“When you go to a hotel like Doubletree, you expect a certain ambient. We were sent to a very small room, with views to an indoor storage with a container, a bathroom with a very small shower and no tub. We had to ask to moved and we were moved to a nicer room, with views to an indoor garden and a regular size tub. It is definitely a business economical hotel. Don't consider it for a romantic get away under any circumstances but it is conveniently located.” Oct 18, 2009 by
Shari from Cliffside Park,NJ
“After a long painful night of unexpectedly having to stay in town, a new friend let us use their computer. We were introduced to Priceline, where we got this hotel. Let me just say that the cookie greeting put an end to all of our troubles, as funny as it sounds. The staff Sep 9, 2009 by

“The hotel is nice for the price. The carpet on the steps leading to the hotel was soiled - not a good way to greet guests, although a sign in the elevator said it was being replaced throughout. One big complaint: the website advertised a pool and hot-tub, but failed to mention that they are actually located next door in the public YMCA - we went to look and quickly chose not to use those facilities. The floor plan in the hallways is confusing and snakes around to dead-ends, but once you know the way to your room there is no problem. The front desk pleasantly accommodated all of our requests.” Sep 6, 2009 by
David from Bedford,Canada
“Although bitten by something in this hotel bed (four itchy bumps on my leg after an hour in the bed) the hotel staff insisted there were no bed bugs. Even after asking to see the bites to visually verify I wasn't making up my complaint, the staff insisted there were no bed bugs. No matter, they did agree to give me another room where I did not receive more bites.” Aug 20, 2009 by
Eric from San Francisco,CA
“Overall the Doubletree is your standard 3 star hotel. Rooms are large and comfortable. The food is pretty average. As for the location its a little off the beaten path, a short walk to downtown but next to a hospital. Also the building layout is very weird and consists of several buildings all pieced together.” Aug 11, 2009 by
Sal from Lynn,MA
“I had no issues, the only thing I didn't like was there didn't have a fridge. Also, parking was too expensive.” Jul 13, 2009 by
George from Kensington,CT
“Clean, quiet and great location.” Jun 11, 2009 by
Scott from Topsham,ME
“Clean, efficient, conveniently located, though not the best area for kids to be walking around at night (area around Chinatown/theater district still has a few street walkers etc.)” May 27, 2009 by
Laurie from Colchester,CT
“The hotel had a nice ambiance and was very comfortable. I would stay there again.” May 21, 2009 by
Aaron from Los Angeles,CA
“Loved the Sweet Dreams pillows and mattresses. The staff (with one exception) was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Late checkout was a snap. As always, the chocolate chip cookies were addictive. The housekeeping staff respected our do not disturb sign, and also respected our wishes to minimize towel and sheet waste. Also, free access to the YMCA gym is a huge plus. Weaknesses include the cramped business center (which has no desk space for guests carrying their own laptops), lack of free Wi-Fi in the rooms, and complicated Wi-Fi interface in the public areas. The Starbucks is not Wi-Fi enabled, and does not honor the Starbucks card free refills.” May 13, 2009 by
Jung from State College,PA
“Good location near Chinatown and Boston commons. Theater district is about 2 blocks away. Moderately clean. Internet access was not free (about $10 per day). No microwave and refrigerator for free use.” Apr 22, 2009 by
Korina from Greenfield,MA
“Great place. Received warm cookie upon check-in and pillows were comfortable. This was much better stay that I was expecting. Would recommend it to others.” Apr 21, 2009 by
Dennis from Staten Island,NY “Hotel was very nice and clean. Unfortunately, the downtown area was a little off the beaten path and near a major hospital. Otherwise, a very nice hotel.” Mar 19, 2009 by
Kathleen from Hartford,CT
“This is a very nice, reasonably priced hotel. It's in a good location for walking around and exploring the area. Local stores easy access. Hotel staff very nice & accommodating. I will return to this hotel.” Feb 28, 2009 by
Kathy from Unadilla,NY
“Very nice hotel in a good location near hospital.” Jan 28, 2009 by
Wendy from Wilmington,DE
“The hotel was easily accessible for me and the guests that visited me during my stay. Very comfortable, clean, and never smelled like any smokers had ever been there.” Oct 30, 2008 by

“Overall a pleasant stay, clean, friendly, comfortable.” Oct 27, 2008 by

“I really liked it and would definitely stay there again.

