Kelly from Greenwich, CT
“This hotel was exactly what I was looking for. Clean, decorated in fun patterns, comfortable, not to far from everything in Boston. ” Feb 17, 2005 by
Greg from Bellevue, IA
“A very charming hotel with great location by the fleet center for events. Excellent helpful staff, wonderful atmosphere, dog friendly. within walking distance to just about everything.” Feb 17, 2005 by
Andrew from Loudonville, NY
“This hotel was wonderful. The staff was great, its close to 3 MBTA stops and the hotel was clean and comfortable with many amenities. The other nice thing about the hotel its location, 5 min walk to the north end and Quincy market etc. Its a wonderful place to stay and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.” Feb 14, 2005 by
Robert from El Paso, TX
“We were delighted with the Onyx. The staff was great, the room was great, although on the small side. It was close enough to the action to do a lot of walking.” Feb 11, 2005 by
Kathy from Andover, MA
“The Onyx Hotel is conveniently located to attractions and transit but is not in a historically scenic neighborhood. On the plus side, it is on a street that is less traveled so it is quiet and has very little foot traffic, but one has to look beyond it for entertainment in Boston. The 'feel' is that of a small European hotel. The lounge and the rooms are small but have every amenity. The restaurant is limited but that is not a problem in a major city. I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are gorgeous but small, and provide irons, internet, bathrobes, etc. The shower is great. The small room was not a problem for two adults but frankly, could be troublesome for very large adults or a couple traveling with children.” Feb 9, 2005 by
Sharon from Guilford, CT
“I liked this hotel a lot but would like a shuttle service to Quincy Market at the very least to get closer to shops and food without Feb 8, 2005 by
Michael from Pawtucket, RI
“The hotel is located near the Fleet center. While the neigborhood is interesting, if you stay on a weekend, be prepared to encounter lots of basketball and/or hockey plans. There are many bars in the area and the street is full of drunk young people on weekends. Feb 2, 2005 by
Debrenee from Montpelier, VT
“The Onyx hotel is close to Fleet Center, pubs, great restaurants and within easy and will lit walking distance to Faneil Hall and Downtown Crossing. The bellman and other staff were extremely helpful and nice. The room although small are beautifully decorated and clean and have a rather large bathroom. Not only are they pet friendly, the Onyx caters to guests with pets and this makes it #1 in my book (even though I did not travel with my canine companion).” Jan 27, 2005 by
Margaret from Leominsster, MA “I would recommend the hotel to anyone- staff was great, rooms were terrific and continental breakfast was better than expected.” Jan 21, 2005 by
Kathryn from Irvine, CA
“I was very pleasantly surprised. What a gem of a hotel!” Jan 20, 2005 by
Tom from Bainbridge, GA
“Could not have been better. Great staff, always friendly and helpful. The complementary wine every afternoon was a nice touch. Nice breakfast. One block from the subway.” Jan 20, 2005 by
Annetter from Montclair, NJ
“We revieved a great hotel at a great rate. No complaints” Jan 20, 2005 by
Laura from Vergennes, VT
“It was quiet, clean, and friendly. the staff was very eager to make our stay pleasant-very helpful. its on a small scale, but well-made. the continental breakfast was super. for someone working inthe govt. center, or going to the fleet center, it was a wonderful place to stay. the train comes into north station right there, so that would be a very convenient place for travelers.” Jan 19, 2005 by
Kenny from Columbia, SC
“This was a very fun hotel. The staff was awesome and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. It was a pet friendly hotel, included breakfast and a nightly wine tasting.” Jan 17, 2005 by
Steve from Rohnert Park, CA
“Very nice hotel, rooms were a little small and there was no restaurant open for lunch or breakfast. Very comfortable, clean and convenient, with a friendly and helpful staff.” Jan 8, 2005 by
John from Boston, MA
“The rooms are small, but well decorated and pristinely clean. Bed ultra-comfortable. Music playing as you first walk in to your room after check-in. Interesting selection in the mini-bar!” Dec 16, 2004 by
Aaron M. from Charleston “the staff was incredibly professional, friendly, and helpful; the facilities/amenities were beautiful...quite impressive; the food was better than most of the restaraunts that we attended outside of the hotel; the epitomy of a classy five star hotel.” Nov 10, 2004 by
“Excellent hotel. Tell them to update their directions. Not their fault though, since the big dig makes driving difficult through the area.” Oct 13, 2004 by
“Wonderful weekend getaway! Hotel is new, very clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast, newspaper, health club are also included. Location is a little funky, not exactly downtown, but it is within walking distance to the North End, Waterfront, and Fanuel Hall.” Oct 6, 2004 by
