“Room furniture was dated. Dirt on walls. A lot of road noise from i-95 and rte 1.” Nov 26, 2007 by
Susan from Dalton, MA
“Beautiful hilltop location convenient to Boston, North Shore shopping, beaches, etc.” Oct 30, 2007 by
Chris from Nashua, NH
“My room may have been in some state of rehab, as furnishings were sparse, there were blinds but no curtains (so the room was bright all night), and there was not even a clock in the room. The bathroom floor was dirty and the rug in the room needed vacuuming. Hotel should exceed the 2 star rating based on services, but must have been downgraded due to poor maintenance. This hotel was a big disappointment, and I would not have stayed a second night.” Oct 29, 2007 by
Tina from Bluffton, OH
“Good value however having to clean hair out of the tub was disgusting and no towels racks or mirror in the room was pretty inconvenient.” Oct 28, 2007 by
Mike from North Haven, CT
“The Ferncroft is in a great location for visiting the Salem witch trial attractions and also Boston.” Oct 26, 2007 by
Natasha from Willis, TX
“Every thing was great except the wait service staff in the dinning area. The lady sitting people was very slow and there were several tables clear and ready.” Oct 23, 2007 by
Scott from Moultrie, GA
“Over all a great hotel. The staff could have been better and the location was good just hard to get too because of hwy 1. Over all I would recommend this hotel.” Oct 9, 2007 by
Amyfaith from York, PA
“The Sheraton Fern croft Resort is a great hotel for families, couples and business travelers. There is a lovely indoor pool (which was under renovations when we stayed) and a huge indoor water park, gym and a game room complete with prizes for the whole family. The beds were very comfortable to sleep on and we loved the cushy European style pillows. We would definitely stay there again in the future.” Oct 5, 2007 by
Nat from Indian Head Park, IL
“The hotel is attractive and the room was overall nice, but the bathroom was tiny! The location is good except for the constant U-turns one must take on busy route 1.” Sep 2, 2007 by
Bethe from Nyc, NC
“The hotel was lovely, and the staff wonderful. I loved the pool and the exercise room was well equipped. Great deal for our price and we'd be happy to come back.” Aug 29, 2007 by
Kathleen from Doylestown, PA
“I will not recommend to anyone as I was not able to enjoy the hotel I thought I paid for in advance.” Aug 19, 2007 by
Runan from Novi, MI
“We were staying at the hotel because of my son was getting married at a nearby location. My son informed me that he had left "Welcome Packages" for guests to be delivered to our rooms but the staff not only did not deliver them, the packages were missing half of its contents. We had asked the staff to locate the packages at least 3 times and they were not responsive. We also had requested extra towels and they were not delivered until after the 2nd or 3rd request. The hotel was fairly busy but it seemed short staffed. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated but the service was poor.” Aug 1, 2007 by
Anne from Cary, NC
“Location was great. We had a problem with the housekeeping staff every day. One day they took several small bottles of conditioner, one day they left no shampoo or conditioner, one day they didn't come at all. But everything got fixed when we complained.” Jul 12, 2007 by
Andre from Halifax, NS CA
“Good low cost place to put your head down to sleep unfortunately did not get to use the facilities.” Jul 8, 2007 by
Charles from Meadowlakes, TX
“I would not rate this hotel more than a 2 star - old, rundown.” Jul 7, 2007 by
Sara from Alexandria, VA
“Group check-in prevented individuals from checking in. Construction underway made for a mess in the hallways and stairways. Room was dark and dismal. Hallways were cold in some places and sweltering in others. Stairways were very hot; doors often propped open, which prompted safety concerns. No internet in rooms. Jack on phone but not standard size (phone line not data line). Wireless only worked in lobby (under construction). Forgot a phone cord. Staff checked into it and mailed it promptly. Staff pleasant and helpful.” Jun 30, 2007 by
Lisa from Alta Loma, CA
“The location was fairly easy to access. When the hotel will be completely renovated, the public areas should be very upscale. Gym equipment was excellent, and pool was large. Though they are renovating the rooms, the decor was still unimpressive.” Jun 29, 2007 by
Wes from Pelham, NY
“I have stayed at this hotel many times. It has really gone down hill over past 6 months. Last 2 times there Jacuzzi was broken. Broadband didn't work, and I was told it has been out for 2 months. Place is in the process of a makeover, but I would wait before I stay there again” Jun 11, 2007 by
David from Eugene, OR
“Being renovated and they need to figure out that they should do floors at a time not rent the rooms out that are not finished. When they are done I had stay there again.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 8, 2007 by