“No need to. It looked nice and that staff was very friendly however our room already had dirty glasses in front of the door and when we walked in it smelt like cigarettes. Not to mention the mini bar had not been filled since the last people stayed which obviously was about 5 minutes before we got there. Nice on the outside.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Stoney from Fort Worth, TX
“The Doubletree Hotel - Downtown Boston is another example of a top tier brand whose properties are badly in need of remodel to maintain the brand standards. While the lobby, bar, and open areas met my expectations, except for the creaky floors, antiquated bathroom, and older model TV.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Emily from Middleboro, MA
“A good inexpensive hotel. It was clean but it is right near the NE Medical Center, so there were lots of ambulance sirens all night. Also, it is on the Orange Line, which is not the safest to travel on especially at night.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Sheila from Westbrook, ME
“Stay was comfortable and convenient. The staff at the front desk was average.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Linas from Baltimore, MD
“The hotel would be nice, as long as they remove the dorm-like connecting doors between the rooms.” Jul 23, 2008 by
T from Encinitas, CA
“All hotels should new non-smoking. Didn't necessarily exceed my expectations for a three star hotel. I was very skeptical about this hotel. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly, accommodated all our requests, great hotel for kids. The lobby and bathrooms should be renovated. All in all we had a great stay and the location was great, central close to the T.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Chris from Pocasset, MA
“Seems like old Holiday Inn with renovations that are barely ok. Old. Replaced some of the stuff in the room, but desk chair was stained and didn't work. Ok for the $, but still needs work.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Ronnie from Pittsburgh, PA
“The hotel was clean, the staff was accommodating and the room was fine. There was only one cup for coffee, and few towels. We were there for only one night so we did not use the hotel much.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Craig from Medford, MA
“The hotel room was nicely appointed with the exception of a refrigerator. Beware of the minibar that charged us for two waters we did not consume because we accidentally touched it trying to store a sandwich in it (bad idea!). Unfortunately the pool is not in the hotel itself, but in an adjacent building so we didn't end up using it. Also, there is no free WIFI neither in the rooms nor in the lobby. The staff was friendly and the location is good in terms of being steps away from the T (subway).” Jul 21, 2008 by
Kathy from Bath, ME
“Great location, friendly staff, beautiful and comfortable room.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Mike from Du Bois, PA
“This hotel was very clean and beautiful, with a friendly professional staff. Very reasonably priced considering it was a weekend home game for the Red Sox. Decent location for a weekend stay in Boston. I would stay there again anytime in Boston. The only down side was the price of the valet parking compared to other hotels in this class.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Elyse from Uniontown, OH
“The Doubletree Downtown Boston had clean, comfortable rooms and lobbies. It's certainly one of the nicer hotels I've stayed at in a major city. That said, we had difficulty finding appropriate staff to answer our questions. The concierge was never at his/her desk and the other staff members seemed constantly busy. The hotel is right next door to an orange line T-stop, but that train seemed to run infrequently on the weekend. I would recommend walking the 5-10 minutes to South Station for more timely train access. Despite those few shortcomings, I really enjoyed my stay.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Sue from Lewisville, TX
“Great place to stay. The room and bedding were wonderful. Close to the transportation. Many staff members were very helpful.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Lisa from Ottawa, ON CA
“It was a nightmare to live in this hotel. Really surprised how it can be classified as 3 star. Although I requested earlier for non-smoking rooms and they promised to satisfy. When checking in, still got smoking room. The smell in the room was unbearable. The noise is very loud at night. Difficult to fall asleep. It's very weird that the front desk is located on the second floor. Groups of people chatted in the lobby, very noisy.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Angela from Warren, ME
