel was very nice, easy access, plenty of parking. Room was nice and clean. We happened to be there during an unschooling conference and were disappointed that the hotel staff did not have any restrictions in place for the common areas such as the pool/Jacuzzi. At 10:30 p.m. we gave up on using the Jacuzzi as the area was full of screaming kids of all ages; there were even bubbles and toys in the Jacuzzi. I am sure the staff was doing their best to deal with the situation but felt that older travelers were kind of left out in the cold for the weekend. Overall though, the hotel was acceptable.”

“The room wasn't huge, but had a nice area to put our crib so that our baby could sleep and wasn't disturbed by the TV, lights, talking. The pool was great, although it had a lot of chlorine in it. The location was fantastic-right off the expressway and close to many different areas. Very classy hotel and the bed were like sleeping on a cloud! We would have said it was a 4 star if they had provided breakfast.”

• GREAT bed, nice bathroom, nice amenities (shampoo, etc).
• Broken sidewalk outside rear entrance.

“This was a great experience for us because we were getting in late from Logan airport. The hallways were nice and the bed was wonderful. There was plenty of room in the room for our suitcases and an ironing board, etc. Great, easy freeway location but not noisy. A little noisy in the hotel in the morning but we were sleeping in since we were still on California time.”

• Liked the beautiful lobby and friendly staff.
• Half drapes in this ground floor room had gap at bottom which compromised privacy from gaze of people outside the building.

• The people who worked there were all friendly and helpful.
• The service in the hotel restaurant was a little slow because they were understaffed.

“This is a very nice hotel in a great location, right off Rt. 128 in Peabody. There is a heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi as well as affordable rooms and a full-service restaurant.”

• The hotel was quiet and it had free Wi-Fi in the lobby.
• In their lobby one of their windows leaked on the floor which I could not tell was wet and by purse got soaked.

• Indoor pool and hot tub.
• Housekeeping did not have our room cleaned even at 2:00 PM and we had been out since 7:00 AM.

“Staff, hotel was great with exception of housekeeping. We came back after about 8 hours out of teh room and the room was still dirty. We called housekeeping 2 times before finally getting our room cleaned, and then they did not change our sheets as requested. The hotel was fine just the issue with housekeeping.”

• My husband forgot his slippers and they sent them to us in Minnesota - great service!
• The cleaning staff were too noisy in the hallway for 8 am.

“The decor was pleasant and the bed was very comfortable. The bath products were better than average and I liked the bump out curtain rod in the bathtub/shower.”

“Checked in they gave me a king bed which I wanted but when I got to the room it was a double. I went back to the lobby and was given a real king room. Then in the morning I got up to take a shower before work and there was no hot water. I called the desk and was told there was not anything anyone could do about it until 7 a.m. That didn't help me; I had to be at work at 7 a.m. So no shower before work, worked 12 hour shift at hospital and thank god there was hot water when I returned. Went to check out in morning and was recharged for stay per the bill under my door. What a disaster of a stay, and this was the Marriott. They did not compensate me for all these issues. And I was very nice too.”
