• The staff was very helpful, friendly and prompt.
• The bed was uncomfortable, there was no toiletries in the bathroom and the room had an awful floral smell.

• Rude unprofessional, and incompetent receptionist.

“Though I arrived at 3:15 pm, she denied me a room saying that chek-in time is 4:00 pm. She asked for my cell number that she would call when a room is ready. She or anyone from the hotel never called. I came back at around 5:30 pm and asked for a room, which a different receptionist gave me a
room.”

• Great staff, great beds and pillows, always clean.
• Road structure in Boston is terrible for finding the hotel.

“The Hyatt in the Financial District has a terrific staff, very welcoming. The rooms are furnished with comfortable beds, pillows and linens. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas were immaculate.”

“Third stay at the hotel. Rooms are clean. Price in the resturant and room service was expensive as is parking (I guess what you'd expect in a city). Elevators are super busy had to wait a long time to get up and down to room. Location is great.”

• Proximity to major attractions in Boston.
• Does not live up to the name of Hyatt.

“This is an older hotel that really needs a face lift. I asked for a room with two beds and got two full beds instead of queen, and they were creaky. The TV is a flat screen but is an old style CRT flat screen rather than an LCD or plasma. The wireless phone in the room does not work. The lobby of the hotel is on the 3rd floor, rather than on the street level; you have to take one elevator to the 3rd floor, then walk across the lobby to another set of elevators that go up to the guest rooms. And by the way, the elevators are so old that my family got stuck in one for several minutes; pressing the call button resulted in no answer. The elevator eventually moved and everyone got out safely. The pool was empty, as in no water in the pool! Overall, we were disappointed by this Hyatt. I would not give this hotel more than a 3 star rating.”

• The bed was very comfortable with nice linens and extra, which made for a comfortable nights sleep.
• The breakfast was particularly pricey, about double what would be reasonable.

• Prices for everything, parking, internet.

“Extremely expensive. Had to pay for anything extra like internet service and parking. Limited access via walking to other restaurants. Streets poorly marked and hotel hard to get to for an outsider. Who wants to pay $5.00 for a bottle of water. TV non pay limited. For the price you really do not get much. Rooms need to be upgrades. Staff nice and pleasant.”

• The bed was amazing and felt like we were sleeping on a cloud.
• No fan in bathroom, Elevators acted up, Lobby on second floor.

“Overall, my stay at the Hyatt-Regency in Boston was great. It was very easy to get to, and despite what other reviewers have indicated, the parking was fairly priced ($43/night) for overnight valet parking, with in/out privileges. The hotel was able to accommodate my room requests with no hesitation and everybody I spoke to, both over the phone and in person were very very nice and friendly and eager to make my stay an enjoyable one. The staff at the hotel were available as needed and were open with recommending local sites to visit and restaurants to eat at. There were no problems at all with this hotel, and the beds were amazing - Feels like you are sleeping on a cloud.”

• Price. Front desk staff were very friendly.
• $10 charge for Wi-Fi. Female concierge not helpful. Hair dryer and power strip didn't work.

“$10 Wi-Fi charge and $32/day parking, it seemed to be a pretty good for downtown Boston. Typical clean, nicely furnished business hotel - nothing outstanding, no frills here. Nothing in room materials indicated there was a fitness room and pool. I appreciated a late check out from Front Desk and was told I could change clothes at the end of the day in the fitness center. They didn't tell me it was 3 floors down - by stairs - carrying my very heavy luggage then back up the 3 flights.”

• Our room wasn't ready until 9:00pm.

“The hotel was okay. I was very displeased with the staff. They were unable to accommodate me and my party for 6 hours after check-in time. They offered free drink coupons to use at the bar, despite the fact that I was there with 3 children. There was no reason for the late check-in and I even called and told them the time that I would be arriving. Overall, I was pleased with the location and the room itself, however the staff could have done a better job in providing me with reasonable accommodations while my room was being prepared.”

• Pre-stocked refrigerator - at least 8 things fell out when we opened the door. If we hadn't contacted management, we would have been charged for items.

• Entrance awkward, charge for WiFi, poor sound insulation in rooms.

“Met needs however: Didn't like $25 cleaning fee charged to store our items in mini bar fridge and $10/day for wifi (free in hotels of much lower Star-rating). When returning to hotel room, you entered street level mini-lobby, take elevator to main lobby which you walked across to reach elevators to rooms. A street level entrance to main lobby (even if it required steps) would have been more convenient (and energy efficient) than using 2 elevators.”

• The room was spacious and the hotel was in a convenient location.

“The Hyatt Regency in the financial district of Boston is a very nice hotel in close proximity to many great areas. While the hotel itself was clean and its staff polite, we ran into problems with our room being ready at check-in. The desk staff were very apologetic.”

“Hyatt is a modern business hotel. There are in room coffee makers and a health club. Tourists can walk the freedom Trail sites from here and the Downtown crossing T stop is just around the corner from the hotel. It is a short walk to Chinatown and the Theater district.”