“Very nice hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was a nice surprise to receive a warm cookie upon check in. I do not have any food allergies, but they may want to mention to people that there are nuts in the cookies. Check out was also a breeze; they deliver a bill under your door around 6 am and if you agree with the bill you just leave your keys in your room and you're all set. I was pleasantly surprised to find my bill under my door upon wakening (we had to be up at 5 am and leave by 5:30) and it was a breeze to check out. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Pete from Southington, CT
“Very nice hotel with comfortable amenities.” Jul 11, 2008 by
Lisa from Brooklyn, NY
“Do not stay in this hotel.” Jul 11, 2008 by
April from Douglassville, PA
“Very enjoyable experience with clean rooms and attention to detail. We would recommend it to anyone.” Jul 11, 2008 by
Dee from Uncasville, CT
“Just on a whim, my husband and I decided to go to Boston for the 4th of July. We were right next to the T. Across the street from an emergency room. And there was a Starbucks located in the lower lobby by the entrance. Most things were in walking distance or it was easy to take the T.” Jul 11, 2008 by
Reed from Manassas, VA
“Great location. Helpful friendly staff. Clean and courteous throughout.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Nancy from Dunmore, PA
“Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Poor location.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Dean from Canon City, CO
“Very convenient to China Town and tour stops, friendly, helpful staff, nice architecture and layout. $36 to park until 2 pm, $6 per hour after 2 pm.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Raymond from Leominster, MA
“Mostly ok. The add of the 50 dollar charge was a misnomer. All in all, a super hotel. Keep up the good effort's. We would love to stay in Baltimore next month.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Laurence from Canton, OH
“The price for the hotel was excellent. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Roberto from Wolfville, NS CA
“Rooms were really tiny. Only suitable for single person or young couple. Only one double bed, no desk or even a chair in the room (no space anyway). No hair dryer in room. The room was very clean, good bathroom and shower. Friendly staff. Superb location.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Richard from Lakewood, CA
“Conveniently located next to the T station and just a few short blocks to Chinatown. The hotel was clean, my bed was comfortable and the hotel is situated midway between everything. I was able to get to the hotel within 30 from the airport using the blue line and transferring to the orange line (New England Hospital Station). The staff was helpful and friendly. I would definitely consider staying here again.” Jul 4, 2008 by
Adam from Toronto, ON CA
“Very comfortable room with a decent selection of TV channels for those rainy days. Comfortable beds. The hotel itself is quite good, cold AC and very friendly staff. Our car broke down and concierge got us to a reliable garage and we made our 900km trip home. The staff of this hotel are doing an overall good job! The hotel is right next to a hospital, so the area immediately around the hotel is clean and well lit. The T stop is right there so you can catch public transit into town. For the price, it was cheaper then staying at a hostel for 2 people.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Jo from Montreal, QC CA
“I was pleasantly surprised at how the Doubletree was modern, clean and comfortable with great amenities (Neutrogena cleansers, Wolfgang puck coffee, and warm gourmet cookie upon arrival). My one sore point was that I was given a smoking floor in a smoking room which to a non-smoker is beyond horrible as it makes breathing extremely difficult. When I asked if I could be moved to another floor, they told me the entire hotel was booked, but they did offer to bring in an industrial sized air purifier into my room which mercifully did the trick. If it wasn't for that, and the friendliness of the staff, I would have written off this hotel entirely.” Jul 2, 2008 by
April from Hamilton, NY
“I was satisfied with the location and room. The staff was friendly and accommodating.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Andy from Salem, MA
“Stayed here several times and always had a good experience. The only strike against is the proximity to sketchiness (combat zone, druggies, etc.). This is only an issue late at night though. Otherwise, it is right in the heart of Boston's best.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Laura from Harrison, ME
“This hotel was friendly and the staff was great. I would stay here again.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Andy from Falmouth, ME
“Nice, but not particular an upscale feel. Fine for business travel.”
