• The bed was so comfortable, brand new HD TV and good complimentary breakfast.
• It was not near a very busy area, had to take the T to more lively areas.

“The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The room was big and pretty; the bed was so comfortable, my husband and I wished we could stay longer. Very nice complimentary breakfast with eggs, bacon and pancakes. Would definitely recommend to friends and would stay again the next time we visit Boston.”

• Beautiful room and bath. Helpful and courteous staff. Easy to get to. Excellent directions given.

• The building and furnishings were unique.

“Wonderful building, with a friendly and helpful staff. Everything was perfectly clean, and the people who work there obviously take great pride in their jobs. I plan to stay there again in the future.”

• The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious.
• No parking on site. Off site parking was expensive, but fairly convenient.

“The room was clean and comfortable. It was located near the T line and within walking distance of Boston. Parking was not available on site which was inconvenient and expensive. The hotel itself is charming, however the front desk staff was not very knowledgeable about area eating places, directions or distances.”

• The included breakfast was excellent --delicious blueberry pancakes, scones, bacon, scrambled eggs. Really made staying there a delight.
• In our rather large room, there was only a small window off of one corner of it, so the lighting/view situation left something to be desired.

“Beautifully restored, artifacts with firemen motifs throughout. Also has a George Washington theme. Rooms are very clean and furnished in the antique style with nicely tiled bathrooms. Great location right next to the Kendall T and basically on the M.I.T. campus.”

• Historical hotel with a bed and breakfast feeling.
• Too much sun in the early morning (transparent blinds).

“Beautifully restored historical hotel. Elegant and clean. A pleasure to stay. (Ask for better curtains in rooms or you'll wake up very early).”

• Very individual rooms, lovingly decorated, high relaxing factor.
• It would be good to have a bar for a drink. (Was closed).

“I never was so positively surprised by a hotel. Very lovingly decorated, each room, area with a different flair. Definitely worth the money and an additional stay.”

• Non-cookie cutter decor; good breakfast.
• No vestibule floor mats inadequate dirt and cold from street invaded lobby.

“Very convenient; heart of MIT, short bus or subway ride to Harvard Square or Park Street; adjacent to MBTA Kendall Sq. and across street from Legal Seafoods' Cambridge store; hip decor; kid and family friendly; street scape a bit sterile in that area.”

• The room, free high speed internet connection and the free daily breakfast.
• The cramped lobby and small dining room.

• Excellent location, great breakfast, unique building & furnishings.
• When someone called to leave me a message, staff said I wasn't staying there.

“Except for the missed phone message, this was totally great. It is right next to MIT, the the biotech industries spawned by MIT, convenient to the T - costs $1.25 to get to from the airport; and is only a few blocks from lots of restaurants, etc. I would recommend this to anyone.”

• Quiet, clean, friendly staff, quaint rooms
• Neighborhood is deserted at night

“This hotel was great. The staff was gracious and accommodating. My room in the old firehouse section (314) was large and lovely. The decor was homey and added something special to the experience. I will book a stay there again.”