Constance C. from Wayne “The hotel was fantastic. The rooms were very nice and the staff was very accommodating. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I give this hotel a 9.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Gregory M. from Charlotte, NC “Having stayed at numerous hotels in Boston, I believe that the Onyx is overpriced for the size of the rooms and lack of a separate restaurant from the bar.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Vincent C. from Lincoln, RI “Had an enjoyable stay. The only negative was the directions given by the hotel. They were terribly incorrect and in a city that is like a maze, that was not a nice way to start our weekend getaway.” Sep 28, 2004 by
Bill S. from Columbus “Our room was very nice, but much smaller than I expected. If you want a view - forget it, but this hotel is in Boston's north end so buildings very close. We seemed to walk by the hotel, you can't see a sign when walking down the sidewalk. Perhaps because the hotel is so new they just don't have a sign that extends out. Watch out for the lobby floor if you have wet feet - very slick. Close to restaurants and the T. Staff very friendly and helpful. I thought the continental breakfast was very adequate. This is a very lovely hotel with nice facilities.” Sep 22, 2004 by
Jeanroch L. from Bucharest “The hotel was clean and the decoration was good, too. The room was for handicapped persons.” Sep 20, 2004 by
Christine G. from North Weymouth, MA “Hotel and staff was amazing. I didn't want to leave. Beds were more comfortable than the heavenly beds at the Westin.” Sep 20, 2004 by
Eileen D. from Longboat Key, FL “This turned out to be a small boutique hotel near Government Center and the North End. We found it comfortable with continental breakfast and a wine hour 5-6 complimentary!!. Everybody was very pleasant and helpful.” Sep 20, 2004 by
David S. from Waterford, CT “Great hotel everything was perfect!” Sep 19, 2004 by
Jeffrey H. from Spartanburg, SC “Its a lovely hotel. I'd recommend it to everyone. It has nice extras such as an equipped bar, cookies etc. a nice bathrobe, complimentary breakfast and they took to us the airport as a courtesy. Its near the North End with lots and lots of lovely Italian restaurants.” Sep 9, 2004 by
Tina P. from Savage “The Onyx was a beautiful hotel. The staff was friendly, right on down from the check-in counter to the cleaning staff. The location was dead center in the middle of everything in Boston. The directions to the hotel were direct and you hear all the scary stories of driving in Boston. We were amazed how this hotel turned out to be own of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. I'm a flight attendant as well, so lodging is very important to me. I like cleanliness and service first, than location, but this had all three. Would I stay there again? Yes.” Sep 9, 2004 by
Richard C. from South Orange “For a property open only two months, the Onyx was amazing in that they had their act together so completely in such a short time. The complimentary buffet breakfast with real freshly squeezed orange juice and great muffins, for examples, was most unexpected. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate our every need.” Sep 8, 2004 by
Heather A. from San Jose “This was a quality hotel that is fairly new. The retro/nuevo theme is neat, but a little busy in the decor. The room rate included continental breakfast and an evening wine reception. Good service and friendly staff. The hotel is located in an area where after dark and weekends can be pretty quiet - close to lots of sites, but late at night security seemed a concern.” Sep 8, 2004 by
Michael O. from West Des Moines “This hotel was awesome, especially the decor. The rooms are a little small and the location is not choice, but the quality and value of the hotel make up for these shortcomings.” Sep 7, 2004 by
Robert H. from Warren “The Onyx is a great three star hotel; to call it four stars is a stretch. The rooms were good but small. The Ruby room is small and has limited seating. The dinner selection is good but the breakfast menu lacks simple items like a buffet with pancakes, bacon, and omelets. I liked the hotel but it's not a four star like staying at the Parker or the Ritz. The wireless Internet is a huge plus. If you don't have a wireless NIC they will provide a wireless bridge to accommodate the Ethernet port on your laptop. This hotel is close to everything down town. It's close to the Fleet Center, Wang, MOS, and Grill 32. I would stay there again.” Sep 7, 2004 by
Michael H. from Williamsville “Hotel was wonderful. Only been open for 3 months. Beds had goose down pillows and blankets. Aveda soaps & shampoos. Turndown service each night. Great continental breakfast each morning. Service very friendly. And location was within a 7 minute walk to Quincy market. Would highly recommend.” Hotel Representatives:
