“A good choice if you are a heavy sleeper or like to get up early in the mornings due to noisy hallways. The lobby and rooms are nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable. The room was suitable for one person, though maybe crowded for two people. I didn't find a closet. Public transportation is conveniently located and many sights are nearby. The dining choices in the immediate area are on the more expensive side. Beware the $5.00 charge for orange juice in the morning, not listed on the menu at all.” Nov 28, 2009 by
Robin from Milford,MA
“The workers need to respect that there are paying guests, sleeping relaxing etc.” Nov 25, 2009 by
Paula from Frisco,TX
“The hotel met our expectations at every level. Very clean sheets, room, bathroom, and very friendly staff.” Nov 19, 2009 by
Wendy from Maumee,OH
“Beautiful lobby and public areas. Disappointed in lack of free internet. We requested a king size bed at check-in and were told there was an additional fee of $10.00 per night. Usually the hotels grant our request for a king size bed if one is available without any extra fees.” Nov 19, 2009 by
Kate from Framingham,MA
“Old world charm, but bathroom needs updating.” Oct 24, 2009 by
Caren from Portland,OR
“Great location. No swimming pool. Decent workout room plus a meditation space. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable.” Oct 22, 2009 by
Linda & Michael from Levitton,PA
“The lobby is quite beautiful. Our room was very clean but a bit small and the bathroom was small as well but had beautiful marble floor and tub/ shower walls. The food at the Irish Pub was excellent. We will stay here again and recommend to our friends and family.” Sep 23, 2009 by
Jody from Halifax,Canada
“This hotel has many good features but it is old and definitely showing its age. If you get a good deal on a room then it is worth just for the location but do not pay full price.” Sep 22, 2009 by
Tom from Superior,CO
“If you could sleep in the Lobby it would be perfect. The hotel is in the perfect location, and if this is all you need, you can get by with the rest of thisFood- very expensive (breakfast $24.00 1 person)Room- very very small and old (clean but old - not nice old, just old)Fitness Center- this is OKFire Alarm- went off at 5:30AM .. that was special.” Sep 19, 2009 by
Doug from Manchester,ME
“Very convenient location. Aging property in need of major updating. Rooms relatively spacious, bathrooms small. Linens and towels of mediocre quality. Age of fixtures and furnishings lends and air of uncleanliness to the rooms. No pool. Definitely not a 3.5 star hotel, perhaps a 3 star hotel, pretending to be a 4 star hotel.” Sep 3, 2009 by
Joyce Oeschger from Newport,VT
“Would not go back as do not want to deal with the parking, have stayed at a lot of hotels in the city and this was by far the most disorganized I have ever encountered. Kinda to bad as our stay was OK until we checked out and wanted our car, that has left a bad taste and really turned us both off.” Sep 1, 2009 by
michael from San Francisco,CA
“"nice enough" hotel and a fair value for the priceline deal. the rooms are small and bathrooms are very small/unattractive. The decor is very nice in the rooms and public spaces. the biggest issue was the lack of wifi in the room and the wired internet connection in our room did not work - we ended up spending 1-2 hours at starbucks everyday as we needed internet. nice staff too.” Aug 31, 2009 by
Lori from N Chelmsford,MA
“Gorgeous hotel, elegant and classy. Great security as needed key to goto room in elevator. Fabulous restaurants surround property, luxurious linens and bedding.” Aug 30, 2009 by
Marc from Woodbury,CT
“Very nice.” Aug 25, 2009 by
Jennifer from Passaic,NJ
“Excellent location, beautiful lobby, pleasant staff, nice hallways. The bathrooms were awful. Although the hotel rooms seemed to be updated, the bathrooms were clearly neglected. A plastic tub/shower retro fitted thing apparently covered the old tile but it was coming off. The original 1930's floor was still there but not in good shape. Overall, not what I would expect for 3.5 stars.” Aug 23, 2009 by
John from Magnolia,DE
“Nice location, close to subway. Check-In is pretty slow. The lobby is nicer than the room. The room very dated, lacking the amenities you expect in this star level (e.x. no flat screen TV).” Aug 23, 2009 by
John from San Francisco,CA
“The hotel was nice and in a great location if you're relying on public transit to get around Boston. The air-conditioning didn't work in our room, however, and with the weather in the 90s, we were miserable the first 2 days of our stay. The hotel didn't do much to help our situation and it took us until the end of day 3 and a personal visit to the Front Desk to get a room with A/C.In other words, the traveler has to initiate efforts to make the stay enjoyable. The staff, in general, is not helpful and is very much reactive instead of pro-active.” Aug 21, 2009 by
claire from Salem,MA
“The Hotel is located in the heart of Boston with easy access to public transportation. The hotel is on the historic list and has been well maintained. The bathrooms are kinda small, but shouldn't be a show stopper for selecting this hotel for your stay.” Aug 20, 2009 by
Faith from North Eastham,MA
“Room was very dated and small but clean. Bathroom was clean and very old and had not been updated in years. I left sunglasses in room and I called from the road and spoke with security. They returned my call after finding the sunglasses and mailed them to my residence -- free of charge -- they arrived within 3 days. Great service!” Aug 18, 2009 by
Tessa from Paso Robles,CA
“Great location and beautiful hotel lobby and public areas. The rooms are older and outdated but this also adds to the charm of the hotel and the history behind it. Cleanliness is one area the hotel could improve on.” Aug 12, 2009 by
Al from Aurora,Canada
“The hotel has many great attributes, including its superb location, grand lobby and charming bedrooms. With some updating and TLC, it can be readily achieve 5 star status.” Aug 10, 2009 by
Cheryl from West Hempstead,NY
“Lobby of hotel was very beautiful and spacious. Rooms were clean and neat, however they were on the small size.” Aug 5, 2009 by
Judy from Medfield,MA
“I really liked it! It had an old time feeling with an updated decor. It was much better than I expected. There was no view out of our window as we looked on the next building of rooms, but it just didn't matter since we had such a nice time! I would recommend this hotel and priceline to all of my friends!” Aug 3, 2009 by
Suzanne from Mystic,CT
“OK, nice lobby. Friendly, efficient staff. The room was rather small but, who cares, the bed was pretty comfortable. Unfortunately, they brought in a cot for our son and I'm not sure the bedding on that had been changed. The plumbing in the hotel, i.e. that you could hear in our room and in our bathroom was so loud, I swear, it sounded like a large jackhammer or excavator was coming through the wall.” Aug 3, 2009 by
Julie from Austin,TX
“A great hotel for business travel or get away. An older hotel with character, bathrooms could use an update but not terrible. Not such a great spot if travelling with younger kids, but OK for older teenagers. The location is great.” Jul 28, 2009 by
Helen from Mount Prospect,IL
“I had problems with the air conditioning. I reported it, they came but there was no change in the efficiency of the unit. The ice machine and the soda machine on my floor did not work nor did it on the floor below me.” Jul 22, 2009 by
Peter from Millburn,NJ
“Every inch of hotel space was gorgeous. Every detail attended to. We have stayed at 5 star hotels around the world, and this was on par. Could not recommend this hotel too highly. We felt guilty that we got the room at such a discount.” Jul 14, 2009 by
Chris from Tucson,AZ
“The hotel is beautiful and has a great location near the Trinity church and a Legal Sea Foods restaurant. Mass transportation in any direction. The fitness facility was great. Careful with booking a room for a family....we were only guaranteed a queen bed and we got a very small room for 4 people with one bed. The bed was very comfortable but too small for 4 people. The bath room was tiny.” Jun 3, 2009 by
Barb from Wauwatosa,WI
“The hotel had elegant old world ambiance and though we were very casual in our dress, we didn't feel out of place even under the glistening chandelier in the lobby.” Apr 23, 2009 by
Steve from Seal Beach,CA
“Good location with lots of potential. Park Plaza is an older hotel and the rooms need a face lift. Bedding was great. Heat was a problem, and service was spotty.” Mar 24, 2009 by
Casey from Newmarket,NH
“This was one of the best hotels I have stayed at. Everything was great.” Mar 21, 2009 by
Ray from Albany,NY
“We were happy with the location but valet was extremely expensive and they did not tell us the cost until we checked out. Garage they parked our car at was public and displayed $20 per day charge. We payed triple this cost for a 15 hour stay. I would recommend staying at a newer hotel, rooms were small and outdated. The bathroom had less room.” Mar 18, 2009 by
Jeff from Oswego,NY
“Great location, clean, friendly, respectful.” Mar 12, 2009 by
Robert from Riverview,FL
“Everything in the hotel was find and comfortable just the bathroom could have been bigger but it still was ok to take care personal things.” Mar 11, 2009 by
Sheryl from Madison,CT
“As long as you can deal with a small room it is great. I was a little confused by the valet parking and the reception seemed confused how to do it also.” Mar 2, 2009 by
Michele from Bakersfield,CA
“Very nice. The staff was very nice and helpful.” Feb 19, 2009 by
Dustin from Nashua,NH “The hotel itself was very nice, lobby, hallways, entrance. But our room was not and we were given a handicapped room. Also we waited in line nearly 40 minutes just trying to check in to our room, service was not good.” Feb 18, 2009 by
Andrea from Northborough,MA
“This was my best hotel stay of the year. It absolutely exceeded all of my expectations.” Feb 9, 2009 by
Joe from Miiltown,NJ
“It was a pleasant experience.” Feb 4, 2009 by
Denise from North Andover,MA
“I loved that this hotel was old and charming. It was very near to my favorite shopping and the Boston Common. I enjoyed that we did not have to leave to go out for the night, great stuff right at the hotel!” Jan 5, 2009 by
Katie from Jamaica Plain,MA
“I'm sure this hotel would be fine if you had the extra to cough up for a suite or a towers room, otherwise, don't bother. There are plenty of other hotels in the area and for the price you could get much more space and better amenities. The rooms are Dec 30, 2008 by

“My trip to Boston was excellent. The location of the hotel, the swan cafe and the concierge services all exceeded my expectations. Great stay and I will definitely recommend The Boston Park Plaza Hotel.” Dec 18, 2008 by
Judith from Arlington,MA
“If location matters most to you, this hotel is it. You pay for Dec 10, 2008 by

“Unsatifactory noise reduction for the rooms. Can hear every word in the next room...no effective insulation between the walls. My particlar experience people up all night and smoking marijuana. Guests should not be charged for boxes that they ship into the hotel for business use.” Dec 10, 2008 by
Troy from Saint Johnsbury,VT
“Great hotel, great location. Would definitely stay there again. The valet lost my car keys, which they are treating me well about. Things happen I understand. The heating system is antiquated however, and the digital thermostat is useless, as the heat is either 100%, or off, had to have the window open most of the time to keep a comfortable room tempurature. The heater in the bathroom wouldn't even shut off. Other than that, great hotel, walking distance to anything that you would need in the Back Bay South End of the Hub.” Dec 10, 2008 by
Amalia from Florence,MA
“Ok, the bed was comfortable, the lobby was lovely. But the room was a closet, and the bathroom not much bigger than a hatbox.” Dec 1, 2008 by
John from Marstons Mills,MA
“Great, if you are going to the theater district or shopping to downtown. Older hotel with smaller rooms and baths but very clean with very friendly staff.” Nov 13, 2008 by
Tom from Westport,CT
“The room we finally got was very nice. First had smoke smell. The men's room, downstairs from lobby, had 3 of 4 stalls with no toilet paper, and I was approached by a man in that bathroom. Hotel patrons should not be directed to use that men’s room.

“This is a beautiful hotel with a convenient location for the tourist type viewing of Boston. With the T at the back door, variety of restaurants & shopping so close, although some areas near the commons are called unsafe at night it did not feel threatening with so many people out about. The Concierge, lived up to his job description and we felt comfortable asking any questions. Simply a beautiful nice relaxing hotel to base our Boston visit in.