“We stayed at the Sheraton Ferncroft Resort the first weekend they opened their new 65,000 square foot indoor water park, called the Coco Key Water Resort. Our six-year old absolutely loved the Parrot's Perch Play Structure, which is described as "An interactive adventure with slides for younger children. Water cannons, and a huge bucket that dumps hundreds of gallons of water every few minutes." There was only one section of four larger slides that he was too short to ride. We are already planning a trip back. Staff attitude seemed excellent in check-in, housekeeping, and the water park. (At check-in, make sure to have a photo ID for the person who reserved the room, and all members of your party present if you are getting water park wristbands.) The only shortcoming I noticed was the hotel's in-house Tradewinds restaurant, which tends to promote their buffet heavily with correspondingly slow menu service. It is okay for breakfast, but for other meals I'd actually recommend the A&W grill right at the water park, or try exploring the local area for the many other food options, including the famous Ipswich Clam Box. The location immediately off Interstate 95 and Route 1 was very convenient. We went into Boston one day (an easy 40 minute drive) but otherwise enjoyed North Shore attractions such as Crane Beach. I suggest searching on Ipswich and Cape Ann attractions and events for more ideas.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 27, 2007 by

“This hotel has the potential to be very nice once all of the renovations are complete. Our room was very nice and relaxing. Far from the chaos present in the lobby area due to significant renovation efforts.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 22, 2007 by
Becky from Newtown, CT
“Total construction zone, could have tolerated that if the room had been decent, couch disgusting, peeling wall paper, the lobby may look good after the construction but the money should have been spent renovating the rooms that needed badly. One of the families opted out of staying driving up just for dinner and then back home six hour round trip.” May 21, 2007 by
Deborah from Bogart, GA
“Horrible experience. Hotel was being renovated, construction debris and workmen everywhere in public spaces - dirty, dusty, and dangerous. We were not informed of this prior to purchase. No pool or other amenities due to construction. Rooms were old and not clean, mold and mildew in bathrooms, smelled musty, bathroom ceiling caving in, spider webs in corners. Booked 3 rooms for family, one room not clean, had sticky stuff on dresser and ? in bathtub. This same room not cleaned first day - had to ask Housekeeping to come in and clean it, they half did it, left sticky stuff on dresser. Hotel staff would not answer calls - stated they were overwhelmed with calls. No wonder, everyone was complaining. ” May 21, 2007 by
Don from Raleigh, NC
“I was completely dissatisfied. The common areas of the hotel were all being renovated. The was no warning this property was under a major renovation.” May 14, 2007 by
Judith from East Meadow, NY
“Poor.” May 4, 2007 by
Cami from Hancock, NH
“Have stayed here three times and have always had overall good experience. Beds are soft and cozy and they have a super pool. Although this time pool was closed. They are in the midst of a massive renovation and so we had to step around that stuff a bit. I am sure they will be making a good hotel better when done. They are also adding a huge indoor water park and I am certain my kids will love it next time we stay there. BTW the restaurant decoration could use some updating (which they are doing) but the food was really great. We had breakfast buffet and dined for dinner. Safe location and plenty of parking.” Apr 30, 2007 by
Sandra P. from West Newton, PA
“Sheraton Corporation should shed themselves of this property before the word gets out!” Apr 26, 2007 by
Daniel from Gloucester, MA
“Very good stay.” Apr 25, 2007 by
Shawn from Auburn, ME
“The Fern croft is located in a very handy location on the North Shore of Massachusetts. It is a beautiful hotel when it is not under construction. We certainly got our money's worth, but we did not see the Fern croft at its best. Staff was very pleasant.” Apr 20, 2007 by
Greg from Downers Grove, IL
“This hotel is under major reconstruction and the rooms they put you in are awful. Stay away from this place until at least the fall of 2007.” Apr 9, 2007 by
Steve from North Attleboro, MA
“Everything but the heater unit worked fine. The heater was either on heat or cool. There was no thermostat. It was either sweltering or cold. The environmental systems ruin an otherwise perfect hotel.” Apr 8, 2007 by
Paul from Franklin, TN
“The staff is in not friendly or knowledgeable of the services they offer. The hotel is in the process of being renovated, a fact they do not divulged. Stay away for now, at least.” Mar 17, 2007 by
