• Pool was small.

“The rooms were clean and well kept. It was a little difficult to access with a car. The room had a kitchen which was nice and refrigerator. The buffet in the morning was excellent, included morning papers (Sunday times and globe) and free wireless internet. Excellent stay. There was some renovation in the public rooms.”

• The room was very large and the amenities were great.
• Parking was expensive, but that is to be expected.

“I had a very good experience at this hotel; the room was lovely, and huge for the price. The staff was all very friendly. Although I did not take advantage of this, the hotel offered a free hot buffet breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• We had use of a studio apartment, very nice surprise.
• The hot breakfast buffet was not hot, or tasty. The food was dry and cold.

“I liked the hotel room very much, a lot of space, and a kitchen to use. The breakfast was pretty bad, after trying some of the "hot" food I opted for the prepackaged foods like yogurt and cereal and milk. The staff was also friendly. Another disappointment had to pay $20 for parking. I know it was Cambridge area, but $20 was too much for the night.”

• Cleanliness and friendliness of room service and concierge.
• Continental breakfast was terrible, the staff fought openly in front of us and closed the food service down in front of us; poor presentation of food.

“This hotel was under construction during my stay and the hot tub was broken. The hot breakfast was poorly stocked and we were made to feel that we were in the way when I asked for bowls, spoons, cups and food refills. My room was spotless and comfortable and was specially make up for me so I could be near my sons staying in another room. The front desk staff were gracious and friendly as were the room staff. I would stay here again, just ask that the breakfast staff be more patient and if you could use real dishes, that would help. Also, soy milk would be a great addition for vegetarians.”

• Newly renovated suite room was much nicer than expected for the price.
• Due to construction, the breakfast buffet was split between rooms.

“Excellent value for the Boston area. Three blocks from the MBTA, this suite hotel was newly remodeled and very comfortable. Skip the free buffet though and walk down to the Marriott.”

• Spacious rooms, breakfast included friendly staff.
• Hard to find because the sign was too small, no lotion supplied, toenail on the carpet.

“Overall, my stay at this hotel was great - spacious room, friendly staff (including the general mgr), and the included breakfast, even with eggs & French toast, plus we barely heard any construction noise. However, there were a couple of issues - the small sign on the side of the building is easy to miss, so it looks like any other office building in the area, there was not enough shampoo provided and no lotion available (necessary when you travel with liquids is limited), and I found an old toenail on the carpet.”

• Very spacious room, large sitting area, very comfortable.
• Bathroom was very small, and no real room for privacy other than tiny bathroom.

“The room exceeded my expectations in its size. It had a kitchenette, complete with all of the tools one would need for preparing and serving a meal, except for food, of course. The location was nice because it was very near the "t" (Boston subway), which made it easy to travel around Boston Cambridge. The staff, also, was very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast buffet was tasty and adequate. Something for everyone: eggs, toast, oatmeal, waffles, cereal, juice, coffee, and more.”

“Parking is a big problem. Parking is in a non-affiliated garage off-site. Parking there at night and having to walk to the hotel is not ideal and could even be dangerous late at night.”

• I loved the location and the grand breakfast choices.
• There was not anything I did not like.

“My Mom and I were on vacation for 4 days and loved the city of Boston & Cambridge. This hotel was so convenient to both and to the T. It made it such an enjoyable trip. The breakfast in the morning was a bonus as well as the workout facilities and the pool.”

• The breakfast was excellent as was the set up of the room.
• Sometimes had to wait for front desk people to notice us since they were in the back, but very helpful when they got there.

“The sectional couch and full kitchen in the room were very nice. The TV could have been bigger since it was between the bedroom area and the couch it was sometimes difficult to see. The large breakfast in the morning was great and plenty of food and seating was available. The staff was very friendly and helpful although sometimes it took a few minutes for the front desk people to notice we were there and come out from the back to help us. Overall, a great experience. I would definitely stay there again.”

• The location to restaurants and the subway. It was in a nice area.
• It didn't have a restaurant in the hotel. They only served breakfast.

“The suites were comfortable and it was nice to be able to bring back your leftovers when you ate out. That's not something you can normally do.”

• The room was fabulous and the breakfasts were great.
• No prior warning that parking was an extra $20 per night.

“Wonderful room. Comfortable bed. Great hot tub when it worked. Parking was available, but too pricey and we were already locked into the room so had no alternative. Also, the desk clerk when we checked in was neither friendly nor helpful. Loved being so close to the T and near MIT and Harvard. Great place to visit Boston from.”

• Excellent location close to MIT and the T. Excellent Internet Access and breakfast.
• No express checkout available through the TV menu options.

“Very nice hotel and the room was nicer than Hyatt Regency room I had at the same rate. Internet, light dinner and breakfast are all included in the Marriott rate and all of these things cost extra at the Hyatt. Less than a block away from the Kendall T station and only steps away from the MIT campus. The room was fully equipped with a kitchen, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, etc. This hotel definitely deserves to be 3.5 stars. ”

• An excellent breakfast (included). The room I stayed in had microwave, dishwasher, oven, large fridge, silverware, etc.
• I felt that the carpet and the sofa were not very clean.

• Comfy bed, nice kitchen, very clean, nice staff, great breakfast.
• As a tourist, location could have been better.

“I have never been to a Residence Inn, so I didn't know what to expect. Our trip was short so we ate out, but for longer trips it would be great to have a kitchen and living room area. We paid $150/night which is a good deal if you take advantage of all the services.”

“This was a great stay. We really loved the hotel. The housekeeping was superb. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Excellent kitchen facilities provided. Loved the informal full buffet breakfast, no need to talk to waiters, no formality, excellent food selection, excellent service. Unusually clean swimming pool. Like the little mini-store downstairs. Although they accept pets their $150 fee for that is kind of high.”

• very large room, hide-a-bed accommodated an unexpected guest (our daughter).
• Parking in the area is not cheap, 20 per 24 hrs in the garage.

“Spacious rooms, clean, comfortable. Complimentary breakfast better than the usual fare, choices included waffles, eggs, sausage, muffins, etc. In the midst of MIT, convenient by car or T to Harvard and Boston.”

“The hotel is very well located only a block from the MIT stop on the red line, which is only a few stops from the Amtrak station. Breakfast is included, although it is mediocre. The rooms are huge too.”

“My "room" was like a small upscale apartment in the heart of the city. It's hard to believe that they can offer so much; a kitchen, living room area, bedroom, and bathroom with the vanity room outside of the actual bathroom; free high-speed Internet; free breakfast buffet; free dinner; access to a pool, hot-tub, and very nice fitness room; complimentary room extras like coffee, tea, popcorn, and candies; and the list goes on and on!I'm amazed that this hotel only has a 2.5 star rating. I am often very critical of bad rooms, so I really never give a hotel a perfect rating. The Residence Inn deserves one.”

• all around it was a good place! location is close to the subway and to all the touristy places. The staff was knowledgeable about the local area
• The free happy hour only goes from Mon-Thurs so no free drinks The parking garage for $20.00 a night and you pay more to take your car out for the day
