  • Location in Boston.
  • There was a nightclub outside of our window that was very loud at 2am.

“We always had to wait at the elevator, they were slow, so that can get frustrating after a while. The room was clean, roomy and except for the street noise in the middle of the night we had a pleasant stay.”

  • The decor in the room and the staff.
  • The music in the lobby was very irritating - tried to read in library and couldn't concentrate.

“I knew it was going to be a great stay when I called, while my friend was driving, to get directions. The aspiring concierge kept me on the phone until we arrived. He gave precise directions in a very confusing area. We made it. The staff gave great suggestions for restaurants and was very helpful.”

  • The comfort and decor of the room was lovely. It was quite spacious.
  • Coffee maker was difficult to access. There was a lot of noise outside when the bars closed.

  • The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
  • Because this is an old restored hotel, the public facilities were very small, almost non existent.

  • Room was beautiful and huge!
  • No parking! Valet was rude and no one could leave a car to check in - in downtown.

“Hotel was great, room was beautiful. However, the valet would not let you leave a car to check-in. I was arriving by myself and was forced to find a meter somewhere in the area at 4pm on a Friday in downtown Boston. For a "4-star" hotel, this service was not what i expected.”

“First time to Boston and the hotel was perfect location for seeing the town. Several attractions within walking distance, and others within a short cab ride. Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a great help that they could print our boarding passes for us so we did not have to stand in line at the airport.”

  • The location to quincy markey was great.
  • Hotel room was very smoky smelling.

“When we checked in they said there were no rooms left with 2 beds so they upgraded us to a 2 room suite at no charge which was great!!! Only bad thing was the room was very smoky smelling.”

  • Friendly Staff.
  • No pool, no gym -not worth the money.

“Elevator stops on each floor. Takes 10 mins at least to get down from the top floor. Room not well air conditoned and no pool/gym on site. Not worth the money and not a 4 or 5 star.”

  • Everyone was friendly, professional, and helpful. It is a beautiful hotel, in a perfect setting.
  • Price of breakfast was a bit steep.

“A beautiful hotel, so close to wonderful Irish pubs, that serve great Irish meals. Very people friendly. They give the best directions, and provide many helpful hints. So close to all I wanted to see. I would go again, and again.”

  • Central location; great convenience; friendly staff; accommodating; quiet atmosphere despite being in the city & having renovation.
  • Needs better air conditioning in rooms like in the lobby; better drainage in sink/tub (very slow).

  • The hotel was very convenient to Fanueil Hall, the subway, and other sites of interest.
  • The rooms were not well ventilated -- the hallways were at least 10 degrees cooler/more comfortable than the rooms. Construction noise during the day.

  • Walking distance to most everything downtown.
  • Room air conditioner did not work, stay in room 80+ degrees for one night.

“Hotel was completely sold out. Room air was broken. Staff was slow to respond, took many hours from our vacation time. Management did move us to a suite the second day, but that took three hours from that days touring. Hotel security was rude when we kept our door open to get cool air from hallway. Guess they didn't like to hear a baby cry from the heat of our room. They could have offered free night to replace the first ruined night.”

“Our flights were late. We reached at 3am. The hotel staff told us rooms are flooded, and we may not have rooms. We will check in hotels around but we may not be able to help. In any case they were not obliged to have rooms for us as we did not call to inform. (we were on the tarmac for 3 hours, how could we have called.”

“The hotel staff were top-notch, organized, friendly, helpful. Everyone in the hotel was courteous and kind. The bed was so comfortable! We really enjoyed it. Nice, quiet, restful stay for two weary business travelers.”

  • Our room was a little small and the view was of a brick building.

  • Our room was huge and gorgeous. The bedding was beautiful.
  • The lobby was pretty unimpressive.

“We had a corner room that was bigger than my husband and my first apartment. It was fantastic. We had 5 huge windows that went to the ceiling that looked out over the financial district. I'd love to go back.”

“The Hilton is not well located. It's difficult to access and not situated near enough to public transportation. Some amenities are hidden - for instance, it took me two days to discover the coffee maker.

  • We couldn't find it by car or foot.

“The hotel was very nice. The lobby had a commercial feel, but the hallways, room and bathroom were lovely. I asked the front desk about coffee in the am and they said there was a coffee maker in the room. I couldn't find it. I called the front desk and a man told me there aren't coffee makers in the rooms and I should go to the third or tenth floor in the morning. Then he said I should just go to the front desk for the coffee. In the morning I called to cancel my wake-up called and asked about the coffee again and I was told there was a coffee maker in the cabinet, and there was. What was that about? Overall the hotel was lovely, even though it was very hard to find by foot and by car. We got lost driving to the hotel and returning by foot in the evening. I would stay there again for such a great price.”

“The management put us in a room that they knew had a broken air conditioner. To compensate they put in a floor fan and rigged the air conditioner unit to run at 72 degrees sometimes. I asked to be put in another room and was told none were available. Also all the bathroom facilities ran very slowly making it uncomfortable for our stay.”

  • You needed a key to use the elevator.

“Everything was excellent except the customer service. Since I was traveling with a male colleague and I am a married female, we needed two beds. Even though I called ahead and was assured this would be available, when we got there they only had rooms with one bed. When I asked them to check for other rooms, they told me nothing was available and gave me an attitude.”

  • The simple yet sleek decor, the location.
  • We liked everything!

“This hotel is just steps away from the Harbor. The staff is superior! The hotel is clean, elegant and we loved the fresh coffee in the lobby every morning! We would stay here every time we visit Boston. PS Boston is fantastic, you do not need a car, just take the T and from the airport we highly recommend the water taxi service.”