Chris from Beverly
“Smelled of cigarette smoke on the non-smoking floor, smelled of mildew in the bathroom, wallpaper peeling off the bathroom wall, no curtains (sheers only) on an east-facing window, we had to share the elevator with construction workers and a huge tub of trash.” Mar 17, 2007 by
Chris from Beverly, MA
“Disappointingly dirty, smelled of cigarettes on the non-smoking floor, smelled of mildew in the bathroom, wallpaper peeling off bathroom wall, no curtains (sheers only) on an east-facing window, we had to cover the window with a blanket, we had to share the elevator with construction workers and a huge tub of trash. Not a pleasant stay.” Mar 16, 2007 by
Beth F. from Little Egg Harbor, NJ
“I traveled up to mass. For two family funerals and on arrival I found both quilts "very" dirty and mold all around bathtub and toilet and I have coped which is a lung disease. They changed me to another room that had less mold and the next morning the toilet did not flush and the shower head was broke the ceiling above was soaked. The explanations that I got each time was that the hotel was about to be done over "sorry". This was very upsetting to say the least.” Mar 12, 2007 by
Leslie from Meriden, CT
“Would not recommend a stay of more than one night. The hotel is old and is supposedly going under complete renovations. The only renovations that were evident was possibly the lobby, the rooms are old, the linens poor, our room alone had two lights not working, the bedspreads and furniture stained, the clock radio not even plugged in but set on the desk. Overall a very poor choice but doable for one night.” Mar 11, 2007 by
Anne F. from Winthrop, MA
“I gave this trip to my sister in law for her birthday and she was in a bind because of a fight she had with her family. So I paid for her to stay for a couple of days. I didn't stay there this time. She did. I myself have stayed at this hotel and love it. It's one of my favorites. I like all Sheraton hotels. The beds are awesome and the rooms very comfortable. People are always nice and professional.” Feb 26, 2007 by
Jenna from Whitehall, PA
“I complained to the front desk and nothing was done to accommodate my concerns.” Jan 29, 2007 by
Britten from Farmington, NH
“The rooms were disgusting- stains and rips all over the floor. Table top deeply scratched and stained all across the surface. Beds were so old you could feel the springs coming through. The steam room was not working and even if it was a scary space. It was all moldy, broken tiles, looked like it has not been given any tlc in many years. This is labeled as a 3 star hotel which is far from accurate; it is also supposedly a "resort" which is false advertising as well.” Jan 16, 2007 by
Virginia from Bristol, RI
“Quite an impressive facade and lobby. Desk clerks polite, professional and accommodating as best they could. Rooms were surprisingly shabby for a 3 star hotel. Unattractive furniture with cracks in the veneer. For each 30 minutes of internet access is excessive. Never experienced that before. When staff is so pleasant it's difficult to complain but this was not a 3-star room in a 3 star hotel by comparison.” Jan 4, 2007 by
Kevin from Woburn, MA
“There is also no elevator to the 2nd floor which was hard for our friends toting large suitcases. I understand they are renovating the hotel next month and will be adding a water park to the resort. We would definitely check it out again after the renovations are complete.” Dec 29, 2006 by
Lily from E. Montpelier, VT
“Hotel in general areas was impressive. However, our room was not as nice as expected after going thru the lobby. We had a smoking room but bed spread had holes in it and coffee pot did not work. Couch also had holes in it. However, we realize that maybe all smokers are not considerate and get sloppy with their habit.” Dec 23, 2006 by
Thelma from Delray Beach, FL
“It was disgusting and depressing. Our bed had a bug shower bar was rusted tiles in bathroom were cracked and had mildew ceiling in bathroom had mold towels did not smell fresh & the TV was very old & did not work well, no hot water, we took cold showers, they changed our room three times trying to rectify the situation, but to it did not help.” Nov 18, 2006 by
David from Troy, NY
“Nice place. Pillows are too mushy.” Nov 5, 2006 by
Mark from Elmwood Park, NJ
“N/A” Nov 5, 2006 by

“Location good Room OK hotel is old.” Oct 19, 2006 by
Marianne from Bronx, NY
“There was a dog show going on in the hotel at the time of my stay and while the hotel maintained cleanliness and had everything covered with plastic the elevators smelled like dog and my youngest son is allergic. He was ok during the stay but he was forced to take medication and that made him slightly drowsy. ” Oct 15, 2006 by
Johnny H. from Oakhurst, CA
“Nice place to stay. Would stay again.” Oct 1, 2006 by
Judy from Puyallup, WA
“Pleasant staff but facility not up to expected Sheraton standards.” Hotel Representatives:
