• Kids loved the spacious room with "separate" areas for them and had a great time in the pool.
• The TV is not viewable from the bed area and the pull out couch at the same time.

“Took the kids away for a few days during spring break. Is only a few miles from Salem. The kids loved the separate sitting area and the pool. The pool was small, but it was enough to please the kids. I liked that it was only 3 feet in the low end and my littlest could touch the bottom. The TV swivels which is nice but is not viewable from the bed area and the pull out couch at the same time. Lucky for us we had a portable DVD player with us so my son used that at night while we watched TV. I recommend bringing one if you have one. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will definitely stay there again.”

• The staff was very helpful and friendly.
• Location was difficult to drive to. Roads confusing.

“The hotel was convenient to Boston and the North Shore once you figured out how to get to it from rate 1. The breakfast has quality food and well stocked. The rooms were roomy enough for 2 or 3 people.”

• The room was comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good. My wife loved the oatmeal.
• Do to school groups the breakfast was crowded.

“The hotel enjoys an excellent location on Boston's North Shore. Plenty of close-by parking. Desk staff was excellent on check-in and checkout. Room was comfortable, but a little cramped around the bathroom and vanity area. Great for three for a couple nights. Due to school groups the breakfast area was crowded and the staff had problems keeping up. Would return to hotel without hesitation.”

• Friendly front desk.
• Extremely small pool.

“While the front desk was friendly, indoor swimming pool was very small. I ordered a king size bed which seemed very small. When i asked the front desk they said it was a king size bed in the room but it wasn't any larger than a queen. Not very convenient to get too.”

• The wireless internet was good, the room was clean, and it met expectations very well.
• The suites are a little cramped, and the layout not great.

• Difficult access from the road.

“The hotel was clean and in nice shape. There were occasional loud plumbing noises, but otherwise everything was fine. Located on a busy highway and somewhat hard to find from Route 1 south, but it was quiet in the room. Breakfast was substantial and good.”

“I was very impressed. I had made the reservation on the wrong date (by one day) in error. The hotel adjusted the date. No problem! It was a lovely hotel which more than met all my expectations.”

• Beds were way too soft.

• Clean and offered lots of extras, i.e. Pool, free breakfast.
• Busy location and a bit hard to get back & forth from Salem.

“The hotel was very clean and well maintained. The pool and spa were also clean and very enjoyable to use. The room was good sized and offered separate sitting and sleeping areas. There was a kitchenette that included a little fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There was free Wi-Fi. The cable was good and included HBO. The bed was a comfortable king, and as promised had "piles of pillows". The free breakfast offered a wide variety of food. The hotel staffs were all very helpful. Especially with providing directions. We got lost twice, and both times a staff member stayed on the phone with us and provided turn by turn directions.”

• Clean and very accommodating staff.
• We have our car broken into on the parking lot and stole our GPS. The hotel staffs are aware of the situation for few months but no sign posted.

“Continue for #14 warning to the customer. There do not seem to have any sort of security in the parking lot. Apparently, the staff told us that it has been happening and they have not caught the person, but they did nothing to protect their customer. Very disappointed.”

• Air conditioning hard to figure out at first and small room when couch is pulled out.

• I liked the spacious room and the amenities included (refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker etc.) The beds were comfortable.
• I did not appreciate being in a room below children who kept us awake late into the night with their noise!

• Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Good amenities in rooms.
• Bathroom fine but could stand improvement.

“Exceptionally friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Not really luxurious, but well-designed, very comfortable suite like room with separated sitting and sleeping areas, great when your child needs to sleep in while you attend to things. Unusually good and varied continental breakfast, actually offered for longer than the stated period! Route One is a challenge to newcomers to the area, but the hotel is convenient to the North Shore (Salem, Gloucester) and Boston. Good restaurants and stores of various kinds are nearby.”

• Only two computers in noisy lobby. Noisy late nights.

“Nice, pleasant, convenient. Have management display signage or pamphlets to ask folks to be quieter at night while in hallways. People like to sleep after 10. Other hotels have this. It was noisy at night.”

• Everyone on staff was outstanding, helpful, pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly, and went out of way to be kind.
• We were exceptionally pleased with everything except that they could not accommodate us for more than one day.

• We liked the size of the room and the cleanliness as well as the buffet breakfast; very convenient.
• The location makes it difficult to get to. The mattress was not as comfortable as I had hoped.

“I would definitely stay there again despite the difficulty in getting to it. The next time, I would request a room that doesn't get the direct sun in the morning and one that isn't located by the elevator and ice machine.”

Had a difficult time getting to the hotel, is accessible only by just one freeway off ramp (two major highways intersect in this area) or by traffic heading northbound only on Rte 1, which is divided.”

• The Amenities were more than expected.
• It is on a one way highway that you really have to work at to get to.

“The Springhill Suites Peabody is wonderful hotel whether you are on a one night business trip or a week long vacation. The room was clean, comfortable and large enough where we did not feel claustrophobic if we had to stay in for a few hours. The amenities were excellent. The pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained, the free breakfast was a wonderful surprise (so much more than dry toast or a bagel with bad coffee). They had free internet service in the lobby or if you have a laptop, you can connect wirelessly right in your room. All in all, an excellent hotel.”

“It is a very good hotel, definitely recommend to others. It's only 10 min drive from Boston downtown. No charge for parking is a bonus.”

• Difficult to get back on to rte 129/95 south. Staff did not know how to get there, even though this is a major highway less than 1/4 mile away.

• The mattress on my bed sagged and was unconformable My friends bed was fine.

• Bed quality was just Ok, I'm used to a pillow top.

• Fantastic breakfast, great bathroom and efficient suite.
• Location/access is confusing for out of Towner's.

“Once you find it, it is a first-rate value. Great rooms, great breakfast buffet (hot items include eggs, sausage, and make-your-own Belgian waffles, easy and delicious) and a million restaurants on the route it is on. The pool is small, but the hot tub is big! Call for directions to the hotel. We used Yahoo maps, but because of the strange way you have to get to the hotel from the highway's), it does not tell you the last few crucial turns. The highway the hotel is located on is divided by a median/fence, so you cannot just pull out and turn left. You have to go to turnarounds and/or exits to change directions, which can be very annoying, as the highway is VERY busy and fast-moving. Still, for the money ($129), a fantastic value.”

“The hotel is clean and fairly new. Nice clean indoor pool. The beds were comfortable but not very plush. Nice mini fridge, microwave and kitchen area in every room. They have a large selection of local delivery menus at the desk. The complementary buffet breakfast was ok but very crowded in the small lobby. This is an ok place to stay on a budget but I really like courtyard much better.”

• It was a smoking room something I asked for them to change but they did not.

“I would not stay at this hotel during another school/summer vacation period. This was my second bad experience with this hotel. They are not able to handle simple requests when they are sold out.”

• Suites were very comfortable, staff friendly, breakfast buffet included.
• Location was a little confusing. Return trip hard to navigate if you leave. We needed printed directions to area attractions.
