• Location, very friendly staff.
• Extremely loud noises from ice machine at midnight and 5AM for about 15 minutes each time very disturbing.

“Everything was on par except for the loud plumbing mosses. A flushed toilet, whether ours or the room next to us, ran loudly for ten minutes. The ice machine had a thumping and pounding noise twice in the middle of the night. Not a very good night's sleep!”

• Parking was a ridiculous price through the hotel.

“Everything met our expectations except for the parking fees and their attempt to charge us for a rollaway bed. I was almost more disturbed that they tried to charge us for a rollaway and then once we asked if we could get it without charge they immediately obliged. The hotel was very nice though and the bed was very comfortable.”

• It's location was nice and the rooms were attractive and clean.
• You have to pay for everything! In room internet, business centre access, and staff on the phone weren't friendly.

“There are issues. You have to pay for a lot extra. Internet in your room? An extra $ a night. Want to use the business centre instead? You need a credit card first. Local call? It's charged to your room at 25 cents a call. Staff don't know much about the local area in terms of food and shopping and were slightly rude on the phone, something that really surprised me. Maybe it's just me, but I always assumed the Hilton was a nicer hotel. And while it looked nice, the rooms were good, and beds comfortable. The charges for the most simple things were really disappointing. Look elsewhere if the little things bother you.”

• Great location, better than most hotels in the area, not too loud.
• The view was not as good as from other floors.

“Great location, rooms were superb, very comfortable king size beds. The bathroom was enormous in size unlike most of other hotels. Staff was friendly and attentive.”

• Odd shower, poor footing in the shower.

“Excellent hotel. We only stayed one night but were very comfortable and happy. If I had to critique anything it would be the shower. It was a great big, clean bathroom, but had only a hand held shower head mounted on the side wall so it was hard to keep water in the tub. The bathtub floor was very slippery and my daughter almost fell.”

• The sheets and bed.
• How small the bathroom was.

“It was a nice hotel. We would have liked a higher floor for a better view, but the room was very nice with great sheets and bed. The TV was a flat screen with lots of channels. The only downside was how small the bathroom was you could barely move in there.”

“This hotel was awesome. From the time we got to the valet, the attendant was helpful and friendly along with the staff at the front desk. The room was very nice, comfortable and the location was great for us. We were going to a Red Sox game and we were able to walk to the stadium. The front desk even helped us find a bar to go to after the game and were very friendly at all times.”

“I have stayed at the Hyatt-Boston Common. The Meridien-Fanueil Hall, Club Quarters on Devonshire and the Hilton is by far the nicer of the other four, room cleaner, bathroom large, walk-out balcony and the toiletries nicer.”

• Lobby under construction when we were there.

“Back Bay Hilton is perfect location for those going to Fen way Park to see a baseball game. Walking distance to park which allows you to avoid crowded subways and expensive cab rides. Might be a bit far to walk for small children but for 8 year olds and up the walk is fine. Also, easy to get to from the highway and easy enough to get back, although it seems like there could be an easier way to get back to the Turnpike going west than going to end of Mass Ave to do so.”

“The Back Bay Hilton is located in a perfect location in Boston with easy access to Fen way Park, the subway, downtown, MIT and Harvard. The room was very clean and finished quite attractively. The beds were out of this world comfortable. Check in was very smooth and front desk staff were very accomodating. Would stay at the Back Bay Hilton again on my next trip to Boston. The only negative about this hotel was the $30/day park but as Boston goes that seems to be the going rate.”

• Location and room quality. Love the toiletries. Crabtree and Evelyn.
• Under renovation and very noisy! Dust from renovations is harsh on my child with asthma. Dining is limited.

“Great location for Fen way and Prudential center. Easy access for "T" transit system. Nice pool for kids. Not for those who want a resort experience but good for Boston travelers on the go.”

• The location was perfect, restaurants close by and our destination was in walking distance.
• Too expensive to park, wireless internet too expensive.

“The accommodations were great, the room was very comfortable, and location was perfect. You could walk to restaurants and Northeastern University. I thought $35.00 a day for parking was much too much and was disappointed that wireless internet in the room was $12.95. Please note that there are two computers in the lobby that were free.”

• Very attentive staff. Beautiful, clean rooms.
• Not a negative, but it was going through renovation. So a slight mess.

“For travelers that need easy access to the Hynes Convention Center, the Hilton Back Bay is the perfect choice. The price is very reasonable compared to nearby competition such as the Marriot and Sheraton and is just as close by. The rooms are spacious and the amenities are top-notch. The room I had had a great view of the nearby Christian Science building grounds though some might prefer a different angle instead. Overall, I am glad I stayed here.”

• The hotel is renovating its lobby, the construction is bothersome. Most of the time two out of three available elevators worked, very inconvenient.

“Under construction, noisy early in the morning. Sounds of workmen, dropping tools and other loud items. You could hear the neighbors on the bed side of the room talking, screaming, opening beer, etc. not my idea of a comfortable nights sleep.”

“I greatly enjoyed staying at this hotel. Unlike other places, the room was perfect, comfortable, neat, and spacious. I was so able to relax, enjoy the time, and had absolutely no worries, problems, or difficulties in any way. Nothing to be fixed, all the appliances worked, the bathroom was clean, stocked, and the water pressure for the shower was perfect. I would give this hotel a 10 and would definitely stay there again.”

• The location was great and the fitness center is one of the best I've seen.
• The lobby was under construction. Rooms are a bit noisy.

“In an excellent location, the Hilton Back Bay offers nice rooms with great views of Boston's skyline. Highlights of the hotel include a state-of-the-art fitness center with a nice lap pool and Jacuzzi overlooking Boston. Hilton's comfortable bedding and toiletries add to the experience. The lobby is being remodeled (as of 03/2008), but once that is done this will really be a winner.”

• Friendliness of the staff was beyond any property I stayed in the past couple of years. They were courteous and observant of my needs.
• Internet connection was in a terrible place. Was a disappointment, compared to several other hotels I stayed that week?

“The Hilton Back Bay is a nice hotel near enough to many Boston shops a one of the main Subway lines. The fitness facility is better than many chain hotels; the staff is friendly and helpful, though the hotel lacks a nice lounge and doesn't really offer an upscale dining option. It is particularly convenient to the Hynes Convention Center, Berklee College of Music, the Berklee Performance Center, and Symphony Hall.”

• The creamer for the coffee in the room was sour.

“Overall the hotel was clean, comfortable and well located. There was a business center available and internet access in the room that made it great for business travel. Located directly across from the Prudential Tower and Hynes Convention Center made it a great location.”
